Claims
- 1. A silicone protein which is prepared by the reaction of
- an intermediate conforming to the following structure;
- R--O--C(O)--CH.sub.2 --Cl
- wherein;
- R is ##STR12## a is an integer from 0 to 200; b is an integer from 0 to 200;
- c is an integer from 1 to 200;
- R.sup.1 is selected from the group consisting of --(CH.sub.2).sub.n CH.sub.3 and phenyl;
- n is an integer from 0 to 10;
- R.sup.2 is --(CH.sub.2).sub.3 --(OCH.sub.2 CH.sub.2).sub.x --(OCH.sub.2 CH(CH.sub.3)).sub.y --(OCH.sub.2 CH.sub.2).sub.z --OH;
- x, y and z are integers and are independently selected from 0 to 20;
- with a protein.
- 2. A silicone protein of claim 1 wherein b is zero.
- 3. A silicone protein of claim 1 wherein x, y and z are all zero.
- 4. A silicone protein of claim 1 wherein the molecular weight of the protein ranges from 1,000 molecular weight units to 500,000 molecular weight units.
- 5. A silicone protein of claim 1 wherein the molecular weight of the protein ranges from 1,000 molecular weight units to 50,000 molecular weight units.
- 6. A silicone protein of claim 1 wherein the molecular weight of the protein ranges from 10,000 molecular weight units to 20,000 molecular weight units.
- 7. A silicone protein of claim 1 wherein the protein is a wheat based protein.
- 8. A silicone protein of claim 1 wherein the protein is a soy based protein.
