Claims
- 1. A method for treating dry skin conditions comprising
- (a) applying to an affected skin area a skin cleansing composition comprising a carrier made by combining from about 4-12% by weight of an anionic surfactant and an amphoteric surfactant in an amount of 0.75 to 1.25 parts by weight per 1 by weight of said anionic surfactant at least 0.75 parts by weight of said anionic surfactant and having dispersed therein an agent that stimulates the sebaceous gland is to promote the production of oily sebum which is 1-imidozoyl-1-(4-chlorophenoxy)-3,3-dimethylbutane-2-one; wherein said agent is present in said composition in an amount effective to promote the natural secretion of sebum in the skin: and
- (b) washing off the skin cleansing composition with water.
- 2. The method according to claim 1 wherein said skin cleansing composition contains from about 0.1 to about 5% by weight of said agent.
- 3. The method according to claim 2 wherein said skin cleansing composition comprises from about 0.25 to 2.5% by weight of said agent.
- 4. The method according to claim 1 wherein said skin cleansing composition is in the form of a lotion, gel, bar soap, liquid soap, foam, liquid or cream.
- 5. The method according to claim 1 wherein said skin cleansing composition is a shampoo.
- 6. The method according to claim 1 wherein said skin cleansing composition is a body cleansing product for non-scalp skin.
