Claims
- 1. A liquid shampoo composition consisting essentially of from 5 to 25% by weight of a water-soluble, synthetic, organic, anionic surface active agent effective for shampooing hair selected from the group consisting of alkali metal, ammonium and alkylol amine salts of alkyl sulfates, alkyl ether sulfates, alkyl sulfonates, alkyl benzene sulfonates and .alpha.-olefin sulfonates, from 0.1 to 5.0% by weight of a cationic surface active agent having the formula (I): ##STR12## wherein R.sub.1 is alkyl having 16 to 22 carbon atoms, R.sub.2 is methyl, ethyl or alkyl having 16 to 22 carbon atoms, X is halogen, methyl sulfate or ethyl sulfate, and m and n each is a number of at least one and the sum of n and m is in the range of from 5 to 30,
- from 0.1 to 3.0% by weight of oleic acid monoglyceride, and the balance is essentially water.
- 2. A shampoo composition as set forth in claim 1 wherein the amount of the anionic surface active agent is from 10 to 20% by weight, the amount of the cationic surface active agent is from 0.5 to 3.0% by weight and the amount of said oleic acid monoglyceride is 0.3 to 1.0% by weight.
- 3. A shampoo composition as set forth in claim 1 wherein R.sub.1 is stearyl and R.sub.2 is methyl.
- 4. A shampoo composition as set forth in claim 3 wherein the anionic surface active agent is triethanolamine lauryl sulfate.
