Claims
- 1. A signal transmitting device comprising:
- a main transmission line terminated by elements each having a resistance substantially equal to an impedance value of said main transmission line itself;
- a first circuit block connected to said main transmission line, said first circuit block including a driving circuit for driving a signal, and a first intra-block transmission line with a predetermined impedance for transmitting the signal outputted from said driving circuit to said main transmission line, said first circuit block including an element having a resistance substantially equal to a value derived by subtracting a half of an impedance of said main transmission line from the predetermined impedance of said first intra-block transmission line; and
- at least one second circuit block connected to said main transmission line, said at least one second circuit block including a receiving circuit for receiving a signal; a second intra-block transmission line with a predetermined impedance for transmitting a signal inputted from said main transmission line to said receiving circuit, said second circuit block including an element having a resistance substantially equal to a value derived by subtracting a half an impedance of said main transmission line from said predetermined impedance of said second intra-block transmission line, and
- wherein an impedance value of said first and second intra-block transmission lines is larger than an impedance value of said main transmission line.
- 2. A signal transmitting device comprising:
- a main transmission line being terminated by elements each having a resistance substantially equal to an impedance value of said main transmission line;
- first and second circuit blocks connected to said main transmission line, each of said blocks having a driving and receiving circuit for driving and receiving a signal, and an intra-block transmission line having a predetermined impedance for transmitting a signal between said main transmission line and said driving and receiving circuit, each of said circuit blocks also having an element having a resistance substantially equal to a value derived by subtracting a half of an impedance of said main transmission line from said predetermined impedance of said intra-block transmission line;
- a mother board on which said main transmission line is formed; and
- first and second daughter boards connected to said mother board, each of said daughter boards having said intra-block transmission line formed as a printed wiring and said driving circuit and said receiving circuit mounted thereon,
- wherein an impedance value of each of said intra-block transmission lines is larger than an impedance value of said main transmission line.
- 3. A signal transmitting device comprising:
- a main transmission line being terminated by elements each having a resistance substantially equal to an impedance value of said main transmission line;
- first and second circuit blocks connected to said main transmission line, each of said blocks having a driving and receiving circuit for driving and receiving a signal, and an intra-block transmission line having a predetermined impedance for transmitting a signal between said main transmission line and said driving and receiving circuit, each of said circuit blocks also having an element having a resistance substantially equal to a value derived by subtracting a half of an impedance of said main transmission line from said predetermined impedance of said intra-block transmission line;
- wherein said intra-block transmission line of said circuit block further comprises a circuit for changing the amplitude of the signal outputted from the driving circuit to have a predetermined one of a plurality of different signal amplitudes on the main transmission line, and
- wherein an impedance value of each of said intra-block transmission lines is larger than an impedance value of said main transmission line.
- 4. A signal transmitting device comprising:
- a main transmission line being terminated by elements each having a resistance substantially equal to an impedance value of said main transmission line;
- first and second circuit blocks connected to said main transmission line, each of said blocks having a driving and receiving circuit for driving and receiving a signal, and an intra-block transmission line having a predetermined impedance for transmitting a signal between said main transmission line and said driving and receiving circuit, each of said circuit blocks also having an element having a resistance substantially equal to a value derived by subtracting a half of an impedance of said main transmission line from said predetermined impedance of said intra-block transmission line;
- wherein intra-block transmission line of said circuit block further comprises a circuit for changing the amplitude of the signal outputted from the driving circuit to have a predetermined one of a plurality of different signal amplitudes on the main transmission line,
- wherein said circuit for changing the signal amplitude is composed of a capacitance element located in parallel to the element provided in said intra-block transmission line and a switch element for switching said capacitance element on and off, said switch element being closed when the signal is driven and being opened a certain time later than after the signal is driven, and
- wherein an impedance value of each of said intra-block transmission lines is larger than an impedance value of said main transmission line.
- 5. A signal transmitting device comprising:
- a main transmission line, said main transmission line being terminated at both ends thereof with the same termination voltage; and
- a circuit block connected with said main transmission line;
- said circuit block comprising:
- a driving circuit including an output circuit of a push-pull type for driving a signal,
- a receiving circuit including a differential input circuit for receiving a signal,
- sub-transmission lines connected to said main transmission line and each of said driving circuit and said receiving circuit, and
- a resistor connected between said main transmission line and each of said sub-transmission lines, said resistor having a resistance value to provide impedance matching between the main transmission line and the sub-transmission lines to suppress reflections at branch points between the main transmission line and the sub-transmission lines,
- wherein an impedance value of each of said sub-transmission lines is larger than an impedance value of said main transmission line.
- 6. A signal transmitting device comprising:
- a main transmission line, said main transmission line being terminated at one end thereof;
- a signal driving circuit block connected with said main transmission line,
- said signal driving circuit block comprising:
- a driving circuit including an output circuit of a push-pull type for driving a signal,
- a first sub-transmission line connected to said main transmission line and the output circuit of said driving circuit, and
- a resistor connected between said main transmission line and said first sub-transmission line, said resistor having a resistance value to provide impedance matching between the main transmission line and the first sub-transmission line to suppress reflections at a branch point between the main transmission line and the first sub-transmission line; and
- a signal receiving block connecting with said main transmission line, said signal receiving block comprising:
- a receiving circuit including a differential input circuit for receiving a signal,
- a second sub-transmission line connected to said main transmission line and said receiving circuit, and
- a resistor connected between said main transmission line and said second sub-transmission line, said resistor having a resistance value to provide impedance matching between the main transmission line and the second sub-transmission line to suppress reflections at a branch point between the main transmission line and the second sub-transmission line,
- wherein an impedance value of said first and second sub-transmission lines is larger than an impedance value of said main transmission line.
- 7. A signal transmitting device comprising:
- a main transmission line terminated at one end or both ends thereof with the same termination voltage;
- a driving and receiving circuit for driving and receiving a signal;
- a stubline for connecting said driving and receiving circuit and said main transmission line; and
- a resistor inserted between said main transmission line and said stubline, said resistor having a resistance value to provide impedance matching between the main transmission line and the stubline to suppress reflections at a branch point between the main transmission line and the stubline,
- wherein an impedance value of said stubline line is larger than an impedance value of said main transmission line.
- 8. A signal transmitting device comprising:
- a main transmission line terminated at one end or both ends thereof with the same termination voltage;
- a driving circuit for driving a signal;
- a stubline for transmitting the signal output from said driving circuit to said main transmission line; and
- a resistor inserted between said main transmission line and said stubline, said resistor having a resistance value to provide impedance matching between the main transmission line and the stubline to suppress reflections at a branch point between the main transmission line and the stubline,
- wherein an impedance value of said intra-stubline transmission line is larger than an impedance value of said main transmission line.
