Claims
- 1. A separator for gaseous fluids containing liquid or solid contaminants comprising first section parts and second section parts, each of said parts being open and trough-shaped in cross section, said first parts being arranged in a first row, said second parts being arranged in a second row opposite said first row, each of said parts having free longitudinal edges, said edges of said first parts overlapping, partially enclosing, and spaced apart from said edges of said second parts, at least some of said first parts having a longitudinal protrusion emanating from the area of said first part not overlapped by said second parts, at least some of said second parts having a longitudinal protrusion emanating from the area of said second part not overlapped by said first parts whereby chambers or passages of different sizes are formed in said separator, and the flow rate of said fluids is varied,
- wherein each of said longitudinal protrusions penetrate into a recess of a holding element, whereby each of said section parts is fixed.
- 2. The separator of claim 1 wherein said holding elements at least partially encircle outer surfaces of said section parts, said section parts being open to directly face ascending fluids.
- 3. A separator for gaseous fluids containing liquid or solid contaminants comprising first section parts and second section parts, each of said parts being open and trough-shaped in cross section, said first parts being arranged in a first row, said second parts being arranged in a second row opposite said first row, each of said parts having free longitudinal edges, said edges of said first parts overlapping, partially enclosing, and spaced apart from said edges of said second parts, at least some of said first parts having a longitudinal protrusion emanating from the area of said first part not overlapped by said second parts, at least some of said second parts having a longitudinal protrusion emanating from the area of said second part not overlapped by said first parts whereby chambers or passages of different sizes are formed in said separator, and the flow rate of said fluids is varied,
- wherein said section parts are retained by a holder comprising a plurality of individual elements adapted to be juxtaposed in a row, each of said elements comprising first and second resilient strips which emanate from and are angled to a base element, wherein said first strips partially encircle said section parts and said second strips grip said longitudinal protrusions.
