Claims
- 1. A process for treating a textile material which comprises coating a textile material with a composition containing a silicone polyether copolymer having the general formula ##STR22## where R is a radical selected from the group consisting of ##STR23## in which the radical R is linked to the polyether through an ester linkage, R.sup.1 is a divalent hydrocarbon radical selected from the group consisting of (--CH.sub.2).sub.y, --CH.dbd.CH-- and a cyclic radical selected from the group consisting of C.sub.6 H.sub.4, C.sub.6 H.sub.8 and C.sub.10 H.sub.6 ; A is a silicone containing monovalent or divalent radical selected from the group consisting of ##STR24## R.sup.2 is selected from the group consisting of saturated divalent hydrocarbon radicals, hydrocarbonoxy radicals in which the hydrocarbon group is linked to the silicon by a carbon bond and the oxygen is in the form of an ether linkage, and unsaturated divalent hydrocarbon radicals, R.sup.3 is selected from the group consisting of monovalent hydrocarbon radicals having from 1 to 18 carbon atoms, alkoxy radicals having from 1 to 18 carbon atoms and OSi(R.sup.4).sub.3 radicals, R.sup.4 is a monovalent hydrocarbon radical having from 1 to 18 carbon atoms, R.sup.5 is a monovalent radical selected from the group consisting of O.sub.0.5 Si(R.sup.4).sub.3 and O.sub.0.5 R.sup.4, where R.sup.4 is the same as above, and when R is cationic, then A must be anionic and when R is nonionic then A must be nonionic, a is a number of from 0 to 4, b, c and d are each numbers of from 0 to 1, the sum of b, c and d must be at least 1 when A is a monovalent radical and when A is a divalent radical b, c and d must be at least 0.5 and up to 3, with the proviso that when c is greater than 0, then a must be at least 1, e is a number of from 1 to 200, m is a number of from 1 to 20,000, n is 2, 3 or 4, x is a number of from 1 to 400, and y is a number of from 0 to 8, and thereafter drying the coated material at a temperature of from 50.degree. to 200.degree. C. in the presence of atmospheric moisture.
- 2. The process of claim 1, wherein the silicone polyether copolymer is dissolved in a solvent prior to coating the textile material.
- 3. The process of claim 2, wherein the silicone polyether copolymer is dissolved in a solvent to form a solution containing from 0.25 to 99 percent by weight of silicone polyether copolymer based on the weight of the silicone polyether copolymer and solvent.
- 4. The process of claim 2 wherein the solvent is water.
- 5. The process of claim 1, wherein the textile material is polyester.
- 6. The process of claim 1, wherein the composition also contains an aminoplast resin.
- 7. The coated textile material of claim 1.
- 8. The coated textile material of claim 1 which contains from 0.025 to 10 percent by weight of the cured composition.
- 9. The coated textile material of claim 5.
- 10. The coated textile material of claim 6.
- 11. The process of claim 1, wherein the composition contains a silicone polyether copolymer and tetrafluoroethylene emulsion.
- 12. The coated textile material of claim 11.
- 13. A composition containing a silicone polyether copolymer having the general formula ##STR25## where R is a radical selected from the group consisting of ##STR26## in which the radical R is linked to the polyether through an ester linkage, R.sup.1 is a divalent hydrocarbon radical selected from the group consisting of (--CH.sub.2).sub.y, --CH.dbd.CH-- and a cyclic radical selected from the group consisting of C.sub.6 H.sub.4, C.sub.6 H.sub.8 and C.sub.10 H.sub.6 ; A is a silicone containing monovalent or divalent radical selected from the group consisting of ##STR27## R.sup.2 is selected from the group consisting of saturated divalent hydrocarbon radicals, hydrocarbonoxy radicals in which the hydrocarbon group is linked to the silicon by a carbon bond and the oxygen is in the form of an ether linkage, and unsaturated divalent hydrocarbon radicals, R.sup.3 is selected from the group consisting of monovalent hydrocarbon radicals having from 1 to 18 carbon atoms, alkoxy radicals having from 1 to 18 carbon atoms and OSi(R.sup.4).sub.3 radicals, R.sup.4 is a monovalent hydrocarbon radical having from 1 to 18 carbon atoms, R.sup.5 is a monovalent radical selected from the group consisting of O.sub.0.5 Si(R.sup.4).sub.3 and O.sub.0.5 R.sup.4, where R.sup.4 is the same as above, and when R is cationic, then A must be anionic and when R is nonionic then A must be nonionic, a is a number of from 0 to 4, b, c and d are each numbers of from 0 to 1, the sum of b, c and d must be at least 1 when A is a monovalent radical and when A is a divalent radical b, c and d must be at least 0.5 and up to 3, with the proviso that when c is greater than 0, then a must be at least 1, e is a number of from 1 to 200, m is a number of from 1 to 20,000, n is 2, 3 or 4, x is a number of from 1 to 400, and y is a number of from 0 to 8, and a tetrafluoroethylene emulsion in which the amount of tetrafluoroethylene emulsion may range from 1 to 99 percent by weight based on the weight of the silicone polyether copolymer and tetrafluoroethylene emulsion.
- 14. The composition of claim 13, wherein the tetrafluoroethylene emulsion contains from 20 to 50 percent by weight of tetrafluoroethylene emulsion.
