The present invention relates to bras and, more particularly, to a shirt with an affixed interior bra.
Women have been uncomfortable wearing bras for a long time. The bra straps are tight and uncomfortable and leave marks. Unhooking the bra is difficult. You must reach behind your back with both hands and unhook it or remove the straps from over your shoulder and then twist the back of the bra around to the front to unhook the back straps. No bra is attached to a shirt, giving it the ability to be worn in a more comfortable way.
As can be seen, there is a need for a comfortable bra attached to a shirt that is easy to don and doff.
In one aspect of the present invention, a garment comprises sleeves extending from a torso with a chest portion, a back portion, and a neckline, as well as a built-in bra. The built-in bra comprises a cup panel configured to cradle a user's breasts; and an underband joined to a base of the cup panel, extending under the sleeves, encircling the torso, and branching to form a counterclockwise-rotated D-shape that extends to the neckline.
The inventive shirt bra improves comfort and makes wearing and taking off the bra easy.
These and other features, aspects and advantages of the present invention will become better understood with reference to the following drawings, description, and claims.
The following detailed description is of the best currently contemplated modes of carrying out exemplary embodiments of the invention. The description is not to be taken in a limiting sense but is made merely for the purpose of illustrating the general principles of the invention, since the scope of the invention is best defined by the appended claims.
Broadly, one embodiment of the present invention is a bra shirt, reconfiguring the bra to have top straps attached from the front of the bra and looping under the arm to meet in the upper back part of the shirt.
In some embodiments, the bra shirt has a cup panel that may be formed as one piece or may be two cups joined at a center point.
In other embodiments, cups are absent from the bra shirt. In these embodiments, the underband and back straps provide structure to the garment fabric so that the wearer's breasts are supported.
The bra shirt of the present subject matter may be manufactured by producing a shirt and the bra components, including bra straps attached to each side of bra cups, and sewing the bra components to the inside of the shirt to hold everything together, lending firmness to the garment. The straps may be attached to the back of the shirt, extending up to the upper middle part of the back, where the straps may be joined.
The bra shirt may be donned in the same way as a prior art shirt.
