The present invention relates generally to a scarf accessory. More specifically, the present invention relates to an apparatus to secure a scarf around an individual's neck in an aesthetically pleasing manner.
Scarves are a clothing accessory which has been around for centuries. Scarves are functional articles of clothing which cover a user's neck for insulation and reduced exposure to the elements. As an article of clothing, a scarf is, however, also a fashion statement, having many designs and being made from many types of fabrics. Scarves are able to be styled and tied into many designs depending on the user's skill For some individuals, styling a scarf into more complex configurations may be difficult. The present invention allows the user to style a scarf with minimal knowledge of scarf manipulation mechanics.
The present invention is a scarf securer that allows the user to configure and secure a scarf into a complex configuration with minimal effort. Individuals will be able to uniquely secure a scarf around the individual's neck without prior knowledge or experience of tying or wearing a scarf. The present invention allows any scarf to become a unique accessory.
All illustrations of the drawings are for the purpose of describing selected versions of the present invention and are not intended to limit the scope of the present invention.
The present invention is a scarf securer. The present invention is an apparatus to secure a scarf uniquely around a user's neck. The user pulls the scarf through the present invention in accordance the specific design of the present invention in order to manipulate the scarf into a configuration defined by the shape of the present invention. The configuration of the scarf is maintained by the portion of scarf pulled through the present invention and the width of the opening of the present invention.
In accordance to
In accordance to the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the peripheral closed loop 1 is annular, as shown in
In accordance to some embodiments of the annular peripheral closed loop 1, the present invention comprises an alignment protrusion 5, shown in
Further in accordance to the annular embodiment of the peripheral closed loop 1, the peripheral closed loop 1 is five inches in diameter. The plurality of dividers 12 and the peripheral closed loop 1 are preferred to have a width of a quarter inch. The present invention is preferred to be approximately 0.305 millimeters thick as the present invention is made from twenty-eight-gauge metal sheeting.
For implementation for the annular embodiment of the present invention, the plurality of dividers 12 is preferred to be five dividers, as shown in
In another embodiment of the present invention, the peripheral closed loop 1 comprises a first straight member 8, a second straight member 9, a first semi-circular member 10, and a second semi-circular member 11. The first straight member 8, the second straight member 9, the first semi-circular member 10, and the second semi-circular member 11 delineate the shape of the present invention, as shown in
In some embodiments of the present invention, the first straight member 8 and the second straight member 9 are connected adjacent to the first semi-circular member 10. The first straight member 8 and the second straight member 9 are diametrically opposed to each other about the first semi-circular member 10, such that the first straight member 8 and the second straight member 9 extend tangentially from the first semi-circular member 10. The first straight member 8 is, therefore, oriented parallel to the second straight member 9. The first straight member 8 and the second straight member 9 are connected adjacent to the second semi-circular member 11, opposite to the first semi-circular member 10. The first straight member 8 and second straight member 9 are diametrically opposed to each other about the second semi-circular member 11. This configuration delineates an obround shape for the peripheral closed loop 1, in accordance to
The at least one divider 2 is connected between the first straight member 8 and the second straight member 9 in order to partition the plurality of scarf openings 3 within the peripheral closed loop 1. The at least one divider 2 is preferred to be a first divider 13 and a second divider 14. The first divider 13 and the second divider 14 are connected between the first straight member 8 and the second straight member 9. The first divider 13 and the second divider 14 are offset from each other in order to provide sufficient width of the plurality of scarf openings 3 for a scarf to pass through.
For implementation of this embodiment of the present invention, the first divider 13 and the second divider 14 partition the plurality of scarf openings 3 into a left scarf opening, a right scarf opening and a middle scarf opening. The scarf is placed about a user's neck, where the user comfortably cinches the scarf in front of the user's neck. The cinched portion is pulled through the middle scarf opening. Subsequently, a right portion of the scarf is pulled through the right scarf opening. Similarly, a left portion of the scarf is pulled through the left scarf opening. The cinched portion, the right portion of scarf, and the left portion of scarf are pulled through the plurality of scarf openings 3 in order to form a respective loop, or puff, of the scarf in accordance to the user's aesthetic preference. As a result of this implementation of the present invention, the cinched portion, the right portion of scarf and the left portion of scarf form a bow which is secured by the present invention.
In some other embodiments of the present invention, the first straight member 8 is connected adjacent to the first semi-circular member 10. The second semi-circular member 11 is connected adjacent to the first semi-circular member 10, opposite to the first straight member 8. The first straight member 8 and the second semi-circular member 11 are diametrically opposed to each other about the first semi-circular member 10. Similarly, the second straight member 9 is connected adjacent to the second semi-circular member 11, opposite to the first semi-circular member 10. The first semi-circular member 10 and the second straight member 9 are diametrically opposed to each other about the second semi-circular member 11. The first straight member 8 is connected adjacent to the second straight member 9 opposite to the second semi-circular member 11. This configuration of the first straight member 8, the second straight member 9, the first semi-circular member 10 and the second semi-circular member 11 delineate the peripheral closed loop 1 as a heart shape, in accordance to
In accordance to the heart shaped embodiment of the peripheral closed loop 1, the at least one divider 2 is a first divider 13 and a second divider 14. The first divider 13 is connected adjacent to the first straight member 8. The first divider 13 is connected to the first semi-circular member 10, adjacent to the second semi-circular member 11. Similarly, the second divider 14 is connected adjacent to the second straight member 9. The second divider 14 is connected to the second semi-circular member 11, adjacent to the first semi-circular member 10 and the first divider 13. This configuration of the first divider 13 and the second divider 14 partitions the plurality of scarf openings 3 into an upper-left scarf opening, an upper-right scarf opening and a middle opening.
For implementation of the heart shaped embodiment of the peripheral closed loop 1, the user folds a scarf in half and places it about their neck. A first left portion of the scarf is pulled through the upper-left scarf opening Similarly, a first right portion of scarf is pulled through the upper-right scarf opening. Subsequently, a second left portion and a second right portion of the scarf is pulled through the middle opening. The first left portion, the second left portion, the first right portion and the second right portion of scarf are pulled through the plurality of scarf openings 3 in order to form a respective loop, or puff, of the scarf in accordance to the user's aesthetic preference.
For the implementation of every embodiment of the present invention, the loops, or puffs, formed by the scarf are preferred to extrude about two to two and a half inches through the present invention; however, the user is able to adjust each of the loops to the user's preference.
In some embodiments of present invention, the present invention comprises a cushioned backing. The cushioned backing is mounted adjacent to the peripheral closed loop 1 and the at least one divider 2. As the peripheral closed loop 1 and the at least one divider 2 are preferred to be made from metal, the cushioned backing prevents the present invention from cutting or tearing the user's clothes. The cushioned backing is preferred to be made of leather in order to provide a durable material in order to prevent cutting and tearing of the user's clothes.
Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed.
The current application claims a priority to the U.S. Provisional Patent application Ser. No. 62/137,541 filed on Mar. 24, 2015.
