Claims
- 1. A coupling system for a flexible hose with corrugations and a hose end, which comprises:
- a) a fitting assembly including an inner fitting receiving the flexible hose and including an internally-threaded inner fitting bore and an externally-threaded outer fitting selectively threadedly connected with said inner fitting and including an outer fitting bore;
- b) a retainer/seal assembly including:
- 1) a retainer connected to said inner fitting and engaging said hose and retaining same in said inner fitting said retainer and said threaded connection between said fittings urging said hose end into engagement with said outer fitting; and
- 2) sealing ring means positioned in one of said fitting bores and adapted for engaging said hose and said one fitting for forming a fluid seal therebetween; and
- c) said sealing ring means being retained in said one fitting by said hose.
- 2. A sealing coupling system for corrugated flexible hose, which comprises:
- a) a base plate including:
- 1) inner and outer faces and a base plate opening;
- b) an inner fitting assembly mounted on said base plate and including a female-threaded bore aligned with said base plate opening;
- c) an outer fitting assembly including a male-threaded inner end threadably received in said inner fitting assembly bore;
- d) an annular seal received in said inner fitting assembly bore and engaging said inner fitting assembly and said flexible hose in sealing engagement, said annular seal being retained in said inner fitting assembly bore by said outer fitting assembly; and
- e) inner fitting assembly mounting means for mounting said inner fitting assembly on said base plate.
- 3. The sealed coupling system according to claim 2, which includes:
- (a) said inner fitting assembly having an inner end mounted on said base plate outer face and an outer end with said inner fitting assembly bore open thereat;
- (b) said inner fitting assembly including an annular shoulder extending radially inwardly from said inner fitting assembly threaded bore and forming an inner fitting assembly inner end opening generally aligned with said base plate opening;
- (c) said outer fitting assembly including inner and outer ends and a base; and
- (d) said seal engaging said inner fitting assembly shoulder and said outer fitting assembly inter end in a sealing relationship.
- 4. The sealed coupling system according to claim 3 wherein said annular seal includes:
- (a) an annular seal ring receiving said flexible hose and engaging said shoulder and said flexible hose;
- (b) an annular spacer engaging said seal ring;
- (c) an annular O-ring engaging said spacer, said inner fitting assembly, said outer fitting assembly and said flexible hose; and
- (d) said flexible hose extending through said seal ring, said spacer and said O-ring.
- 5. The sealed coupling system according to claim 3, which includes:
- (a) said flexible hose having an outer end;
- (b) said outer fitting assembly having an annular shoulder projecting radially inwardly into said outer fitting assembly bore; and
- (c) a sealing washer positioned in said outer fitting assembly bore in engagement with said outer fitting assembly shoulder, said flexible hose end abutting said sealing washer.
- 6. The sealed coupling system according to claim 2, which includes:
- (a) a retaining clip mounted on said flexible hose in engagement with said base plate inner face.
- 7. The sealed coupling system according to claim 6, wherein said retaining clip comprises an expandable washer with a body having a perimeter, a receiver and a slot extending from said body perimeter to said receiver.
- 8. The sealed coupling system according to claim 2 wherein:
- (a) said inner fitting assembly mounting means is soldier material and said assembly is soldered to said base plate outer face.
- 9. The sealed coupling system according to claim 2 wherein said inner fitting assembly mounting means is brazing material and said assembly is brazed to said base plate outer face.
