Claims
- 1. A sheet sorting device for sorting sheets conveyed onto multi-stage bin trays, comprising:
- a plurality of bin trays provided in multiple stages;
- a support member supporting said bin trays and vertically movable;
- drive means for moving said support member and the fore end of each bin tray for receiving sheets as well as the end of each bin tray remote there from up and down; and
- a spring member for suspending said support member from the sheet sorting device and receiving substantially the combined load of said support member and said bin trays to offset said combined load which otherwise would be applied to said drive means.
- 2. A sheet sorting device according to claim 1, wherein said spring member is substantially balanced with the load of said support member when said support member is in an upper end position, and stretches and becomes somewhat stronger when said supporting member is in a lower end position.
- 3. A sheet sorting device according to claim 2, wherein said spring has a small spring constant and the variation in load relative to the amount of flexure thereof is small.
- 4. A sheet sorting device according to claim 3, further provided with moving means for vertically moving the sheet carry-in side of said bin trays to enlarge the spacing on the sheet carry-in side of said bin trays at a sheet carry-in position, said moving means being controlled by said drive means.
- 5. A sheet sorting device according to claim 4, wherein said support member is a frame member supporting the fore and rear ends of said bin trays and is generally moved by the moving force at the fore end of said bin trays.
- 6. A sheet sorting device according to claim 5, wherein said moving means is rotating means for engaging the fore end of said bin trays and moving the same.
- 7. A sheet sorting device according to claim 6, wherein said rotating means is spiral cam means and said bin trays are provided with cam followers engaging said spiral cam means.
- 8. A sheet sorting device according to claim 7, wherein when one of said cam followers is moved up by said spiral cam means, the cam follower overlying said one cam follower is pushed up, whereby said support member is moved up.
