Claims
- 1. A decorative cover for a flower pot, the decorative cover comprising:
a sleeve having an upper end, a lower end, an outer peripheral surface, an inner peripheral surface and an inner retaining space in which a flower pot may be disposed and wherein the inner retaining space is sized to substantially surround an outer peripheral surface of a flower pot when a flower pot is disposed in the sleeve, the sleeve formed of a sheet of polymeric film having a thickness in the range of from about 0.6 mil to about 10 mil, the sheet of polymeric film having an upper surface and a lower surface wherein at least a portion of one of the upper and lower surfaces of the sheet of polymeric film is embossed, printed or embossed and printed to provide such surface with an appearance or texture simulating the appearance or texture of paper such that at least a portion of one of the inner and outer peripheral surfaces of the sleeve is provided with the texture or appearance simulating the texture or appearance of paper.
- 2. The decorative cover of claim 1 wherein the sleeve further comprises:
a lower portion generally sized to contain a flower pot, the lower portion comprising a base portion and a skirt portion, the base portion having an outer peripheral surface and an inner peripheral surface and the skirt portion extending beyond an open upper end of a flower pot when a flower pot is disposed in the sleeve and having an upper peripheral edge; and an upper portion connected to the skirt portion of the lower portion of the sleeve and detachable from the skirt portion via a plurality of perforations.
- 3. The decorative cover of claim 2 wherein the outer peripheral surface of the base portion of the lower portion of the sleeve is provided with an appearance or texture simulating the appearance or texture of paper.
- 4. The decorative cover of claim 2 wherein at least one surface of the skirt portion of the lower portion of the sleeve is provided with an appearance or texture simulating the appearance or texture of paper.
- 5. The decorative cover of claim 2 wherein at least a portion of at least one surface of the upper portion of the sleeve is provided with an appearance or texture simulating the appearance or texture of paper.
- 6. The decorative cover of claim 1 wherein the polymeric film from which the sleeve is constructed is further provided with a printed pattern disposed on at least a portion of one surface thereof.
- 7. The decorative cover of claim 6 wherein the polymeric film from which the sleeve is constructed is further provided with an embossed pattern disposed on at least a portion of one surface thereof.
- 8. The decorative cover of claim 7 wherein the printed pattern and the embossed pattern are in register with one another.
- 9. The decorative cover of claim 7 wherein the printed pattern and the embossed pattern are out of register with one another.
- 10. The decorative cover of claim 1 wherein the lower end of the sleeve is closed and is provided with a gusset formed therein.
- 11. A decorative cover for a flower pot, the decorative cover comprising:
a sleeve having an upper end, a lower end, an outer peripheral surface, an inner peripheral surface and an inner retaining space in which a flower pot may be disposed and wherein the inner retaining space is sized to substantially surround an outer peripheral surface of a flower pot when a flower pot is disposed in the sleeve, the sleeve formed of a flexible laminated polymeric material having at least a portion of one surface thereof modified to provide at least a portion of one of the inner and outer peripheral surfaces of the sleeve formed therefrom with an appearance or texture simulating the appearance or texture of paper, the flexible laminated polymeric material from which the sleeve is formed comprising:
a polymeric film having an upper surface, a lower surface and a thickness in the range of from about 0.6 mil to about 10 mil; a substantially water impervious polymeric film laminated to the polymeric film, the substantially water impervious polymeric film having an upper surface, a lower surface and a thickness in the range of from about 0.6 mil to about 10 mil; and wherein at least a portion of one of the upper and lower surfaces of one of the polymeric film and the substantially water impervious polymeric film is modified or textured to provide the flexible laminated polymeric material with a surface having a texture or appearance simulating the texture or appearance of paper.
- 12. The decorative cover of claim 11 wherein the sleeve further comprises:
a lower portion generally sized to contain a flower pot, the lower portion comprising a base portion and a skirt portion, the base portion having an outer peripheral surface and an inner peripheral surface and the skirt portion extending beyond an open upper end of a flower pot when a flower pot is disposed in the sleeve and having an upper peripheral edge; and an upper portion connected to the skirt portion of the lower portion of the sleeve and detachable from the skirt portion via a plurality of perforations.
- 13. The decorative cover of claim 12 wherein the outer peripheral surface of the base portion of the lower portion of the sleeve is provided with an appearance or texture simulating the appearance or texture of paper.
- 14. The decorative cover of claim 12 wherein at least one surface of the skirt portion of the lower portion of the sleeve is provided with an appearance or texture simulating the appearance or texture of paper.
- 15. The decorative cover of claim 12 wherein at least a portion of at least one surface of the upper portion of the sleeve is provided with an appearance or texture simulating the appearance or texture of paper.
- 16. The decorative cover of claim 11 wherein the flexible laminated polymeric material from which the sleeve is constructed is further provided with a printed pattern disposed on at least a portion of one surface thereof.
