Claims
- 1. A covering for architectural openings, comprising:
a head rail having first and second ends and defining a longitudinal axis and first and second lateral edges; at least a first bracket for mounting said head rail to the architectural opening, said first bracket including first and second slots; a first pin, mounted to a first end of said head rail and substantially aligned with said longitudinal axis, said first pin being received in said first slot; and a second pin, mounted to the first end of said head rail and near one of said lateral edges, said second pin being received in said second slot, wherein the shifting of said pins in their respective slots defines a tilted open position and a first tilted closed position, with said first pin located closer to said second slot in the first tilted closed position than in the tilted open position.
- 2. A covering for architectural openings as recited in claim 1, wherein said second slot defines an arc, which lies on an imaginary circle, and said first slot defines a portion of a radius of said circle.
- 3. A covering for architectural openings, comprising:
a head rail having first and second ends and defining a longitudinal axis and first and second lateral edges; at least a first bracket for mounting said head rail to the architectural opening, said first bracket including means for shifting said head rail away from said bracket as the head rail is tilted to an open position and for shifting said head rail toward said bracket as the head rail is tilted to a closed position.
- 4. A covering for an architectural opening, comprising:
a head rail defining a longitudinal axis, said head rail having front and rear edges, substantially parallel to said longitudinal axis, and first and second lateral ends; at least a first bracket for mounting said head rail to the architectural opening, said first bracket including means for shifting said head rail forwardly relative to said bracket as the head rail is tilted to an open position and for shifting said head rail rearwardly relative to said bracket as the head rail is tilted to a closed position.
- 5. A covering for an architectural opening as recited in claim 4, wherein said head rail has a centroid and said longitudinal axis coincides with the centroid of said head rail, and including means for pivoting said head rail along said centroid as said head rail is tilted from an open position to a closed position.
- 6. A covering for an architectural opening as recited in claim 5, including means for causing said centroid of said head rail to travel in a substantially straight line as said head rail is tilted from an open position to a closed position.
- 7. A covering for architectural openings, comprising
a head rail; a tilt bar pivotably mounted to said head rail; a lift cord extending along said head rail and along said tilt bar; and a handle slidably mounted on said tilt bar and engaging said lift cord for raising and lowering the covering.
- 8. A covering for architectural openings, comprising:
a head rail defining forward and rear lateral edges and a longitudinal pivot axis; a bracket for pivotably mounting said head rail in the architectural opening; forward and rear tilt cords; forward and rear mounts which are received in the forward and rear lateral edges of said head rail, each of said mounts defining a guide path for a tilt cable and a guide path for a lift cord.
