Claims
- 1. An emulsion formulation for topical application to the skin comprising: an aqueous phase, an oil phase, at least one emulsifier, and an epichlorohydrin cross-linked glyceryl starch.
- 2. The formulation of claim 1, wherein the formulation is an oil-in water emulsion.
- 3. The formulation of claim 2, wherein the at least one emulsifier is present in an amount of about 1 to about 10 percent by weight.
- 4. The formulation of claim 1, wherein the formulation is a water-in-oil emulsion.
- 5. The formulation of claim 4, wherein the at least one emulsifier is present in an amount of about 1 to about 10 percent by weight.
- 6. The formulation of claim 1, wherein the epichlorohydrin cross-linked glyceryl starch is present in an amount of about 0.1 to about 50 percent by weight.
- 7. The formulation of claim 6, wherein the epichlorohydrin cross-linked glyceryl starch is present in an amount of about 2 to about 4 percent by weight.
- 8. The formulation of claim 1, further comprising at least one sunscreen active agent.
