Claims
- 1. A process for manufacturing a light emitting polymer device comprising the steps of:
providing a transparent electrode-containing substrate, adapted to act as a first electrode; screen printing a hole injection layer onto the transparent electrode-containing substrate; printing a light emitting polymer layer onto the hole injection layer.
- 2. The process for manufacturing a light emitting polymer device described in claim 1, further comprising the step of depositing a second electrode onto the light emitting polymer layer.
- 3. The process for manufacturing a light emitting polymer device described in claim 2, wherein the second electrode is composed of low work function metal and wherein the second electrode is deposited onto the light-emitting polymer layer from the vapor phase through a patterned mask.
- 4. The process for manufacturing a light emitting polymer device described in claim 1, further comprising the step of printing a conductive trace onto the light emitting polymer layer.
- 5. The process for manufacturing a light emitting polymer device described in claim 4, further comprising the step of screen printing a dielectric insulating layer onto the conductive trace.
- 6. The process for manufacturing a light emitting polymer device described in claim 1, further comprising the step of depositing an electron injection layer onto the light-emitting polymer layer.
- 7. The process for manufacturing a light emitting polymer device described in claim 6, wherein the electron injection layer is deposited onto the light-emitting polymer layer from the vapor phase through a patterned mask.
- 8. The process for manufacturing a light emitting polymer device described in claim 8, further comprising the step of depositing a second electrode onto the electron injection layer.
- 9. The process for manufacturing a light emitting polymer device described in claim 8, wherein the second electrode is composed of low work function metal and wherein the second electrode is deposited onto the electron injection layer from the vapor phase through a patterned mask.
- 10. The process for manufacturing a light emitting polymer device described in claim 1, wherein the step of printing a light emitting polymer layer onto the hole injection comprises screen printing the light emitting polymer and wherein the light emitting polymer layer is composed of a light emitting polymer dissolved in a solvent
- 11. The process for manufacturing a light emitting polymer device described in claim 10, wherein the solvent is a mixture of solvents.
- 12. The process for manufacturing a light emitting polymer device described in claim 11, wherein one of the solvents is camphene.
- 13. A process for manufacturing a light emitting polymer device comprising the steps of:
providing a substrate of low work function metal; screen printing a light emitting polymer layer onto the substrate.
- 14. The process for manufacturing a light emitting polymer device described in claim 13, wherein the substrate of low work function metal is a conductive foil of low work function metal.
- 15. The process for manufacturing a light emitting polymer device described in claim 13, wherein the substrate of low work function metal comprises a deposited pattern of low work function metal deposited on a plastic substrate.
- 16. The process for manufacturing a light emitting polymer device described in claim 15, wherein pattern of low work function metal is deposited onto the plastic substrate from vapor phase.
- 17. The process for manufacturing a light emitting polymer device described in claim 13, further comprising the step of depositing a transparent electrode onto the light emitting polymer layer.
- 18. The process for manufacturing a light emitting polymer device described in claim 13, wherein the step of printing a light emitting polymer layer onto the hole injection comprises screen printing the light emitting polymer and wherein the light emitting polymer layer is composed of a light emitting polymer dissolved in a solvent.
- 19. The process for manufacturing a light emitting polymer device described in claim 18, wherein the solvent is a mixture of solvents.
- 20. The process for manufacturing a light emitting polymer device described in claim 19, wherein one of the solvents is camphene.
- 21. A process for manufacturing a light emitting polymer device comprising the steps of:
providing a substrate of low work function metal; depositing an electron injection layer onto the substrate; printing light emitting polymer layer onto the electron injection layer.
- 22. The process for manufacturing a light emitting polymer device described in claim 19, wherein the step of printing a light emitting polymer layer onto the hole injection comprises screen printing the light emitting polymer and wherein the light emitting polymer layer is composed of a light emitting polymer dissolved in a solvent.
- 23. The process for manufacturing a light emitting polymer device described in claim 22, wherein the solvent is a mixture of solvents.
- 24. The process for manufacturing a light emitting polymer device described in claim 23, wherein one of the solvent is camphene.
