Claims
- 1. In the processing of fantail shrimp, the steps of
- advancing ventrally impaled deheaded shrimp along a predetermined path;
- longitudinally severing the abdominal membrane of said ventrally impaled shrimp while preventing decrease in the depth of impalement; and
- pneumatically separating the shell portions of said membrane severed shrimp from the impaled meat portion thereof.
- 2. The method as set forth in claim 1 wherein said pneumatic separation of said shell includes the step of pneumatically displacing said shell in a ventral to dorsal direction relative to the impaled shrimp meat.
- 3. The method as set forth in claim 2 including the step of rupturing the condyle joints by displacement of the fifth shell segment relative to the sixth shell segment about a dorsally located fulcrum point.
- 4. In the processing of fantail shrimp the steps of
- pneumatically advancing deheaded shrimp into a predetermined attitude within a position defining channel and ventrally impaling such advanced shrimp on a transport member for further advance thereof.
