- a receptive layer comprising a resin formed on the first side of the base sheet for receiving a dye transferred from the heat transfer sheet upon heating by dot-wise heating means in accordance with image and/or character information; and
- a physically detectable mark formed on the second side of the base sheet.
- 2. The dye-receiving sheet of claim 1, wherein the physically detectable mark is provided on at least a part of the base sheet.
- 3. The dye-receiving sheet of claim 1, wherein the dye-receiving sheet comprises a separate sheet.
- 4. The dye-receiving sheet of claim 1, wherein the physically detectable mark comprises a magnetically, optically or mechanically detectable mark.
- 5. The dye-receiving sheet of claim 1, wherein the physically detectable mark comprises a stripe pattern, matrix pattern, character pattern or a combination thereof.
- 6. The dye-receiving sheet of claim 1, wherein the physically detectable mark comprises information concerning at least one aspect of the sheet selected from the group consisting of front and back, direction of the sheet, residual amount of the sheet, relative positions of respective sheets, grade, type, color of the sheet and recording initiating position.
