Claims
- 1. A sheet reversing apparatus for a sheet-fed rotary press with reversing mechanism, comprising:
- a paper convey cylinder disposed between an upstream cylinder and a downstream cylinder, respectively, relative to a paper convey direction wherein there is a first contact point between the paper convey cylinder and the upstream cylinder and a second contact point between the paper convey cylinder and the downstream cylinder;
- a reversing mechanism, disposed in a gap formed on an outer surface of said paper convey cylinder, for transferring a paper sheet wound on said upstream cylinder to said downstream cylinder, said reversing mechanism having a reversing gripper unit and a paper trailing end holding member disposed adjacent to said reversing gripper unit for holding a trailing end of said paper sheet when the trailing end of said paper sheet passes through said first contact point, said paper trailing end holding member further having a first position wherein said paper trailing end holding member lags said reversing gripper unit relative to said rotation direction of said paper convey cylinder and a second position wherein said paper trailing end holding member leads said reversing gripper unit relative to said rotation direction of said paper convey cylinder; and
- a driving mechanism for driving said paper trailing end holding member so as to project or retreat said paper trailing end holding member with respect to the outer surface of said paper convey cylinder while rotating in accordance with the movement of said paper convey cylinder;
- wherein said paper trailing end holding member is retreated from the outer surface of said paper convey cylinder when said paper trailing end holding member passes through said first contact point and said second contact point.
- 2. An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said paper trailing end holding member is constituted by a plurality of suckers for drawing and holding said trailing end of said paper sheet, said suckers being aligned in said gap along the axial direction of said paper convey cylinder at a predetermined interval.
- 3. An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said paper trailing end holding member is moved on said circumference of said paper convey cylinder such that a suction surface with respect to said paper sheet becomes parallel to a tangent direction of said upstream cylinder upon holding said trailing end of said paper sheet in accordance with the pivotal movement of said paper convey cylinder.
- 4. An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said reversing mechanism has a reversing gripper unit, disposed near said paper trailing end holding member in said gap, for gripping said paper sheet held by said paper trailing end holding member, and said paper trailing end holding member is moved on said circumference of said paper convey cylinder to go over said reversing gripper unit in a pivotal direction of said paper convey cylinder while rotating in accordance with the pivotal movement of said paper convey cylinder.
- 5. An apparatus according to claim 4, wherein said paper trailing end holding member is positioned after said reversing gripper unit in a rotation direction of said paper convey cylinder when said paper sheet is held, said paper trailing end holding member is moved before said reversing gripper unit in the rotation direction of said paper convey cylinder by going over said reversing gripper unit, and is positioned after said reversing gripper unit in the rotation direction of said paper trailing unit to hold the next paper sheet.
- 6. An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said driving mechanism comprises:
- a moving unit for performing a moving operation of said paper trailing end holding member which projects or retreats along an arc with respect to the outer surface of said paper convey cylinder in accordance with the pivotal movement of said paper convey cylinder, and
- a pivoting unit for performing a pivoting operation of said paper trailing end holding member in accordance with the pivotal movement of said paper convey cylinder.
- 7. An apparatus according to claim 6, wherein said paper trailing end holding member is provided to a support shaft pivotally supported at two ends, and said moving unit is constituted by a cam mechanism operated in accordance with the pivotal movement of said paper convey cylinder, a pair of drive levers, swung in accordance with an operation of said cam mechanism, for supporting said support shaft at free end portions, an arcuated segment gear having an arc smaller than said circumference of said paper convey cylinder, and an intermediate gear pivotally mounted at said free end portion of each of said drive levers and engaged with said segment gear.
- 8. An apparatus according to claim 7, wherein said pivoting unit is constituted by a drive gear fixed to said support shaft and meshed with said intermediate gear to pivot said support shaft.
- 9. A sheet reversing apparatus for a sheet-fed rotary press with a reversing mechanism, comprising:
- a paper convey cylinder disposed between an upstream cylinder and a downstream cylinder, respectively, with respect to a paper convey direction;
- a reversing mechanism, disposed in a gap formed on an outer surface of said paper convey cylinder, for transferring a paper sheet wound on said upstream cylinder to said downstream cylinder, said reversing mechanism having a paper trailing end holding member for holding a trailing end of said paper sheet to reverse said paper sheet when the trailing end of said paper sheet passes through a contact point between said paper convey cylinder and said upstream cylinder,
- a support shaft pivotally supported at two ends, and coupled to said paper trailing end holding member; and
- a driving mechanism for driving said paper trailing end holding member so as to project or retreat said paper trailing end holding member with respect to the outer surface of said paper convey cylinder while rotating in accordance with a pivotal movement of said paper convey cylinder, wherein said driving mechanism has a moving unit that includes a cam mechanism operated in accordance with the pivotal movement of said paper convey cylinder, and a pair of drive levers that support said support shaft at free end portions and pivot in accordance with an operation of said cam mechanism;
- wherein said paper trailing end holding member is retreated from the outer surface of said paper convey cylinder when said paper trailing end holding member passes through said first contact point and said second contact point.
- 10. The sheet reversing apparatus of claim 9, wherein said moving unit of said driving mechanism includes a segment gear having an arc smaller than said circumference of said paper convey cylinder, and an intermediate gear pivotally mounted at said free end portion of each of said drive levers and engaged with said segment gear.
- 11. An apparatus according to claim 10, wherein said driving mechanism comprises a drive gear fixed to said support shaft and meshed with said intermediate gear to pivot said support shaft.
