Embodiments herein relate to medical garments, clothing, and/or apparel. Some embodiments herein relate to medical garments such as medical scrubs.
Medical garments such as scrubs are ubiquitous amongst healthcare professionals and beyond. These garments are articles of sanitary clothing worn by physicians, nurses, dentists and other workers involved in patient care and extends to other work environments where clothing may come into contact with infectious or otherwise harmful agents. In many healthcare environments, it is forbidden to wear any exposed outside clothing. Their construction is often simple and use highly resilient fabric which can withstand repeated washing and sterilization between each use. Some user and facilities utilize disposable garments; however, this can contribute to high volumes of waste over long periods of time.
Existing medical garments and/or scrubs carry many disadvantages. In one example, existing medical scrubs may be uncomfortable. In another example, existing medical scrubs may require additional layers such as underwear layers for comfort and/or warmth. Further, some existing medical scrubs may require additional layers such as underwear layers for comfort and/or warmth and therefore may require additional dressing time for users. Other examples include additional layers such as underwear which may cause users to feel too hot or experience chafing.

The embodiments provided herein relate to medical clothing and/or apparel. Some embodiments herein relate to medical apparel such as medical scrubs.
In some embodiments, an article of manufacture for use by healthcare professionals is disclosed. Article of manufacture may comprise an article of medical apparel and/or garment such medical scrubs. In one example, article of manufacture may comprise a pants portion of a medical scrubs. Pants portion may comprise an external exposed portion and an internal liner portion. Internal liner portion may act to conveniently obviate the need for undergarment and/or additional undergarment use.

Medical Apparel
In general, the embodiments described herein relate to medical clothing and/or apparel. Some embodiments herein relate to medical apparel such as medical scrubs.
Embodiments herein may be compatible with some or all aspects or parts of disclosures such as in “Textiles having antimicrobial properties and methods for producing the same,” US 2018/0042320 A1, which is incorporated by reference in entirety herein.
However, this prior art disclosure fails, for example, to provide medical garments having the advantages associated with embodiments described herein.
Undergarments
Undergarments are articles of clothing used to meet various needs. In one example, undergarments act as sanitary barriers between a wearer and outer clothing of the wearer that is visible to others. In another example, undergarments may provide a wearer an additional layer of temperature moderation and/or protection.
However, undergarments come with disadvantages. In one example, undergarments add an extra step in the dressing process. This can be a disadvantage in a fast-paced environment or rush situation.
It may be advantageous to incorporate the benefits of undergarments into some articles of clothing to eliminate some or all of the aforementioned disadvantages.
Embodiments herein may be compatible with some or all aspects or parts of disclosures such as in “Boxer briefs,” U.S. Pat. No. 10,980,289 B2, which is incorporated by reference in entirety herein.
However, this prior art disclosure fails, for example, to provide medical garments having the advantages associated with embodiments described herein.
In some embodiments, a lining and/or liner may be incorporated and/or attached to pants portion 100a of a set of medical scrubs.
In some embodiments, pants portion 100a may comprise a first article of clothing comprising a first material such as a fabric material. First material may be suitable for sterile environment use. For example, first material may comprise a first fabric that can withstand heavy washing, bleaching, and/or excessive heat. In another example, first material may comprise a fabric that is antimicrobial and/or hostile to bacteria, virus, and/or colonization of the aforementioned.
In some embodiments, pants portion 100a may comprise a first article of clothing comprising a particular size. In one example, pants portion 100a may be comprise a size such as extra-small, small, medium, large, extra-large, etc.
In some embodiments, pants portion 100a may comprise a first article of clothing comprising a particular shape and/or fit such as a stylized fit. In one example, pants portion 100a may be comprise a baggy fit or tight fit.
In some embodiments, pants portion 100a may comprise a first article of clothing suitable for unisex use.
In some embodiments, pants portion 100a may comprise a first article of clothing comprising a first pants leg 101 and a second pants leg 102. First pants leg 101 and second pants leg 102 may each allow for enveloping a wearer's left or right leg.
First pants leg 101 may comprise a first elastic ankle band 101a. Second pants leg 102 may comprise a second elastic ankle band 102a.
In some embodiments, pants portion 100a may comprise a first article of clothing comprising a waistband 103 which may, for example, be an elastic waistband.
In some embodiments, internal liner 201 may be incorporated and/or attached to pants portion 100a of a set of medical scrubs.
In some embodiments, internal liner 201 may eliminate the need for a separate undergarment.
In some embodiments, pants portion 100a may comprise a first article of clothing comprising an internal liner 201 wherein the internal liner 201 comprises a second material such as a fabric material. In some embodiments, first material and second material may be the same material. In some embodiments, first material and second material may be different materials.
In some embodiments, internal liner 201 may comprise one or more panels. For example, internal liner 201 may comprise one or more panels comprising a material such as a fabric or textile. Panels may be joined by seams.
In some embodiments, internal liner 201 may comprise one or more panels such as a left panel, right panel, a middle panel, and/or a gusset panel.
In some embodiments, internal liner 201 may comprise or utilize one or more of various attachment mechanisms to pants portion 100a.
In some embodiments, internal liner 201 may comprise an attachment seam 202a. Attachment seam 202a may attach internal liner 201 to pants portion 100.
In some embodiments, attachment seam 202a may be the only attachment section attaching internal liner 201 to pants portion 100. In these examples, internal liner 201 can be inverted and exposed. Invertibility allows for easy cleaning, for example.
In some embodiments, attachment seam 202a may comprise a particular stitching pattern. In one example, attachment seam 202a may comprise a dual-stitching pattern. Other patterns will be described herein.
In some embodiments, attachment seam 202a may be created or added by a particular technique. In one example, attachment seam 202a may be created using a lockstitch technique. In another example, attachment seam 202a may be created using a chain stitch technique. In another example, attachment seam 202a may be created using a zigzag stitch technique. In another example, attachment seam 202a may be created using a running stitch technique. In another example, attachment seam 202a may be created using a back stitch technique. In some embodiments, attachment seam 202a may attach internal liner 201 to pants portion 100a and may also serve as a lower seam accompanying an upper seam 202b.
In some embodiments, attachment seam 202a may serve as a lower seam of a first enclosure 203a of waistband 103. Therefore, attachment seam 202a may serve at least a dual purpose to attach internal liner 201 and to create an enclosure.
In some embodiments, upper seam 202b may serve as an upper seam of a first enclosure 203a of waistband 103.
In some embodiments, first enclosure 203a may contain a drawstring 203b.
In some embodiments, internal liner 201 may comprise a first seam which may be a posterior seam 204.
In some embodiments, posterior seam 204 may comprise a particular stitching pattern. In one example, posterior seam 204 may comprise a dual-stitching pattern. Other patterns will be described herein.

