Claims
- 1. A security article comprising:
a light transmissive substrate having a first surface and an opposing second surface, the first surface having a diffraction grating pattern or a holographic image pattern formed thereon; and a color shifting multilayer optical film formed on the diffraction grating pattern or holographic image such that said film conforms to the shape of the diffraction grating pattern or holographic image pattern.
- 2. The security article of claim 1, wherein the shaped color shifting multilayer optical film comprises:
an absorber layer; a dielectric layer overlying the absorber layer; and a reflector layer overlying the dielectric layer.
- 3. The security article of claim 2, wherein the absorber layer is adjacent the first surface of the light transmissive substrate.
- 4. The security article of claim 2, wherein the reflector layer is adjacent the first surface of the light transmissive substrate.
- 5. The security article of claim 1, wherein the shaped color shifting multilayer optical film comprises:
a first absorber layer; a dielectric layer overlying the absorber layer; and a second absorber layer overlying the dielectric layer.
