Claims
- 1. A compound of formula I, its optical isomers and mixtures thereof, an agriculturally suitable salt thereof and a quaternization product thereof, ##STR771## wherein: M is Si;
- R.sup.1 is a radical of formula A ##STR772## R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 independently of one another are (C.sub.1 -C.sub.3)alkyl, (C.sub.2 -C.sub.8)alkenyl, (C.sub.1 -C.sub.2)haloalkyl, phenyl, or R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 taken together form an alkylene chain which, together with the quaternary central atom M, forms an unsubstituted or fluorine-substituted ring having four to six ring members;
- R.sup.4 is H, F, --CN, --CCl.sub.3, --C.tbd.CH, (C.sub.1 -C.sub.4)alkyl or --C(.dbd.S)--NH.sub.2 ;
- R.sup.5 is pyridyl, furyl, thienyl, all of which can be substituted by alkoxy, aryloxy or halogen, or is phthalimidyl, di(C.sub.1 -C.sub.4)alkylmaleimidyl, thiophthalimidyl, dihydrophthalimidyl, tetrahydrophthalimidyl or phenyl substituted by alkoxy, aryloxy or halogen, or
- R.sup.4 and R.sup.5, together with the carbon atom bridging them, form an indanyl or cyclopentenyl radical, which radicals can be unsubstituted or substituted by alkoxy, aryloxy or halogen;
- R.sup.6, R.sup.7 and R.sup.8 independently of one another are (C.sub.1 -C.sub.5)alkyl, halogen, (C.sub.2 -C.sub.6)alkenyl, (C.sub.2 -C.sub.6)alkynyl, (C.sub.3 -C.sub.7)cycloalkyl, (C.sub.1 -C.sub.3)alkoxy, (C.sub.2 -C.sub.4)alkenyloxy, (C.sub.2 -C.sub.4)alkynyloxy, (C.sub.1 -C.sub.4)alkylthio, (C.sub.3 -C.sub.6)cycloalkyloxy, (C.sub.1 -C.sub.4)haloalkyl, (C.sub.1 -C.sub.3)haloalkoxy, (C.sub.1 -C.sub.3)haloalkylthio, (C.sub.2 -C.sub.5)haloalkenyl, (C.sub.2 -C.sub.5)haloalkenyloxy, (C.sub.2 -C.sub.5)haloalkenylthio, or two of the radicals R.sup.6, R.sup.7 and R.sup.8, when they are in the ortho position, form a methylenedioxy, ethylenedioxy or (C.sub.3 -C.sub.5)alkylene radical; and
- m, n, and o are 0, 1 or 2 provided that 0.ltoreq.m+n+o.ltoreq.3.
- 2. A compound of formula I as claimed in claim 1,
- wherein
- R.sup.5 is a radical of formula B ##STR773## where R.sup.10 is H or 4-fluorine, R.sup.12 and R.sup.13 independently of one another are H, halogen, (C.sub.1 -C.sub.4) alkyl, (C.sub.1 -C.sub.4)alkoxy or (C.sub.1 -C.sub.4)haloalkyl and r and s are 0, 1 or 2 provided that r+s is 0, 1 or 2; or R.sup.5 is a radical of formula C ##STR774## where R.sup.14 is F, Cl, Br, (C.sub.1 -C.sub.4) alkyl, (C.sub.1 -C.sub.4)alkoxy or (C.sub.1 -C.sub.4)haloalkyl and Hal is F or H; or R.sup.5 is a radical of formula D ##STR775## where Z is O or S and R.sup.15 is H, halogen, (C.sub.1 -C.sub.4) alkyl, (C.sub.1 -C.sub.4)alkoxy or (C.sub.1 -C.sub.4)haloalkyl, CN or NO.sub.2.
