Claims
- 1. A simulated exposed roof rafter end for mounting to a building having an eave comprising a soffit and a fascia, the simulated exposed roof rafter end comprising:
a sleeve portion and a mounting portion, the mounting portion being adapted for attachment to a building, and the sleeve portion being adapted for slidable attachment to the mounting portion and comprising a distal end having an architectural design.
- 2. The simulated exposed roof rafter end of claim 1 wherein the mounting portion is a frame.
- 3. The simulated exposed roof rafter end of claim 1 wherein the mounting portion is a block of wood.
- 4. The simulated exposed roof rafter end of claim 3 wherein the block of wood is a rafter end.
- 5. The simulated exposed roof rafter end of claim 1 wherein the sleeve portion comprises a top wall, a bottom wall, and a pair of spaced-apart side walls for enclosing the mounting portion.
- 6. The simulated exposed roof rafter end of claim 1 wherein the mounting portion is attached to the soffit and the sleeve portion comprises a bottom wall and a pair of spaced-apart side walls for enclosing the mounting portion.
- 7. The simulated exposed roof rafter end of claim 1 and further comprising an integral electrical socket and wiring for operable attachment of a light bulb.
- 8. The simulated exposed roof rafter end of claim 1 and further comprising a proximal end having an integral rain gutter support and a rain gutter supported therein.
- 9. The simulated exposed roof rafter end of claim 8 wherein the rain gutter support comprises a cradle having a profile complementary to the cross-sectional profile of the rain gutter.
- 10. The simulated exposed roof rafter end of claim 9 wherein the rain gutter support further comprises a top strap extending over the rain gutter.
- 11. The simulated exposed roof rafter end of claim 9 and further comprising a web portion terminating in a peripheral flange.
- 12. The simulated exposed roof rafter end of claim 9 and further comprising at least one retaining flange retaining the rain gutter in the cradle.
- 13. The simulated exposed roof rafter end of claim 12 wherein the at least one retaining flange comprises a retaining flange extending laterally from the distal end and a retaining lip depending from the retaining flange.
- 14. The simulated exposed roof rafter end of claim 12 wherein the at least one retaining flange comprises a retaining flange extending laterally from the proximal end and a retaining lip depending from the retaining flange.
- 15. The simulated exposed roof rafter end of claim 8 wherein the rain gutter comprises a flexible, sheet-like rain gutter.
- 16. In combination with a roof eave comprising a fascia and a soffit, a simulated exposed roof rafter end comprising:
a sleeve portion and a mounting portion, the mounting portion is attached to a building, and the sleeve portion is slidably attached to the mounting portion and comprising a distal end having an architectural design.
- 17. The simulated exposed roof rafter end of claim 16 wherein the mounting portion is a frame.
- 18. The simulated exposed roof rafter end of claim 16 wherein the mounting portion is a block of wood.
- 19. The simulated exposed roof rafter end of claim 18 wherein the block of wood is a rafter end.
- 20. The simulated exposed roof rafter end of claim 16 wherein the sleeve portion comprises a top wall, a bottom wall, and a pair of side walls enclosing the mounting portion.
- 21. The simulated exposed roof rafter end of claim 16 wherein the mounting portion is attached to the soffit and the sleeve portion comprises a bottom wall and a pair of side walls enclosing the mounting portion.
- 22. The simulated exposed roof rafter end of claim 16 and further comprising an integral electrical socket and wiring for operable attachment of a light bulb to the simulated exposed roof rafter end.
- 23. The simulated exposed roof rafter end of claim 16 and further comprising a proximal end having an integral rain gutter support and a rain gutter supported therein.
- 24. The simulated exposed roof rafter end of claim 23 wherein the rain gutter support comprises a cradle having a profile complementary to the cross-sectional profile of the rain gutter.
- 25. The simulated exposed roof rafter end of claim 24 wherein the rain gutter support further comprises a top strap extending over the rain gutter.
- 26. The simulated exposed roof rafter end of claim 24 and further comprising a web portion terminating in a peripheral flange.
- 27. The simulated exposed roof rafter end of claim 24 and further comprising at least one retaining flange retaining the rain gutter in the cradle.
- 28. The simulated exposed roof rafter end of claim 27 wherein the at least one retaining flange comprises a retaining flange extending laterally from the distal end and a retaining lip depending from the retaining flange.
- 29. The simulated exposed roof rafter end of claim 27 wherein the at least one retaining flange comprises a retaining flange extending laterally from the proximal end and a retaining lip depending from the retaining flange.
- 30. The simulated exposed roof rafter end of claim 23 wherein the rain gutter comprises a flexible, sheet-like rain gutter.
- 31. A simulated exposed roof rafter end for mounting to a building, the simulated exposed roof rafter end comprising:
a proximal end having mounting portion, the mounting portion being adapted for attachment to a building, and a distal end having an integral rain gutter support, a rain gutter supported therein, and an architectural design.
- 32. The simulated exposed roof rafter end of claim 31 wherein the rain gutter support comprises a cradle having a profile complementary to the cross-sectional profile of the rain gutter.
- 33. The simulated exposed roof rafter end of claim 32 wherein the rain gutter support further comprises a top strap extending over the rain gutter.
- 34. The simulated exposed roof rafter end of claim 32 and further comprising a web portion terminating in a peripheral flange.
- 35. The simulated exposed roof rafter end of claim 32 and further comprising at least one retaining flange retaining the rain gutter in the cradle.
- 36. The simulated exposed roof rafter end of claim 35 wherein the at least one retaining flange comprises a retaining flange extending laterally from the distal end and a retaining lip depending from the retaining flange.
- 37. The simulated exposed roof rafter end of claim 35 wherein the at least one retaining flange comprises a retaining flange extending laterally from the proximal end and a retaining lip depending from the retaining flange.
- 38. The simulated exposed roof rafter end of claim 31 wherein the rain gutter comprises a flexible, sheet-like rain gutter.
