Detailed descriptions of one or more preferred embodiments are provided herein. It is to be understood, however, that the present invention may be embodied in various forms. Therefore, specific details disclosed herein are not to be interpreted as limiting, but rather as a basis for the claims and as a representative basis for teaching one skilled in the art to employ the present invention in any appropriate system, structure or manner.
Flavoring insert 100 can comprise a breakable outer wall 110 with flavoring 150 on the inside. Breakable outer wall 110 can be various materials which are relatively sealing, along with being safe and easily broken when desired. For example, plastic, silicone, cellophane, or polymers. Before being broken, outer wall 110 should seal the flavoring product 150 on the interior 120 of insert 100. Here, the flavoring material 150 can be any flavoring and/or scenting material used to flavor tobacco products. Liquid flavoring/scenting is preferred but a solid or gaseous flavoring/scenting can be used.
One or more inserts 100, 100′, 100″, etc. can be placed in a package 180 of inserts allowing the consumer to choose the amount and extent of flavoring to be added to a product of choice.
In
As shown in
Insert 300 can be of a two part construction having section 330 and section 340. Alternatively, as shown in
In one embodiment the flavoring packaging 180 could include a plurality of inserts 100, 200, 300, 400 with a plurality of different flavoring and/or scents. In one embodiment the different flavored and/or scented inserts could include flavor/scenting indicia. For example, the inserts could be color coded (e.g., purple for grape flavoring, red for cherry, etc.). As another example, the name of the flavor/scent can be imprinted on the insert. As another example a unique identifier could be placed on the insert and a table of flavoring included with the kit. With different flavors/scents for the various inserts, the consumer now would have the choice to customize the flavor along with customize the tobacco filler material for the finished tobacco product. As another example, more than one insert of the same flavor could be included allowing the consumer to increase the strength of the flavor/scent by insert two or more of the same flavored/scented inserts.
Alternatively, the consumer can without squeezing place the removed portion 552 of snuff or chewing tobacco into his mouth and enjoy such without releasing the flavoring contained in inserts 100, 100′. Flavoring inserts 100′, 100′ are constructed such that they will not readily dissolve from contact with saliva of the consumer.
When flavoring is desired insert 100 can be squeezed causing the outer walls 110 of the flavoring inserts to break and release flavoring 120. Because the inserts 100, 100′, etc. are located in the tobacco filler material which is being dipped or smoked the consumer will taste and smell this flavor. Additionally, where the tobacco product is smoked, the direction of smoke flow will preferably pass though the released flavoring causing the smoke to pick up such flavoring.
