- 10. A double sewing needle mechanism as claimed in claim 9 wherein
- the locking member has a end portion formed such that it engages the detent-means recess at an angle inclined to the axis.
- 11. A double sewing needle mechanism as claimed in claim 10 wherein
- the end portion of the locking member is rounded, and
- the detent means has a straight surface adjacent the detent means recess such that the rounded end portion engages the straight surface.
- 12. A sewing apparatus guide for two opposing folded edges of respective article portions comprising
- a scroll having a pair of opposed concave surfaces forming channels for receiving the folded edges,
- a pair of folder plates each having an edge extending into a respective channel of the scroll for guiding the folded edges,
- a pair of members each for engaging the inside of a respective one of the folded edges, and
- means mounted on each of the folder plates for biasing each of the members in a direction toward each other.
- 13. A guide as claimed in claim 12 which includes
- means for movably mounting the pair of folder plates, and
- means for moving the edges of the folder plates out of the scroll channels.
- 14. A sewing apparatus including the guide as claimed in claim 12 and means for sewing a ribbon-like material to the folded portions of the article, wherein the members are spaced such as to guide the folded edges into abutment.
- 15. A sewing apparatus as claimed in claim 14 wherein
- the ribbon-like material is a fastener chain having a pair of tapes, and
- the sewing means includes means for stitching each of the tapes to a respective folded portion of the article.
