Claims
- 1. A system for measuring weight of objects or the like using single load cell means which comprises:
- (a) structural means having an upper surface for supporting objects or the like to be weighed;
- (b) single load cell means extending generally parallel to said upper support surface;
- (c) single load supporting means for uninterruptedly connecting at least one end portion of said load cell means to a lower surface of said structural means, said supporting means comprising a substantially rigid columnar means for directly supporting and maintaining said structural means in a horizontal position when an object to be weighed is placed on said upper surface thereof, one end of said columnar means being securely attached to said structural means and the other end contacting said load cell, said load supporting means extending uninterruptedly therebetween, and roller support bearing means located adjacent said columnar means for preventing angular variations between said upper surface of said structural means and said load cell means, such that the forces applied to said structural means by objects or the like positioned to be weighed at selected locations on said upper support surface will be transmitted to said load cell means without varying the angular orientation between said structural means and said load cell means; and
- (d) means for concentrating and transmitting said forces applied to said structural means to said load cell means.
- 2. The system according to claim 1 wherein said upper surface is generally planar and said single, uninterrupted connecting means maintains said predetermined generally perpendicular relation between said upper surface of said structural means and said load cell means.
- 3. The system according to claim 1 wherein the force concentrating and transmitting means comprises a lower columnar member having a convex upper surface, said concentrating and transmitting means located between said load cell means and said single load supporting means for concentrating and accurately transmitting the force of the objects to be weighed to said load cell means.
- 4. A system for measuring weight of objects or the like using single load cell means which comprises:
- (a) substantially horizontal means for supporting objects or the like to be weighed;
- (b) single load cell means;
- (c) single, uninterrupted columnar means for maintaining said support means in a horizontal position when an object to be weighed is placed thereupon, one end of said horizontal position maintaining means being attached to said support means and the other end contacting said load cell means; and
- (d) roller support bearing means adjacent said columnar means for preventing angular variations between said support means and said load cell means, such that forces applied to said support means by objects or the like positioned to be weighed at selected locations on said support means will be directly transmitted to said load cell means without varying the angular orientation between said support means and said load cell means.
- 5. The system according to claim 24 wherein the support means includes a generally planar upper surface.
- 6. The system according to claim 25 which further comprises means for transmitting said forces to said load cell.
- 7. The system according to claim 6 wherein said concentrating and transmitting means comprises a lower columnar member having a convex upper surface said concentrating and transmitting means located between said single load cell means and said uninterrupted, columnar position maintaining means for directly and accurately transmitting the force of objects to be weighed to said single load cell means.
- 8. A system for measuring weight of objects or the like using single load cell means which comprises:
- (a) table means comprising an upper surface for supporting objects or the like to be weighed on a single uninterrupted columnar member for directly supporting and maintaining said surface means in a horizontal position when an object to be weighed is placed upon said upper surface, one end of said columnar member being securely attached to said surface means;
- (b) single load cell means extending generally parallel to said upper surface;
- (c) means for concentrating and transmitting said forces applied to said upper surface to said load cell means; and
- (d) roller support bearing means adjacent said uninterrupted columnar member for preventing angular variations between said upper surface of said table means and said load cell means, such that force applied to said surface by objects or the like positioned to be weighed will be directly transmitted to said single load cell means without varying the angular orientation between said upper surface and said load cell means.
- 9. The system according to claim 8 wherein said upper surface is generally planar and said concentrating and transmitting means maintains a predetermined generally perpendicular relation between said upper surface and said single load cell means.
- 10. The system according to claim 8 wherein said concentrating and transmitting means comprises a lower columnar member having a convex upper surface said concentrating and transmitting means located between said single load cell means and said uninterrupted, columnar position maintaining means for directly and accurately transmitting the force of objects to be weighed to said single load cell means.