- 17. The decorative cover of claim 16 wherein the flexible laminated polymeric material from which the sleeve is constructed is further provided with an embossed pattern disposed on at least a portion of one surface thereof.
- 18. The decorative cover of claim 17 wherein the printed pattern and the embossed pattern are in register with one another.
- 19. The decorative cover of claim 17 wherein the printed pattern and the embossed pattern are out of register with one another.
- 20. The decorative cover of claim 11 wherein the base portion and the skirt portion of the lower portion of the sleeve are constructed from the flexible laminated polymeric material and the upper portion of the sleeve is constructed from a second material different than the flexible laminated polymeric material.
- 21. The decorative cover of claim 11 wherein the polymeric film and the substantially water impervious polymeric film are laminated with a colored adhesive.
- 22. The decorative cover of claim 11 wherein the lower end of the sleeve is closed and is provided with a gusset formed therein.
- 23. A decorative cover for a flower pot, the decorative cover comprising:
a sleeve having an upper end, a lower end, an outer peripheral surface, an inner peripheral surface and an inner retaining space in which a flower pot may be disposed and wherein the inner retaining space is sized to surround an outer peripheral surface of a flower pot when the flower pot is disposed in the sleeve, the sleeve formed of a polymeric film having a thickness in a range of from about 0.6 mil to about 10 mil and having at least a portion of one surface thereof modified or textured to provide at least a portion of one of the inner and outer peripheral surfaces of the decorative sleeve with an appearance or texture simulating the appearance or texture of paper.
- 24. The decorative cover of claim 23 wherein the sleeve further comprises:
a lower portion generally sized to contain a flower pot, the lower portion comprising a base portion and a skirt portion, the base portion having an outer peripheral surface and an inner peripheral surface and the skirt portion extending beyond an open upper end of a flower pot when a flower pot is disposed in the sleeve and having an upper peripheral edge; and an upper portion connected to the skirt portion of the lower portion of the sleeve and detachable from the skirt portion via a plurality of perforations.
- 25. The decorative cover of claim 24 wherein the outer peripheral surface of the base portion of the lower portion of the sleeve is provided with an appearance or texture simulating the appearance or texture of paper.
- 26. The decorative cover of claim 24 wherein at least one surface of the skirt portion of the lower portion of the sleeve is provided with an appearance or texture simulating the appearance or texture of paper.
- 27. The decorative cover of claim 24 wherein at least a portion of at least one surface of the upper portion of the sleeve is provided with an appearance or texture simulating the appearance or texture of paper.
- 28. The decorative cover of claim 23 wherein the polymeric film further contains printed patterns, embossed patterns or combinations thereof.
- 29. The decorative cover of claim 28 wherein the polymeric film is provided with printed and embossed patterns, and the printed and embossed patterns are in registry with one another.
- 30. The decorative cover of claim 28 wherein the polymeric film is provided with printed and embossed patterns, and the printed and embossed patterns are out of registry with one another.
- 31. The decorative cover of claim 28 wherein the polymeric film is provided with printed and embossed patterns, and at least a portion of the printed and embossed patterns are out of registry with one another.
- 32. The decorative cover of claim 23 wherein the lower end of the sleeve is closed and is provided with a gusset formed therein.
- 33. A decorative cover for a floral grouping, the decorative cover comprising:
a sleeve having an upper end, a lower end, an outer peripheral surface, an inner peripheral surface and an inner retaining space in which a floral grouping may be disposed and wherein the inner retaining space is sized to substantially surround a floral grouping when the floral grouping is disposed in the sleeve such that a bloom portion of the floral grouping is exposed near the upper end of the sleeve and a stem portion of the floral grouping is exposed near the lower end of the sleeve, the sleeve formed of a sheet of polymeric film having a thickness in the range of from about 0.6 mil to about 10 mil, the sheet of polymeric film having an upper surface and a lower surface wherein at least a portion of one of the upper and lower surfaces of the sheet of polymeric film is embossed, printed or embossed and printed to provide such surface with an appearance or texture simulating the appearance or texture of paper such that at least a portion of one of the inner and outer peripheral surfaces of the sleeve is provided with the texture or appearance simulating the texture or appearance of paper.
- 34. The decorative cover of claim 33 further comprising a tie for securing the sleeve about a floral grouping when the floral grouping is disposed within the inner retaining space of the sleeve.
- 35. The decorative cover of claim 33 wherein the sleeve is further comprises a bonding material disposed on a portion thereof for securing the sleeve about a floral grouping when the floral grouping is disposed within the inner retaining space of the sleeve.
- 36. The decorative cover of claim 33 wherein the sleeve further comprises a cinching tab disposed on a portion of the sleeve for securing the sleeve about a floral grouping when the floral grouping is disposed within the inner retaining space of the sleeve.
- 37. The decorative cover of claim 33 wherein the polymeric film from which the sleeve is constructed is further provided with a printed pattern disposed on at least a portion of one surface thereof.
