Abstract
A smoking materials packaging device may be moved between an open and closed position, and may include a back panel movingly coupled to a first side panel via a first hinge. A front panel may be movingly coupled to a side of the first side panel opposite to the back panel via a second hinge. A second side panel may be movingly coupled to a side of the front panel opposite to the first side panel via a third hinge. A flap panel may be movingly coupled to a side of the second side panel opposite to the front panel via a fourth hinge. Smoking material(s) may be coupled to the front and back panels. A first magnetic element may be coupled to the flap panel and a second magnetic element may be coupled to the back panel, and the magnetic elements may secure the device in the closed position.
Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

This patent specification relates to the field of smoking equipment. More specifically, this patent specification relates to a packaging device for organizing and dispensing smoking materials.


BACKGROUND

A wide variety of materials exit which are used to facilitate smoking. Rolling papers and smoking tips are two smoking materials which are especially useful for smokers of tobacco, marijuana, and other smoking consumables. Users of these smoking materials appreciate the need for devices which may be used to keep these materials on hand in an easy to access manner. They also appreciate the need for devices which may be used to secure these materials so that they remain organized and protected during storage and transportation.


Therefore, a need exists for a novel packaging device for organizing and dispensing smoking materials.


BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

A smoking materials packaging device is provided. In some embodiments, the device may include a first side panel, and a first hinge may couple the first side panel to a back panel. The back panel may have a terminal edge, and the terminal edge may be opposingly positioned to the first hinge. A second hinge may couple a front panel to the first side panel so that the front panel and back panel are separated by the first side panel. A third hinge may couple the front panel to a second side panel so that the second side panel and first side panel are separated by the front panel. A fourth hinge may couple a flap panel to the second side panel so that the front panel and flap panel are separated by the second side panel. A first smoking material may be coupled to one of the front panel and the back panel, and a second smoking material coupled to one of the front panel and the back panel. A first magnetic element may be coupled to the flap panel. The flap panel may comprise a width dimension (W5) and the first magnetic element may comprise a width dimension (M1), and the M1 may be between 50 and 100 percent of W5. A second magnetic element may be coupled to the back panel. The back panel may comprise a width dimension (W1) and the second magnetic element may comprise a width dimension (M2), and the M2 may be between 50 and 100 percent of W1. The device may be moved between an open position, in which the terminal edge is moved away from the second side panel, and a closed position, in which the terminal edge is moved proximate to the second side panel and by having the flap panel placed into contact with the back panel, and wherein the device is maintained in the closed position via magnetic attraction between the first magnetic element and the second magnetic element.

As used herein, the term “and/or” includes any and all combinations of one or more of the associated listed items. As used herein, the singular forms “a,” “an,” and “the” are intended to include the plural forms as well as the singular forms, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise. For purposes of description herein, the terms “upper”, “lower”, “left”, “right”, “rear”, “front”, “side”, “vertical”, “horizontal”, and derivatives thereof shall relate to the invention as oriented in FIG. 1. However, one will understand that the invention may assume various alternative orientations and step sequences, except where expressly specified to the contrary. Therefore, the specific devices and processes illustrated in the attached drawings, and described in the following specification, are simply exemplary embodiments of the inventive concepts defined in the appended claims. Hence, specific dimensions and other physical characteristics relating to the embodiments disclosed herein are not to be considered as limiting, unless the claims expressly state otherwise.


Although the terms “first”, “second”, etc. are used herein to describe various elements, these elements should not be limited by these terms. These terms are only used to distinguish one element from another element. For example, the first element may be designated as the second element, and the second element may be likewise designated as the first element without departing from the scope of the invention.


As used in this application, the term “about” or “approximately” refers to a range of values within plus or minus 10% of the specified number. Additionally, as used in this application, the term “substantially” means that the actual value is within about 10% of the actual desired value, particularly within about 5% of the actual desired value and especially within about 1% of the actual desired value of any variable, element or limit set forth herein.


