This disclosure relates generally to the field of waist trainers, and specifically waist trainers having integrated gun holsters.
Physical fitness has played an important role in the lives of most of society, along with the tools, equipment and regimen that enable people to maintain their physiques. A waist trainers' function is to increase the aesthetic appearance of the midsection, and decrease the stubborn body fat that likes to hang around a person's midsection. Modern waist trainers have progressed from the corsets and girdles of yesteryear that were used to create and accentuate a smaller midsection. As technology has progressed, the materials used in waist training have changed from various types of cloth, to various elastics and polymers. In recent years, neoprene has become a more popular choice for its lightweight but flexible and water-resistant properties.
As more and more states enact concealed carry laws in addition to open carry laws, there is an increasing need for a waist trainer that can be worn on a daily basis for relatively long periods of time, including while at work, and while exercising at the gym. Instead of wearing an Inside Waist Band (IWB) holster in addition to a waist trainer, an alternative solution for a person who desires to carry a concealed weapon is to integrate the holster into the waist trainer that they are already wearing.
The multi-faceted waist trainer is a dual layered band of comfortable waist trainer material with two customizable cushioned concealed holster compartments built into the waist trainer. The waist trainer is approximately ten inches in width and long enough to wrap completely around the midsection for both men and women. The dual layers of the waist trainer are comprised of durable and resilient materials that provide support for the holster and the weapon contained within the holster. In a preferred embodiment, the cushioned holster compartments have reinforced seams and an optional vertical Velcro closure. In an alternate embodiment, both the holster compartments' openings and the compartments have an approximate angle of 45 degrees so that the weapon can be inserted into the holster compartment at an angle, and the holster compartment itself angles down from the top of the trainer toward the bottom of the trainer to prevent the weapon from sliding up and out of the holster compartment. The primary holster compartment is located on the inner band closer to the right side of the wearer's torso, with the overlaying band providing maximum concealment.
The secondary holster is located on the outer band closer to the left side of the wearer's torso. For additional support, the overlaying band will have an exterior closure such as a snap locking button for maximum security.
Both the primary and secondary holsters are configured to securely retain handguns with barrel lengths up to five and a half inches (5.5″) and calibers ranging from .22 to .45 ACP.
The present embodiments are illustrated by way of the figures of the accompanying drawings, which may not necessarily be to scale, in which like references indicate similar elements, and in which:
A number of illustrative embodiments have been described. Nevertheless, it will be understood that various modifications may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the various embodiments presented herein. For example, the multi-faceted waist trainer as shown is approximately 10 inches wide. The waist trainer could also be 6-8 inches wide, or 10 to 12 inches wide. The length of the women's trainer ranges from 30-60 inches, and the men's trainer extends from 40-80 inches in length. Accordingly, other embodiments are within the scope of the following embodiments.
The multi-faceted waist trainer is worn beneath a person's outer garments just like a traditional waist trainer, and provides the comfortability for extended hours of wearing, along with the feeling of security provided by having concealed weapons secured in cushioned holsters on your person.
In the alternate embodiments of the waist trainer, both the men's and women's waist trainer provide even more stability and support for the waist trainer with support straps that extend from the top of the waist trainer over the wearer's shoulders. The shoulder straps can be worn when carrying larger caliber handguns to evenly distribute the additional weight.
In a preferred embodiment, both the men's and women's waist trainer wrap around the midsection of the body and overlaps one end of the trainer with the other end. The trainer is secured in place by a closure that attaches the overlapping end to the portion of the trainer that is being overlapped.
