Claims
- 1. A shaving razor, comprising:
a weighted base having a substantially rounded and convex exterior, and being of a mass and dimension to automatically orient said shaving razor in a vertical orientation when placed upon a horizontal surface; a razor blade spaced from said base, said razor including a cutting edge for shaving; and a handle extending between said base and said razor blade.
- 2. The shaving razor according to claim 1, wherein said handle has an exterior with a maximum diameter adjacent to said base, and a minimum diameter adjacent to said razor blade
- 3. The shaving razor according to claim 1, comprising a razor head for mounting said razor blade and wherein said handle is integrally connected to said base and said razor head.
- 4. The shaving razor according to claim 1, wherein an exterior of said handle is shaped to taper from a maximum diameter adjacent to said base to a minimum diameter adjacent to said razor blade.
- 5. The shaving razor according to claim 1, wherein said base and said handle have a common longitudinal axis that is substantially perpendicular to said horizontal surface when said shaving razor is in its upright position.
- 6. The shaving razor according to claim 5, wherein said exterior of said base and said handle are substantially symmetrical with respect to said longitudinal axis.
- 7. The shaving razor according to claim 6, wherein said exterior of said base is substantially hemispherical in shape.
- 8. The shaving razor according to claim 1, comprising a razor head for mounting said razor blade and wherein said handle has an upper portion which is integral with said razor head.
- 9. The shaving razor according to claim 8, wherein said base is composed of a plastic material on an outside thereof, and wherein said razor head and said handle are integrally formed from a plastic material.
- 10. The shaving razor as recited in claim 1, wherein said base comprises a hollow shell and a weight held within said hollow shell.
- 11. The shaving razor as recited in claim 1, comprising a razor head for mounting said razor blade and wherein said handle is formed in unitary fashion with said base and said razor head.
- 12. A shaving device, comprising:
a weighted base having a substantially rounded and convex exterior, and being of a mass and dimension to automatically orient said shaving device in a vertical orientation when placed upon a horizontal surface; a cutting member spaced from said base, said cutting member including a cutting edge for shaving; and a handle extending between said base and said cutting member.
- 13. The shaving device according to claim 12, wherein said handle has an exterior with a maximum diameter adjacent to said base, and a minimum diameter adjacent to said razor blade
- 14. The shaving device according to claim 12, comprising a shaving head connected to said handle for mounting said cutting member.
- 15. The shaving device according to claim 12, wherein said base and said handle have a common longitudinal axis that is substantially perpendicular to said horizontal surface when said shaving device is in its upright position.
- 16. The shaving device according to claim 12, wherein said exterior of said base and said handle are substantially symmetrical with respect to said longitudinal axis.
- 17. The shaving device according to claim 12, wherein said exterior of said base is substantially hemispherical in shape.
- 18. The shaving device according to claim 12, comprising a motor and wherein said cutting member is driven by said motor, said motor at least partially housed within a space defined by said handle and said base.
- 19. The shaving device as recited in claim 18, wherein said motor is driven by a battery, and said battery is at least partially housed within a space defined by said handle and said base.