A new packaging device for organizing and dispensing smoking materials is discussed herein. In the following description, for purposes of explanation, numerous specific details are set forth in order to provide a thorough understanding of the present invention. It will be evident, however, to one skilled in the art that the present invention may be practiced without these specific details.


The present disclosure is to be considered as an exemplification of the invention and is not intended to limit the invention to the specific embodiments illustrated by the figures or description below.


The present invention will now be described by example and through referencing the appended figures representing preferred and alternative embodiments. FIGS. 1-12 illustrate an example of a smoking materials packaging device (“the device”) 100 according to various embodiments. In some embodiments, the device 100 may comprise back panel 11 that may be movingly coupled to a first side panel 12 via a first hinge 16. A front panel 13 may be movingly coupled to a side of the first side panel 12 opposite to the back panel 11 via a second hinge 17. A second side panel 14 may be movingly coupled to a side of the front panel 13 opposite to the first side panel 12 via a third hinge 18. A flap panel 15 may be movingly coupled to the second side panel 14 opposite to the front panel 13 via a fourth hinge 19. One or more smoking materials, such as rolling papers 201 and smoking tips 202, may be coupled to the front panel 13 and/or back panel 11.


In some embodiments, the device 100 may be moved between an open position 71, granting access to the smoking materials 201, 202, and a closed position 72, preventing access to the smoking materials 201, 202. A first magnetic element 21 may be coupled to the flap panel 15, and a second magnetic element 22 may be coupled to the back panel 11. When the device 100 is moved into the closed position 72, the flap panel 15 may be removably coupled to the back panel 11 via magnetic attraction between the first magnetic element 21 and second magnetic element 22 to secure the device 100 in the closed position 72.


In preferred embodiments, panels 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, may be made from cardboard. In further embodiments, panels 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, may be made from plastic, paper, cardboard chipboard, or other suitable packaging material and combinations of materials that may be purchased in by a consumer. In preferred embodiments, one or more, and more preferably each, panel 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, may comprise a cellulose material, such as paper, cardboard, cardboard chipboard, acetate, and other materials made from or comprising cellulose, including materials having natural cellulose fibers, materials having manufactured cellulose fibers, composite materials having a combination of a fiber with a binder material (matrix), etc.


In preferred embodiments, the panels 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, may comprise a rectangular shape so as to have two length dimension sides that are approximately parallel and two width dimension sides that are approximately parallel to each other but approximately perpendicular to the two length dimension sides. In other embodiments, the panels 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, may be configured with any other shape. In further preferred embodiments, the device 100 may comprise five panels 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, while in other embodiments, the device 100 may comprise three, four, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, or more, such as a plurality of panels 11, 12, 13, 14, 15.


A back panel 11 may comprise a terminal edge 31 which may form the portions of the back panel 11 that may be most distal to the first hinge 16 so that the terminal edge 31 may be opposingly positioned to the first hinge 16. In some embodiments, the device 100 may be moved between an open position 71, in which the terminal edge 31 may be moved away (or relatively farther) from the second side panel 14, and a closed position 72, in which the terminal edge 31 may be moved proximate to (or relatively closer to, such as in contact with) the second side panel 14 and by having the flap panel 15 placed into contact with the back panel 11, and the device may be maintained in the closed position 72 via magnetic attraction between the first magnetic element 21 and the second magnetic element 22.


A front panel 13 and a back panel 11 may be configured in substantially the same shape so as to have approximately the same length and with dimensions. In preferred embodiments, a front panel 13 may comprise slightly larger length dimensions than the back panel 11 so that when positioned in the closed position 72, the device 100 may comprise a generally rectangular prism shape. A front panel 13 may comprise a length dimension (L3) and, and a back panel 11 may comprise a length dimension (L1). In some embodiments, the L3 of a front panel 13 and the L1 of a back panel 11 may be approximately between 1.5 inches and 4.0 inches, and more preferably approximately between 2.0 inches and 2.125 inches. In further embodiments, the L3 of a front panel 13 and the L1 of a back panel 11 may be approximately between 2.0 inches and 5.0 inches, and more preferably approximately between 3.0 inches and 3.5 inches.


