Claims
- 1. A single side band generator comprising:
- a. means for generating at least two components of a first bi-level signal having a frequency f.sub.A, one of such two components of the first signal being delayed relative to the other one-quarter of its time period;
- b. means for generating at least two components of a second bi-level signal having a frequency f.sub.b, one of such two components of the second signal being delayed relative to the other one-quarter of its time period;
- c. two logic gates, each one thereof coupled to a different one of the two components of the first signal and a different one of the two components of the second signal;
- d. means coupled to each one of the logic gates for combining signals passing therethrough into a composite signal having a dominant frequency f.sub.A .+-. f.sub.B.
- 2. A single side band generator comprising:
- a. first means for generating four bi-level signals, each one thereof having a frequency f.sub.A, successive ones of the four signals being shifted in time a quarter period;
- b. second means for generating four bi-level signals, each one thereof having a frequency f.sub.B, successive ones of the four signals being shifted in time a quarter period;
- c. four logic gates, each one thereof coupled to a different one of the four signals generated by the first means and a different one of the four signals generated by the second means;
- d. means, coupled to the four logic gates, for combining the signals passing through the four logic gates to produce an output signal, such signal having a dominant frequency f.sub.A .+-. f.sub.B.
- 3. A single side band generator comprising:
- a. first means for generating a signal A and a signal C, signal A and signal C each having: rectangular waveshapes; a frequency f.sub.1 ; the two being shifted in time by one-quarter period;
- b. second means for generating a signal B and a signal D, signal B and signal D each having: rectangular waveshapes; a frequency f.sub.2 ; the two being shifted in time by one-quarter period; and
- c. a logic network responsive to signal A, signal B, signal C and signal D for forming a signal A .sup.. B and a signal C .sup.. D and for combining such each formed signal into a composite signal.
- 4. The single side band generator recited in claim 3 wherein the first generating means generates the complement of signal A and signal C and the second generating means generates the complement of signal B and signal D and the logic network forms a signal A .sup.. B and a signal C .sup.. D.
- 5. The single side band generator recited in claim 3 wherein the logic network combines the signal A .sup.. B and the signal C .sup.. D in an analog summing network.
- 6. The single side band generator recited in claim 3 wherein the logic network combines the signal A .sup.. B and the signal C .sup.. D in a logic gate.
- 7. The single side band generator recited in claim 4 wherein the logic network combines the signals A .sup.. B, the signal A .sup.. B, the signal C .sup.. D and the signal C .sup.. D in an analog summing network.
- 8. The single side band generator recited in claim 4 wherein the logic network combines the signal A .sup.. B, the signal A .sup.. B, the signal C .sup.. D, and the signal C .sup.. D in a logic gate.