- 38. The decorative cover of claim 37 wherein the polymeric film from which the sleeve is constructed is further provided with an embossed pattern disposed on at least a portion of one surface thereof.
- 39. The decorative cover of claim 38 wherein the printed pattern and the embossed pattern are in register with one another.
- 40. The decorative cover of claim 38 wherein the printed pattern and the embossed pattern are out of register with one another.
- 41. A decorative cover for a floral grouping, the decorative cover comprising:
a sleeve having an upper end, a lower end, an outer peripheral surface, an inner peripheral surface and an inner retaining space in which a floral grouping may be disposed and wherein the inner retaining space is sized to substantially surround a floral grouping when the floral grouping is disposed in the sleeve such that a bloom portion of the floral grouping is exposed near the upper end of the sleeve and a stem portion of the floral grouping is exposed near the lower end of the sleeve, the sleeve formed of a flexible laminated polymeric material having at least a portion of one surface thereof modified to provide at least a portion of one of the inner and outer peripheral surfaces of the sleeve formed therefrom with an appearance or texture simulating the appearance or texture of paper, the flexible laminated polymeric material from which the sleeve is formed comprising:
a polymeric film having an upper surface, a lower surface and a thickness in the range of from about 0.6 mil to about 10 mil; a substantially water impervious polymeric film laminated to the polymeric film, the substantially water impervious polymeric film having an upper surface, a lower surface and a thickness in the range of from about 0.6 mil to about 10 mil; and wherein at least a portion of one of the upper and lower surfaces of one of the polymeric film and the substantially water impervious polymeric film is modified or textured to provide the flexible laminated polymeric material with a surface having a texture or appearance simulating the texture or appearance of paper.
- 42. The decorative cover of claim 41 further comprising a tie for securing the sleeve about a floral grouping when the floral grouping is disposed within the inner retaining space of the sleeve.
- 43. The decorative cover of claim 41 wherein the sleeve is further comprises a bonding material disposed on a portion thereof for securing the sleeve about a floral grouping when the floral grouping is disposed within the inner retaining space of the sleeve.
- 44. The decorative cover of claim 41 wherein the sleeve further comprises a cinching tab disposed on a portion of the sleeve for securing the sleeve about a floral grouping when the floral grouping is disposed within the inner retaining space of the sleeve.
- 45. The decorative cover of claim 41 wherein the flexible laminated polymeric material from which the sleeve is constructed is further provided with a printed pattern disposed on at least a portion of one surface thereof.
- 46. The decorative cover of claim 45 wherein the flexible laminated polymeric material from which the sleeve is constructed is further provided with an embossed pattern disposed on at least a portion of one surface thereof.
- 47. The decorative cover of claim 46 wherein the printed pattern and the embossed pattern are in register with one another.
- 48. The decorative cover of claim 46 wherein the printed pattern and the embossed pattern are out of register with one another.
- 49. The decorative cover of claim 41 wherein the polymeric film and the substantially water impervious polymeric film are laminated with a colored adhesive.
- 50. A decorative cover for a floral grouping, the decorative cover comprising:
a sleeve having an upper end, a lower end, an outer peripheral surface, an inner peripheral surface and an inner retaining space in which a floral grouping may be disposed and wherein the inner retaining space is sized to surround a floral grouping when the floral grouping is disposed in the sleeve such that a bloom portion of the floral grouping is exposed near the upper end of the sleeve and a stem portion of the floral grouping is exposed near the lower end of the sleeve, the sleeve formed of a polymeric film having a thickness in a range of from about 0.6 mil to about 10 mil and having at least a portion of one surface thereof modified or textured to provide at least a portion of one of the inner and outer peripheral surfaces of the decorative sleeve with an appearance or texture simulating the appearance or texture of paper.
- 51. The decorative cover of claim 50 further comprising a tie for securing the sleeve about a floral grouping when the floral grouping is disposed within the inner retaining space of the sleeve.
- 52. The decorative cover of claim 50 wherein the sleeve is further comprises a bonding material disposed on a portion thereof for securing the sleeve about a floral grouping when the floral grouping is disposed within the inner retaining space of the sleeve.
- 53. The decorative cover of claim 50 wherein the sleeve further comprises a cinching tab disposed on a portion of the sleeve for securing the sleeve about a floral grouping when the floral grouping is disposed within the inner retaining space of the sleeve.
- 54. The decorative cover of claim 50 wherein the polymeric film further contains printed patterns, embossed patterns or combinations thereof.
- 55. The decorative cover of claim 54 wherein the polymeric film is provided with printed and embossed patterns, and the printed and embossed patterns are in registry with one another.
- 56. The decorative cover of claim 54 wherein the polymeric film is provided with printed and embossed patterns, and the printed and embossed patterns are out of registry with one another.
- 57. The decorative cover of claim 54 wherein the polymeric film is provided with printed and embossed patterns, and at least a portion of the printed and embossed patterns are out of registry with one another.