Generally, one or more smoking materials, such as rolling papers 201 and smoking tips 202, may be coupled to the front panel 13 and/or back panel 11. For example, the front panel 13 may comprise four packs of smoking tips 202, each pack of smoking tips 202 having approximately 20 smoking tips 202, and the back panel 11 may comprise two packs of rolling papers 201, each pack of rolling papers 201 having approximately 40 rolling papers 201.


In some embodiments, a smoking material may be coupled to the back panel 11 and the smoking material may comprise one or more units of rolling papers 201, such as packs of rolling papers 201. In further embodiments, a smoking material may be coupled to the back panel 11 and the smoking material may comprise one or more units of smoking tips 202, such as packs of smoking tips 202. In some embodiments, a smoking material may be coupled to the back panel 11 and the smoking material may comprise one or more units of smoking tips 202, such as packs of smoking tips 202. In further embodiments, a smoking material may be coupled to the back panel 11 and the smoking material may comprise one or more units of rolling papers 201, such as packs of rolling papers 201. In preferred embodiments, the device 100 may comprise one or more units of rolling papers 201 and one or more units of smoking tips 202.


In other embodiments, the front panel 13 and/or back panel 11 may comprise any number and configuration of smoking materials. Generally, smoking tips 202 may comprise shorter lengths of material which may be rolled and/or folded and inserted in the mouth end of a rolled cigarette, to preferably prevent a user from burning their fingers or lips and to optionally function as a filter. Smoking tips 202 may comprise any type of material, such as paper and carboard, including pure organic hemp paper and carboard, rice paper and carboard, and organic all-natural wood pulp paper and carboard. Rolling papers 201 may comprise any type of rolling papers, such as pure organic hemp rolling papers, rice paper rolling papers, and organic all-natural wood pulp rolling papers. Similarly, smoking tips 202 may comprise any type of material, such as pure organic hemp paper, rice paper, and organic all-natural wood pulp paper.


In preferred embodiments, the smoking materials 201, 202, may be coupled to the front panel 13 and/or back panel 11 so that when the device 100 is in the closed position 72, the smoking materials 201, 202, may be positioned within the interior of the device 100, thereby preventing access to the smoking materials 201, 202 when the device 100 is in the closed position 72 (FIGS. 3-10). Smoking materials 201, 202, may be coupled to the front panel 13 and/or back panel 11 with adhesive, by being integrally formed together, or with any other suitable coupling method.


The panels 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, may be movably coupled together via one or more hinges 16, 17, 18, 19. In preferred embodiments, a first side panel 12 may be positioned between the front panel 13 and back panel 11 with a first hinge 16 coupling the back panel 11 to the first side panel 12 and a second hinge 17 coupling the front panel 13 to the first side panel 12. In some embodiments, a first side panel 12 may comprise a length dimension (L2) of approximately between 0.2 and 0.5 inches, and more preferably approximately between 0.35 inches and 0.4 inches.


In preferred embodiments, a hinge 16, 17, 18, 19, may be used to flexibly attach two panels 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, together. As used herein, the terms “flexibly attached”, “flexibly connected”, and the like, refer to a bendable attachment of two components, such as can be achieved by a hinge 16, 17, 18, 19. The term “hinge” encompasses any type of hinge known in the art, including so-called “living” hinges, which typically comprise a linear, relatively flexible area between two relatively more rigid components, such as a line of thinner or flexible material between thicker material portions, as is well known in the art.


The front panel 13 and flap panel 15 may also be movably coupled together via one or more hinges, such as a third hinge 18 and a fourth hinge 19. In preferred embodiments, a second side panel 14 may be positioned between the front panel 13 and flap panel 15 with a third hinge 18 coupling the front panel 13 to the second side panel 14 and a fourth hinge 19 coupling the flap panel 15 to the second side panel 14. In some embodiments, a second side panel 14 may comprise a length dimension (L4) of approximately between 0.2 and 0.5 inches, and more preferably approximately between 0.35 inches and 0.4 inches.