In some embodiments, a middle panel bounded by seams may comprise multiple layers and/or a first layer overlaying a second layer, allowing for an opening suitable for male wearers to use the restroom.
In some embodiments, anterior seam 301 may comprise a U-shaped pattern. In some embodiments, anterior seam 301 may comprise a V-shaped pattern. In some embodiments, anterior seam 301 may comprise a rectangular shaped pattern.
In some embodiments, internal liner 201 may comprise a first internal liner bottom seam 401a and/or a second internal liner bottom seam 401b.
In some embodiments, anterior seam 301 may connect to or meet an in-seam 402.
In some embodiments, in-seam 402 may connect to or meet a first internal liner bottom seam 401a and/or a second internal liner bottom seam 401b.
Fabric
In some embodiments, various fabrics or combinations of fabrics may be used for each garment or garment component. For example, pants portion 100a may be comprised of a first fabric or combination of fabric. In another example, internal liner 201 may be comprised of a second fabric or combination of fabric. In some embodiments, pants portion 100a and internal liner 201 may be comprised of the same fabric or combination of fabrics. In some embodiments, pants portion 100a and internal liner 201 may be comprised of different fabrics or combination of fabrics.
In some embodiments, one or more type of fibers may be used in a fabric. In some examples, cotton, polyester, spandex, and rayon are types of fibers that may be used in a fabric. In some embodiments, combinations of fibers may be used in a fabric.
In some embodiments, pants portion 100a may be comprised of a fabric different from one used for internal liner 201.
In some embodiments, internal liner 201 may be comprised of a fabric suitable for an undergarment, such as a comfortable soft fabric. In some examples, a comfortable fabric may be cotton, silk, hemp, linen, merino wool, bamboo viscose, spandex, polyester, mesh, satin, or lace.
In some examples, a fabric may be comprised of a particular portion or proportion of cotton. Cotton may possess advantages such as breathability, durability, and/or resistant to static electricity buildup. Cotton is also considered biodegradable.
In some examples, a fabric may be comprised of a particular portion or proportion of polyester. Polyester may possess advantages such as durability and wrinkle-resistance. Polyester is not absorbent and shrinking and/or stain resistant. Polyester may also be a cheaper material relative to others.
In some examples, a fabric may be comprised of a particular portion or proportion of rayon. Rayon may possess advantages such as breathability, lightness, and/or softness.
In some examples, a fabric may be comprised of a particular portion or proportion of spandex and/or elastane. Spandex and/or elastane may possess advantages such as stretchability, strength, and lightness.
In some embodiments, various blends/proportions of any of the aforementioned fibers/materials may be used in fabrics. In one example, a 50/50 blend of polyester/cotton may be used in a fabric. In another example, a 50/50 blend of polyester/spandex may be used in a fabric. In another example, a scrubs fabric may contain 3-4% elastane.
In some embodiments, pants portion 100a may be comprised of 48% polyester, 48% cotton, and 4% elastane. In some embodiments, pants portion 100a may be comprised of 49% polyester, 49% cotton, and 2% elastane.
In some embodiments, pants portion 100a may be comprised of 48% rayon, 48% polyester, and 4% elastane. In some embodiments, pants portion 100a may be comprised of 49% rayon, 49% polyester, and 2% elastane.
Advantages
The embodiments described herein provide numerous advantages over existing technology.
In one example, embodiments described herein provide comfortability and can eliminate need for wearing underwear.
In another example, in some embodiments, an all-in-one design allows for more quickly dressing and/or “scrubbing in.”
In another example, in some embodiments, less layers allow for cooler temperature experience in, for example, fast-paced and/or hot work environments. In some examples this can eliminate or reduce chafing.
Many different embodiments have been disclosed herein, in connection with the above description and the drawings. It will be understood that it would be unduly repetitious and obfuscating to literally describe and illustrate every combination and subcombination of these embodiments.
