Claims
- 1. A single-motor-&-cam, remotely positionable, vehicle mirror alignment system, characterized by
a) mirror means (1); b) a mirror base (65); c) mirror mounting means, on said mirror base (65), providing said mirror means (1) a range of view position alignments with respect to said base (65); d) a single alignment motor (9), mounted to said mirror base (65); and e) an alignment cam (5), operatively associated with said alignment motor, (9) for positioning of said mirror means (1) within said range of view alignments.
- 2. A single-motor-&-cam, remotely positionable, vehicle mirror alignment system according to claim 1, further characterized in that:
said mirror means (1) comprises a wedge mirror; so that each view alignment has a plurality of reflectivity positions, making available at least two different reflectivities at each view alignment; and said single alignment motor (9) is adapted to drive said mirror means through said range of view positions.
- 3. A single-motor-&-cam, remotely adjustable, vehicle mirror alignment system according to claim 1, further characterized in that:
said mirror means (1) comprises a small wide-angle convex wedge mirror segment (42; 61) of a larger wedge mirror, so that each view alignment has a plurality of reflectivity positions in said wide-angle convex wedge mirror segment (42; 61), making available at least two different reflectivities at each view alignment in said segment, as well as at least two different reflectivities at each view alignment in said larger wedge mirror; and said single alignment motor (9) is adapted to drive said mirror means through said range of view alignments.
- 4. A multi-function optical beam reflecting and steerng system for a vehicle mirror characterized by
a mirror base; a mirror mounted on said mirror base with capability of a limited range of mirror alignments with respect to said mirror base; a single alignment motor, having a shaft, mounted to said mirror base; and alignment cam means, mounted axially to the shaft of said single alignment motor, adapted for positioning said mirror with respect to said base.
- 5. A mirror positioning system characterized by
(a) a mirror base (65); (b) a mirror (1) mounted on said mirror base (65) with capability of a range of alignment positions appropriate for a viewer; (c) single-motor (9) mirror alignment motor means (9) mounted to said mirror base (65); and (d) an alignment cam and cam driver set (5-11) mounted axially to said mirror alignment motor means (9) to provide motion to said mirror (1) as a function of cam (5) configuration, under impetus of said alignment motor (9), said alignment cam and said cam driver forming a set (5-11) adapted for positioning said mirror (1) within a range with respect to said base (65).