The device 100 may comprise a flap panel 15 which may be configured to be removably coupled to portions of the back panel 11 to govern the ability of the device 100 to be moved out of the closed position 72. In preferred embodiments, the flap panel 15 may be removably coupled to the back panel 11 via magnetic attraction between one or more first magnetic elements 21 that may be coupled to the flap panel 15 and one or more second magnetic elements 22 that may be coupled to a back panel 11 as shown in FIG. 4. In some embodiments, a flap panel 15 may comprise a length dimension (L5) of approximately between 0.2 and 5.0 inches, and more preferably approximately between 0.35 inches and 2.0 inches.


Each panel 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, may comprise an interior surface 11A, 12A, 13A, 14A, 15A, and an exterior surface 11B, 12B, 13B, 14B, 15B. Generally, the interior surface 11A, 12A, 13A, 14A, 15A of a panel 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, may be opposingly positioned to its exterior surface 11B, 12B, 13B, 14B, 15B. When the device 100 is in the open position 71, the interior surfaces 11A, 12A, 13A, 14A, 15A, may be visible to a user, and when the device 100 is in the closed position 72, the interior surfaces 11A, 12A, 13A, 14A, 15A, may not be visible to a user. In preferred embodiments, the magnetic elements 21, 22, may removably coupled the interior surface 15A of the flap panel 15 to the exterior surface 11B of the back panel 11.


A magnetic element 21, 22, may be coupled to a flap 15 or back panel 11 with adhesive, by being integrally molded together, or with any other suitable coupling method. In some embodiments, a magnetic element 21, 22, may be coupled to an interior surface 15B of a flap 15 or to an exterior surface 11A of a back panel 11, while in other embodiments, a magnetic element 21, 22, may be coupled to a flap 15 or back panel 11 by being embedded within portions of the flap 15 or back panel 11. For example, a first magnetic element 21 may be coupled back panel 11 that may be formed by two or more laminated or otherwise bonded sheets of cardboard by having the first magnetic element 21 sandwiched or positioned between two sheets of cardboard.


The magnetic elements 21, 22, may comprise any material that is capable of magnetically adhering to another magnetic material through the principle of magnetism. In some embodiments, the magnetic elements 21, 22, may comprise the same magnetic material, while in other embodiments, the magnetic elements may comprise one or more different magnetic materials. Example magnetic materials include: a high-coercivity ferromagnetic compound type of magnetic material such as ferric oxide mixed with a plastic binder, ferrite, manganese-zinc ferrite, nickel-zinc ferrite, strontium ferrite, cobalt ferrite, barium ferrite, magnetic alloys such as alnico, comol, Hypernom® magnetic alloy, manganese-zinc ferrite, iron-silicon magnet alloys, nickel-zinc ferrite, ferritic stainless steel alloys, strontium ferrite, barium ferrite, alnico, iron-silicon magnet alloy, Chromindur® (Chromium-Cobalt-Iron) alloys, Silmanal (Silver-Manganese-Aluminium) alloys, Platinax II (platinum-cobalt) alloy, Bismanol (manganese bismuthide) alloy, cobalt-platinum alloys, chromium-manganese antimonide alloy, vectolite (cobalt ferrite), magnadur (sintered barium ferrite), lodex (oxide-coated iron-cobalt particles), awaruite (Ni2Fe to Ni3Fe nickel-iron alloy), wairauite, rare earth magnets such as samarium-cobalt, cesium-cobalt, neodymium-iron-boron, other neodymium magnet materials, metallic oxides such as magnetite, ulvospinel, hematite, ilmenite, maghemite, jacobsite, iron sulfides such as pyrrhotite, greigite, troilite, metallic oxyhydroxides such as goethite, lepidocrocite, feroxyhyte, ferrimagnetic materials such as magnetite, pyrrhotite, cubic ferrites, hexagonal ferrites, ferromagnetic materials including metals such as iron, nickel, cobalt, metal alloys containing iron, nickel, and/or cobalt, soft magnetic materials, hard magnetic materials, or any other suitable magnetic material.


