Claims
- 1. A temperature compensated circuit comprising:an electronic package having external electrical connections; an integrated circuit, said integrated circuit comprising: a circuit to be temperature compensated; a switched capacitor array connected to said circuit to be temperature compensated, said switched capacitor array for switching a capacitive load of said circuit to be temperature compensated; a memory circuit for storing data related to the switching of said switched capacitor array; a control circuit connected to said memory circuit and to said switched capacitor array; and a direct to digital temperature sensing circuit for sensing a temperature about said circuit to be temperature compensated and for providing a digital temperature signal to said control circuitry, and wherein said circuit to be temperature compensated being inside a single electronic package.
- 2. The temperature compensated circuit of claim 1, wherein said single electronic package utilizes ball grid array technology.
- 3. A temperature compensated circuit of claim 1 wherein said circuit to be temperature compensated comprises:an oscillator.
- 4. A temperature compensated circuit as in claim 3 wherein said oscillator comprises:a crystal oscillator.
- 5. A temperature compensated circuit as in claim 1 wherein said direct to digital temperature sensing circuit comprises:a counting circuit for counting clock cycles of an oscillator with a low temperature coefficient during a gate period determined by an oscillator having a high temperature coefficient.
