This invention relates to picture frames.
Conventional picture frames require opening the back or front to insert the picture. This picture frame is presented in one piece. This design leaves one side open to encourage frequent and easy exchange of 2D and 3D pictures and artwork. This is a simplified approach, designed to encourage children and young people as well as adults to enjoy displaying their own work and that of others. The open slot in one side is unique to these picture frames.
This is a picture frame with one open side, a vision panel in front and hanging system at the back. This frame displays 2 and 3 dimensional pictures and artwork. The design includes this slot feature for receiving paper and card without the need for opening the frame front or back. The range of frames can display single or multiple artworks at the same time, in portrait or landscape orientations.
The drawings depict the outline of the frames. They clearly show the open sided nature of the frames, the depth and the possibility of placing multiple apertures side by side. The back view shows the hanging system.
A picture frame with no need to open the back or front to insert pictures. It features one open side for easy exchange of artwork and pictures. This frame has a back, three sides which have a thickness, and a front, which ‘frames’ or ‘displays’ the picture. The frame has a space between the inside of the front and the inside of the back so that multiple pages can be stored and so that three-dimensional artwork and pictures can be displayed.
The frames can be glazed or unglazed or use a variety of materials to protect the artwork and pictures contained within. The drawings show the frames in their rectangle state but equally the function can be supported where the frames are square, oval or round in shape. The corners can be either sharp or radiuses. The design can support mitred and moulded internal and external angles and corners. The frames can support any finish and can be plain or patterned, satin or gloss, coloured or white in appearance. Special effects and lettering too can be applied to the frames to augment the finish and appearance or personalise the display.
The frames have a hanging system on the rear comprising three holes, positioned so that the frame hangs level with one fixing to the wall. This hanging system on the rear allows the frames to hang in portrait and landscape positions as well as having the open side either to the left, top or right of the frame. The frame can be hung using more traditional methods and can also be free-standing.
The open-sided loading system allows for pictures and artwork to be slotted into place quickly and easily and interchanged frequently. The depth of the frame allows for the display of 3D pictures and artwork as well as the storage of multiple 2D artwork and pictures. The range of frames available allows the artworks and pictures to be shown in a single display as well as in multiples. The drawings show up to three in a straight line but the options can extend in both directions vertically and horizontally. The frames can display artwork and pictures in standard sizes but equally they can be constructed to accept special and commissioned shapes and sizes. The frames can be constructed from a variety of materials.