When describing the device 100, and as perhaps best shown in FIGS. 11 and 12, length and width dimensions are described. Length dimensions L1, L2, L3, L4, L5, etc., for each of the panels 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, may contribute to the overall length dimension (OL) of the device 100 when in the open position 71. Width dimensions for the panels 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, may preferably be approximately equal with the overall width dimension (OW) of the device 100 and may be defined by the panel(s) 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, having the largest width dimension(s). Furthermore, panels 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, that are coupled together may be coupled together via a hinge 16, 17, 18, 19, along all or portions of their respective width dimensions. The flap panel 15 may comprise a width dimension (W5) and, likewise, the back panel 11 may comprise a width dimension (W1). Optionally, the W1 and/or the W5 may be approximately equal to the OW.


The magnetic elements 21, 22, may be configured in any size and shape. In some embodiments, the first magnetic element 21 may be coupled to the flap panel 15, while the second magnetic element 22 may be coupled to the back panel 11. In other embodiments, the first magnetic element 21 may be coupled to the back panel 11, while the second magnetic element 22 may be coupled to the flap panel 15.


A first magnetic element 21 may comprise a width dimension (M1), and a second magnetic element 22 may comprise a width dimension (M2). In some embodiments, a magnetic element 21, 22, may comprise one continuous length of magnetic material so that its length dimension Ml, M2, may be formed by the greatest width dimension of the continuous length of magnetic material. In other embodiments, a magnetic element 21, 22, may comprise two or more lengths of magnetic material so that its length dimension M1, M2, may be formed by the total of the greatest width dimensions of each of the lengths of magnetic material, including any spaces between the lengths of magnetic material.


In some embodiments, a first magnetic element 21 may be coupled to the flap panel 15, and M1 may be approximately between 50 and 100 percent of W5. In further embodiments, M1 may be approximately between 80 and 100 percent of W5. In some embodiments, a second magnetic element 22 may be coupled to the back panel 11, and M2 may be approximately between 50 and 100 percent of W1. In further embodiments, M2 may be approximately between 80 and 100 percent of W1. In still further embodiments, M1 may be approximately between 50 and 100 percent of W5, M2 may be approximately between 50 and 100 percent of W1, and M1 may be approximately between 95 and 105 percent of M2.


While some exemplary shapes and sizes have been provided for elements of the device 100, it should be understood to one of ordinary skill in the art that the panels 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, hinges 16, 17, 18, 19, magnetic elements 21, 22, and any other element described herein may be configured in a plurality of sizes and shapes including “T” shaped, “X” shaped, square shaped, rectangular shaped, cylinder shaped, cuboid shaped, hexagonal prism shaped, triangular prism shaped, or any other geometric or non-geometric shape, including combinations of shapes. It is not intended herein to mention all the possible alternatives, equivalent forms or ramifications of the invention. It is understood that the terms and proposed shapes used herein are merely descriptive, rather than limiting, and that various changes, such as to size and shape, may be made without departing from the spirit or scope of the invention.


Additionally, while some materials have been provided, in other embodiments, the elements that comprise the device 100 may be made from or may comprise durable materials such as aluminum, steel, other metals and metal alloys, wood, hard rubbers, hard plastics, fiber reinforced plastics, carbon fiber, fiber glass, resins, polymers or any other suitable materials including combinations of materials. Additionally, one or more elements may be made from or comprise durable and slightly flexible materials such as soft plastics, silicone, soft rubbers, or any other suitable materials including combinations of materials. In some embodiments, one or more of the elements that comprise the device 100 may be coupled or connected together with heat bonding, chemical bonding, adhesives, clasp type fasteners, clip type fasteners, rivet type fasteners, threaded type fasteners, other types of fasteners, or any other suitable joining method. In other embodiments, one or more of the elements that comprise the device 100 may be coupled or removably connected by being press fit or snap fit together, by one or more fasteners such as hook and loop type or Velcro® fasteners, magnetic type fasteners, threaded type fasteners, sealable tongue and groove fasteners, snap fasteners, clip type fasteners, clasp type fasteners, ratchet type fasteners, a push-to-lock type connection method, a turn-to-lock type connection method, a slide-to-lock type connection method or any other suitable temporary connection method as one reasonably skilled in the art could envision to serve the same function. In further embodiments, one or more of the elements that comprise the device 100 may be coupled by being one of connected to and integrally formed with another element of the device 100.