- 3. A compound of Formula I as claimed in claim 1, wherein
- R.sup.1 is ##STR776## R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are CH.sub.3 ; R.sup.4 is H; and R.sup.5 is ##STR777##
- 4. An insecticidal, acaricidal or nematocidal composition comprising an effective amount of a compound of formula I ##STR778## wherein: M is Si;
- R.sup.1 is a radical of formula A ##STR779## R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 independently of one another are (C.sub.1 -C.sub.3)alkyl, (C.sub.2 -C.sub.8)alkenyl, (C.sub.1 -C.sub.2)haloalkyl, phenyl, or R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 taken together form an alkylene chain which, together with the quaternary central atom M, forms an unsubstituted or fluorine-substituted ring having four to six ring members;
- R.sup.4 is H, F, --CN, --CCl.sub.3, --C.tbd.CH, (C.sub.1 -C.sub.4)alkyl or --C(.dbd.S)--NH.sub.2 ;
- R.sup.5 is pyridyl, furyl, thienyl, all of which can be substituted by alkoxy, aryloxy or halogen, or is phthalimidyl, di(C.sub.1 -C.sub.4)alkylmaleimidyl, thiophthalimidyl, dihydrophthalimidyl, tetrahydrophthalimidyl or phenyl substituted by alkoxy, aryloxy or halogen, or
- R.sup.4 and R.sup.5, together with the carbon atom bridging them, form an indanyl or cyclopentenyl radical, which radicals can be unsubstituted or substituted by alkoxy, aryloxy or halogen;
- R.sup.6, R.sup.7 and R.sup.8 independently of one another are (C.sub.1 -C.sub.5)alkyl, halogen, (C.sub.2 -C.sub.6)alkenyl, (C.sub.2 -C.sub.6)alkynyl, (C.sub.3 -C.sub.7)cycloalkyl, (C.sub.1 -C.sub.3)alkoxy, (C.sub.2 -C.sub.4)alkenyloxy, (C.sub.2 -C.sub.4)alkynyloxy, (C.sub.1 -C.sub.4)alkylthio, (C.sub.3 -C.sub.6)cycloalkyloxy, (C.sub.1 -C.sub.4)haloalkyl, (C.sub.1 -C.sub.3)haloalkoxy, (C.sub.1 -C.sub.3)haloalkylthio, (C.sub.2 -C.sub.5)haloalkenyl, (C.sub.2 -C.sub.5)haloalkenyloxy, (C.sub.2 -C.sub.5)haloalkenylthio, or two of the radicals R.sup.6, R.sup.7 and R.sup.8, when they are in the ortho position, form a methylenedioxy, ethylenedioxy or (C.sub.3 -C.sub.5)alkylene radical; and
- m, n, and o are 0, 1 or 2 provided that 0.ltoreq.m+n+o.ltoreq.3, and a suitable carrier therefor.
- 5. A method for controlling insects, acarids or nematodes which comprises applying an effective amount of a compound of formula I ##STR780## wherein: M is Si;
- R.sup.1 is a radical of formula A ##STR781## R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 independently of one another are (C.sub.1 -C.sub.3)alkyl, (C.sub.2 -C.sub.8)alkenyl, (C.sub.1 -C.sub.2)haloalkyl, phenyl, or R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 taken together form an alkylene chain which, together with the quaternary central atom M, forms an unsubstituted or fluorine-substituted ring having four to six ring members;
- R.sup.4 is H, F, --CN, --CCl.sub.3, --C.tbd.CH, (C.sub.1 -C.sub.4)alkyl or --C(.dbd.S)--NH.sub.2 ;
- R.sup.5 is pyridyl, furyl, thienyl, all of which can be substituted by alkoxy, aryloxy or halogen, or is phthalimidyl, di(C.sub.1 -C.sub.4)alkylmaleimidyl, thiophthalimidyl, dihydrophthalimidyl, tetrahydrophthalimidyl or phenyl substituted by alkoxy, aryloxy or halogen, or
- R.sup.4 and R.sup.5, together with the carbon atom bridging them, form an indanyl or cyclopentenyl radical, which radicals can be unsubstituted or substituted by alkoxy, aryloxy or halogen;
- R.sup.6, R.sup.7 and R.sup.8 independently of one another are (C.sub.1 -C.sub.5)alkyl, halogen, (C.sub.2 -C.sub.6)alkenyl, (C.sub.2 -C.sub.6)alkynyl, (C.sub.3 -C.sub.7)cycloalkyl, (C.sub.1 -C.sub.3)alkoxy, (C.sub.2 -C.sub.4)alkenyloxy, (C.sub.2 -C.sub.4)alkynyloxy, (C.sub.1 -C.sub.4)alkylthio, (C.sub.3 -C.sub.6)cycloalkyloxy, (C.sub.1 -C.sub.4)haloalkyl, (C.sub.1 -C.sub.3)haloalkoxy, (C.sub.1 -C.sub.3)haloalkylthio, (C.sub.2 -C.sub.5)haloalkenyl, (C.sub.2 -C.sub.5)haloalkenyloxy, (C.sub.2 -C.sub.5)haloalkenylthio, or two of the radicals R.sup.6, R.sup.7 and R.sup.8, when they are in the ortho position, form a methylenedioxy, ethylenedioxy or (C.sub.3 -C.sub.5)alkylene radical; and
- m, n, and o are 0, 1 or 2 provided that 0.ltoreq.m+n+o.ltoreq.3, to an insect, acarid or nematode or to an area, plant or substrate infested with said insect, acarid or nematode.
