Claims
- 1. A security article comprising:
a light transmissive substrate having a first surface and an opposing second surface, the first surface having a diffraction grating pattern or a holographic image pattern thereon; and a color shifting optical coating overlying the second surface of the substrate, said optical coating including a polymeric medium and a plurality of color shifting multilayer optical interference flakes dispersed in the polymeric medium.
- 2. The security article of claim 1, wherein at least some of the flakes comprise an absorber layer, a dielectric layer, and a reflector layer.
- 3. The security article of claim 1, wherein at least some of the flake comprise a first absorber layer, a dielectric layer, and a second absorber layer.
- 4. A security article comprising:
a light transmissive substrate having a first surface and an opposing second surface, the first surface having a diffraction grating pattern or a holographic image pattern thereon, said substrate having a plurality of color shifting flakes dispersed therein.
- 5. The security article of claim 4, wherein at least some of the flakes dispersed in the substrate comprise an absorber layer, a dielectric layer, and a reflector layer.
- 6. The security article of claim 1, wherein at least some of the flakes dispersed in the substrate comprise a first absorber layer, a dielectric layer, and a second absorber layer.
