Claims
- 1. A sterilization wrap system having a periphery, the wrap comprising:a first wrap sheet comprising a laminate having a spunbonded layer, a melt blown layer and a spunbonded layer; and a second wrap sheet comprising a laminate having a spunbonded layer, a melt blown layer and a spunbonded layer; wherein the sheets are joined at the periphery by a plurality of spaced apart and separate bond points; and further wherein each of the sheets has a basis weight of from about 0.5 to about 3.5 ounces per square yard.
- 2. The system of claim 1, wherein the system is adapted for use in steam sterilizing conditions.
- 3. The system of claim 1, wherein the system is adapted for use in ethylene oxide sterilizing conditions.
- 4. The system of claim 1, wherein each wrap sheet is similarly sized.
- 5. The system of claim 1, wherein the first wrap sheet is bonded to the second wrap sheet using bonding means comprising adhesive bonds.
- 6. The system of claim 1, wherein the first wrap sheet is bonded to the second wrap sheet using bonding means comprising stitching bonds.
- 7. The system of claim 1, wherein the first wrap sheet is bonded to the second wrap sheet using bonding means comprising heat bonds.
- 8. The system of claim 1, wherein the first wrap sheet is bonded to the second wrap sheet using bonding means comprising ultrasonic bonds.
- 9. The system of claim 1, wherein the system defines a central portion having bonds therein and wherein the periphery of the system has a greater degree of bonding than the central portion.
- 10. The system of claim 1, wherein the layers of at least one of the wrap sheets are bonded together by bonds which occupy from about 5 to about 50% of the surface area of the wrap sheet.
- 11. The system of claim 10, wherein the bonds occupy from about 10 to about 30% of the surface area of the wrap sheet.
- 12. The system of claim 1, wherein a surface of the system defines first and second zones wherein there are a greater number of bond sites in the first zone than in the second zone.
- 13. The system of claim 12, wherein the first zone surrounds the second zone.
