Claims
- 1. A process for treating a self-compensating spiral for a mechanical spiral balance-wheel oscillator in watchwork or other precision instrument, said spiral having a TCE value and a torque value and said spiral being made of a paramagnetic alloy containing at least one of the elements Nb, V, Ta, Ti, Zr, Hf, said process comprising:subjecting said spiral to an anodizing treatment to cover said spiral with a substantially uniform oxide layer having a thickness greater than or equal to 20 nm.
- 2. The process according to claim 1, wherein a voltage of 10 to 35 v is applied in said anodizing treatment for a time of between 10 to 200 s.
- 3. The process according to claim 1, wherein said TCE value of said spiral is increased and said torque value of said spiral is reduced before said anodizing treatment, in order to compensate for their variations resulting from the reformation of said oxide layer.
- 4. The process according to claim 1, wherein said anodized spiral is subjected to an oven heat treatment between 100° and 250° C. for 1 to 24 h.
- 5. The process according to claim 2, wherein said TCE value of said spiral is increased and said torque value of said spiral is reduced before said anodizing treatment, in order to compensate for their variations resulting from the formation of said oxide layer.
- 6. The process according to claim 2, wherein said anodized spiral is subjected to an oven heat treatment between 100° and 250° C. for 1 to 24 h.