Although the present invention has been illustrated and described herein with reference to preferred embodiments and specific examples thereof, it will be readily apparent to those of ordinary skill in the art that other embodiments and examples may perform similar functions and/or achieve like results. All such equivalent embodiments and examples are within the spirit and scope of the present invention, are contemplated thereby, and are intended to be covered by the following claims.

A smoking materials packaging device, the device comprising: a first side panel;a first hinge coupling the first side panel to a back panel, the back panel having a terminal edge, the terminal edge opposingly positioned to the first hinge;a second hinge coupling a front panel to the first side panel so that the front panel and back panel are separated by the first side panel;a third hinge coupling the front panel to a second side panel so that the second side panel and first side panel are separated by the front panel;a fourth hinge coupling a flap panel to the second side panel so that the front panel and flap panel are separated by the second side panel;a first smoking material coupled to one of the front panel and the back panel;a second smoking material coupled to one of the front panel and the back panel;a first magnetic element coupled to the flap panel, wherein the flap panel comprises a width dimension (W5) and the first magnetic element comprises a width dimension (M1), and wherein M1 is between 50 and 100 percent of W5; anda second magnetic element coupled to the back panel, wherein the back panel comprises a width dimension (W1) and the second magnetic element comprises a width dimension (M2), wherein M2 is between 50 and 100 percent of W1, and wherein the device may be moved between an open position, in which the terminal edge is moved away from the second side panel, and a closed position, in which the terminal edge is moved proximate to the second side panel and by having the flap panel placed into contact with the back panel, and wherein the device is maintained in the closed position via magnetic attraction between the first magnetic element and the second magnetic element.
  • 2. The device of claim 1, wherein M1 is between 80 and 100 percent of W5.
  • 3. The device of claim 1, wherein M2 is between 80 and 100 percent of W1.
  • 4. The device of claim 1, wherein M1 is between 50 and 100 percent of W5, wherein M2 is between 50 and 100 percent of W1, and wherein M1 is between 95 and 105 percent of M2.
  • 5. The device of claim 1, wherein the first smoking material is selected from the group consisting of rolling papers and smoking tips.
  • 6. The device of claim 1, wherein the second smoking material is selected from the group consisting of rolling papers and smoking tips.
  • 7. The device of claim 1, wherein the first smoking material is a different smoking material than the second smoking material.
  • 8. The device of claim 1, wherein the first magnetic element comprises a magnetic material selected from the group consisting of: ferrite, ferromagnetic metal, ferric oxide, manganese-zinc ferrite, nickel-zinc ferrite, strontium ferrite, cobalt ferrite, barium ferrite, alnico, iron-silicon magnet alloy, ferritic steel and ferritic stainless steel, Chromium-Cobalt-Iron alloy, iron-cobalt alloy, Silver-Manganese-Aluminium alloy, manganese bismuthide alloy, platinum-cobalt alloy, chromium-manganese antimonide alloy, sintered barium ferrite, oxide-coated iron-cobalt particles, nickel-iron alloy, samarium-cobalt alloy, cesium-cobalt alloy, and neodymium-iron-boron alloy.
  • 9. The device of claim 1, wherein the second magnetic element comprises a magnetic material selected from the group consisting of: ferrite, ferromagnetic metal, ferric oxide, manganese-zinc ferrite, nickel-zinc ferrite, strontium ferrite, cobalt ferrite, barium ferrite, alnico, iron-silicon magnet alloy, ferritic steel and ferritic stainless steel, Chromium-Cobalt-Iron alloy, iron-cobalt alloy, Silver-Manganese-Aluminium alloy, manganese bismuthide alloy, platinum-cobalt alloy, chromium-manganese antimonide alloy, sintered barium ferrite, oxide-coated iron-cobalt particles, nickel-iron alloy, samarium-cobalt alloy, cesium-cobalt alloy, and neodymium-iron-boron alloy.
