Claims
- 1. A thermally crystallizable glass consisting essentially, by weight, of about 40-80% SiO.sub.2, 3.5-17% N, said SiO.sub.2 and N constituting at least 50% by weight of the glass composition, and at least 15% M.sub.x O.sub.y, wherein M.sub.x O.sub.y consists of about 10-40% Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 and 5-25% of at least one oxide selected from the group consisting of the alkali metal oxides, the oxides of the elements of Group IIA and IIB of the Periodic Table, and B.sub.2 O.sub.3.
- 2. A thermally crystallizable glass according to claim 3 wherein M.sub.x O.sub.y consists of about 10-40% Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 and not more than 20% of the oxides of the elements of Groups IIA and IIB of the Periodic Table and/or not more than 12% Li.sub.2 O.
