Abstract
A hair brush assembly has a disk-shaped brush part having bristles and a disk shaped holding part having an interior cavity. The interior cavity sized to hold at least a part of the bristles. The interior cavity holds at least a part of the bristles when the brush is being stored. The interior cavity storing hair balm, in a way that contacts the bristles. The holding part can attach on to brush part, by mating, or by screwing on. The brush part has perimeter edges that define an outer perimeter of and a lip portion inside the perimeter edges, the lip portion formed of a flat surface, and a brush area inside the lip portion, where the brush area includes a plurality of bristles extending from the flat surface that forms the lip portion.
Description
Background

Hairbrushes are used in many different ways, and it is important that a hairbrush be convenient and ergonomic. In addition, the bristles of the hairbrush often need cleaning and care.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The inventor recognized, however, that there are a number of drawbacks with the current systems.

The present application teaches a system for a hairbrush assembly, where the hairbrush serves as storage for hair balm, and also enables interchanging different hairbrushes with different bristle strengths, to all use the same handle and balm holder.

In another embodiment, a smart hairbrush is described which communicates with a phone app.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

In the Drawings:

FIG. 1 shows a first embodiment, showing the hair brush and balm holder/handle attachment;

FIG. 2 shows a second embodiment where the hair brush screws into the balm holder/handle attachment; and

FIG. 3 shows a block diagram of the device acting as a smart hairbrush.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

A first embodiment is shown in FIG. 1. The embodiments describe a disk-shaped brush where the bristles are held in an interior cavity when not in use, that interior cavity holding hair balm, which can be scented with a balm, e.g., a peppermint balm. The balm holder/handle attachment acts as a bristle cover when the brush is being stored, or is turned upside down to attach on to the handle of the brush, when the brush is being used.

In the FIG. 1 embodiment, a disc shaped brush part 100 includes a circular or disc-shaped brush base, having perimeter edges 110 that define the outer perimeter of the base. There is also a lip portion 115 inside the perimeter edges 110, the lip portion 115 formed of a flat surface. A brush area 120 is inside the lip portion. The brush area 120 includes a plurality of bristles 121 extending from the flat surface that forms the lip portion 115.

The brush part 100 interacts with and is stored partly with a base portion 150. Base portion 150 is also cylindrical, and has an outer perimeter surface 155 which is the same diameter as the perimeter edges 110. A lip portion of the base 165 is a flat portion that is substantially the same size as the lip portion 115 of the brush area. Inside the lip portion is a recessed portion 160 which extends below the surface of the perimeter surface. The recessed portion is recessed deep enough to hold the brush bristles.

When the brush/base is closed, the lip surface 165 of the base presses against the lip surface 115 of the brushes, and the brushes fit into the recessed area 160.

In an embodiment, the recessed portion 160 also holds a balm 165. The brush area 120 fits into the recessed portion 160, and extends into the balm to get some balm material on the bristles 121 every time that the brush is stored.

In an embodiment, shown in FIG. 1, the lip portion 115 of the brush 100 fits on top of the lip portion 165 of the base 150.

In an alternative embodiment, shown in FIG. 2, the outer edge surface of the brush portion 201 includes male screw threads 200 that fit into corresponding female screw threads 210 in the base portion 220.

In another embodiment, the brush portion shown as 300 is a smart brush. The smart brush has a battery 305, which can be a removable button battery behind a battery door 306. The battery 305 powers electrical circuitry including a Bluetooth microcontroller 310 and a gyroscopic sensor 315. The Bluetooth microcontroller 310 communicates with a computer application 330 running on a user's cell phone 335. In operation, the Bluetooth microcontroller sends signals indicative of the movement of the gyroscope. This is translated into a number of movements of the hairbrush. This signal indicative of hair brush movement can be sent to the app 330 and display the number of strokes that a user has used to stroke their hair.

Another aspect is that the top portion can be changed to different bristles to match hair type and/or ethnicity. Usually, hairbrushes are soft, medium and hard. However, the present system allows modified trading-off between different hardnesses of brushes.

The previous description of the disclosed exemplary embodiments is provided to enable any person skilled in the art to make or use the present invention. Various modifications to these exemplary embodiments will be readily apparent to those skilled in the art, and the generic principles defined herein may be applied to other embodiments without departing from the spirit or scope of the invention. Thus, the present invention is not intended to be limited to the embodiments shown herein but is to be accorded the widest scope consistent with the principles and novel features disclosed herein.