  • 10. The device of claim 1, wherein a panel comprises a cellulose material, the panel selected from the group consisting of the back panel, the first side panel, the front panel, the second side panel, and the flap panel.
  • 11. The device of claim 1, wherein the back panel, the first side panel, the front panel, the second side panel, and the flap panel each comprise a cellulose material.
  • 12. A smoking materials packaging device, the device comprising: a first side panel;a first hinge coupling the first side panel to a back panel, the back panel having a terminal edge, the terminal edge opposingly positioned to the first hinge;a second hinge coupling a front panel to the first side panel so that the front panel and back panel are separated by the first side panel;a third hinge coupling the front panel to a second side panel so that the second side panel and first side panel are separated by the front panel;a fourth hinge coupling a flap panel to the second side panel so that the front panel and flap panel are separated by the second side panel;a first smoking material coupled to one of the front panel and the back panel;a second smoking material coupled to one of the front panel and the back panel;a first magnetic element coupled to the flap panel, wherein the flap panel comprises a width dimension (W5) and the first magnetic element comprises a width dimension (M1), and wherein M1 is between 80 and 100 percent of W5; anda second magnetic element coupled to the back panel, wherein the back panel comprises a width dimension (W1) and the second magnetic element comprises a width dimension (M2), wherein M2 is between 80 and 100 percent of W1, and wherein the device may be moved between an open position, in which the terminal edge is moved away from the second side panel, and a closed position, in which the terminal edge is moved proximate to the second side panel and by having the flap panel placed into contact with the back panel, and wherein the device is maintained in the closed position via magnetic attraction between the first magnetic element and the second magnetic element.
  • 13. The device of claim 12, wherein M1 is between 95 and 105 percent of M2.
  • 14. The device of claim 12, wherein the first smoking material is selected from the group consisting of rolling papers and smoking tips.
  • 15. The device of claim 12, wherein the second smoking material is selected from the group consisting of rolling papers and smoking tips.
  • 16. The device of claim 12, wherein the first smoking material is a different smoking material than the second smoking material.
  • 17. The device of claim 12, wherein the first magnetic element comprises a magnetic material selected from the group consisting of: ferrite, ferromagnetic metal, ferric oxide, manganese-zinc ferrite, nickel-zinc ferrite, strontium ferrite, cobalt ferrite, barium ferrite, alnico, iron-silicon magnet alloy, ferritic steel and ferritic stainless steel, Chromium-Cobalt-Iron alloy, iron-cobalt alloy, Silver-Manganese-Aluminium alloy, manganese bismuthide alloy, platinum-cobalt alloy, chromium-manganese antimonide alloy, sintered barium ferrite, oxide-coated iron-cobalt particles, nickel-iron alloy, samarium-cobalt alloy, cesium-cobalt alloy, and neodymium-iron-boron alloy.

The device of claim 12, wherein the second magnetic element comprises a magnetic material selected from the group consisting of: ferrite, ferromagnetic metal, ferric oxide, manganese-zinc ferrite, nickel-zinc ferrite, strontium ferrite, cobalt ferrite, barium ferrite, alnico, iron-silicon magnet alloy, ferritic steel and ferritic stainless steel, Chromium-Cobalt-Iron alloy, iron-cobalt alloy, Silver-Manganese-Aluminium alloy, manganese bismuthide alloy, platinum-cobalt alloy, chromium-manganese antimonide alloy, sintered barium ferrite, oxide-coated iron-cobalt particles, nickel-iron alloy, samarium-cobalt alloy, cesium-cobalt alloy, and neodymium-iron-boron alloy.
  • 19. The device of claim 12, wherein a panel comprises a cellulose material, the panel selected from the group consisting of the back panel, the first side panel, the front panel, the second side panel, and the flap panel.
  • 20. The device of claim 12, wherein the back panel, the first side panel, the front panel, the second side panel, and the flap panel each comprise a cellulose material.
