Abstract
A seat covering assembly for a deterring slippage of a user upon a bathing chair includes a seat panel, which is selectively engageable to a seat of a bathing chair so that the seat panel is removably engaged to the seat and substantially covers an upper surface of the seat. The seat panel frictionally engages skin of a user who is positioned upon the seat. The seat panel thus deters slippage of the user relative to the seat. The seat covering assembly also may comprise a back panel, which is selectively engageable to a backrest of the bathing chair so that the back panel is removably engaged to the backrest and substantially covers a front face of the backrest. The back panel frictionally engages the skin of the user and deters slippage of the user relative to the backrest.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
(1) Field of the Invention

The disclosure relates to covering assemblies and more particularly pertains to a new covering assembly for a deterring slippage of a user upon a bathing chair. The present invention discloses a covering assembly comprising a seat panel and a back panel configured to cover a seat and a backrest of a bathing chair, respectively. The seat panel and the back panel comprise terry cloth and are held in place by elastic bands. The seat panel and the back panel prevent the user from slipping off the chair during use.

(2) Description of Related Art Including Information Disclosed Under 37 CFR 1.97 and 1.98

The prior art relates to covering assemblies. Prior art covering assemblies for chairs are generally intended to increase comfort of a user or to improve aesthetic appearance. What is lacking in the prior art is a covering assembly for a bathing chair comprising a seat panel and a back panel configured to cover a seat and a backrest of the bathing chair, respectively. The seat panel and the back panel comprise terry cloth and are held in place by elastic bands. The seat panel and the back panel prevent the user from slipping off the chair during use.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a seat panel, which is configured to be selectively engaged to a seat of a bathing chair so that the seat panel is removably engaged to the seat and substantially covers an upper surface of the seat. The seat panel is configured to frictionally engage skin of a user who is positioned upon the seat. The seat panel thus is configured to deter slippage of the user relative to the seat.

The present invention also may comprise a back panel, which is configured to be selectively engaged to a backrest of the bathing chair so that the back panel is removably engaged to the backrest and substantially covers a front face of the backrest. The back panel also is configured to frictionally engage the skin of the user who is positioned upon the bathing chair. The back panel thus is configured to deter slippage of the user relative to the backrest.

There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.

The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWING(S)

The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:

FIG. 1 is an in-use view of a seat covering assembly according to an embodiment of the disclosure.

FIG. 2 is a front view of an embodiment of the disclosure.

FIG. 3 is a rear view of an embodiment of the disclosure.

FIG. 4 is a cross-sectional view of an embodiment of the disclosure.

FIG. 5 is an in-use view of an embodiment of the disclosure.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 5 thereof, a new covering assembly embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.

As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 6, the seat covering assembly 10 generally comprises a seat panel 12 and a back panel 14, which are configured to be selectively engaged to a seat 16 and a backrest 18 of a bathing chair 20, respectively. The seat panel 12 is removably engaged to the seat 16 so that the seat panel 12 substantially covers an upper surface 22 of the seat 16. The back panel 14 is removably is engaged to the backrest 18 so that the back panel 14 substantially covers a front face 24 of the backrest 18. The seat panel 12 and the back panel 14 are configured to frictionally engage skin of a user who is positioned upon the bathing chair 20. The seat panel 12 and the back panel 14 thus are configured to deter slippage of the user relative to the seat 16 and the backrest 18, respectively. The back panel 14 and the seat panel 12 comprise fabric, such as, but not limited to, terry cloth.

A fastener 26 is engaged to the seat panel 12 and is configured to selectively engage the seat 16 so that the seat panel 12 is removably engaged to the seat 16. The fastener 26 may comprise an elastic band 28, or other fastening means, such as, but not limited to, clips, ties, hook and loop fasteners, and the like. The elastic band 28 is engaged to and extends circumferentially around an outer edge 30 of the seat panel 12. The elastic band 28 is configured to be stretched to position the seat panel 12 over the upper surface 22 and around a perimeter edge 32 of the seat 16. The elastic band 28 is positioned to rebound to engage the seat panel 12 to the seat 16.

A connector 34 is engaged to the back panel 14 and is configured to selectively engage the backrest 18 so that the back panel 14 is removably engaged to the backrest 18. The connector 34 may comprise an elastomeric band 36, or other connecting means, such as, but not limited to, clips, ties, hook and loop fasteners, and the like. The elastomeric band 36 is engaged to and extends circumferentially around an exterior edge 38 of the back panel 14. The elastomeric band 36 is configured to be stretched to position the back panel 14 over the front face 24 and around a perimeter rim 40 of the backrest 18. The elastomeric band 36 is positioned to rebound to engage the back panel 14 to the backrest 18.

In use, the seat panel 12 and back panel 14 are stretched over the seat 16 and backrest 18 of the bathing chair 20, respectively. The user then can bath without slipping relative to the seat 16 and the backrest 18.

With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.

Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
