Abstract
A sock coupling device prevents a pair of socks from being separated from each other to inhibit loss of either sock. The device includes a pair of socks. Each of a pair of straps is coupled to a respective one of the socks. Each of a pair of mating members is coupled to an associated one of the straps wherein the socks are coupled together when the mating members are coupled together.
Description
BACKGROUND OF THE DISCLOSURE

1. Field of the Disclosure


The disclosure relates to coupling devices and more particularly pertains to a new coupling device for preventing a pair of socks from being separated from each other to inhibit loss of either sock.


2. Summary of the Disclosure


An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a pair of socks. Each of a pair of straps is coupled to a respective one of the socks. Each of a pair of mating members is coupled to an associated one of the straps wherein the socks are coupled together when the mating members are coupled together.


There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.


The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 5 thereof, a new coupling device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.


As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 5, the sock coupling device 10 generally comprises a pair of socks 12. Each of the socks 12 has a respective toe 14, a respective heel 16, and a respective perimeter edge 18 defining respective openings 20 into each sock 12 allowing each sock to be worn on a human foot. Each of a pair of straps 22 is coupled to a respective one of the socks 12. Each strap 22 has a planar section 24 and a collar section 26. The collar section 26 extends from a surface 28 of the planar section 24. Each strap 22 may be affixed to the associated sock 12 by an adhesive on the surface 28. Each strap 22 may be constructed of a nylon material, or the like, preventing abrasion of the human foot by the strap 22 when the sock 12 is worn. Each strap 22 has an elongated shape. A longitudinal axis of each strap 22 is oriented transverse to a flat bottom surface 30 of the associated one of the socks 12. Each of a pair of mating members 32 is coupled to an associated one of the straps 22. The socks 12 are coupled together when the mating members 32 are coupled together. Each of the mating members 32 may be constructed of a nylon material, or the like. Each mating member 32 is coupled to the collar section 26 of the associated one of the straps 22 such that each mating member 32 is positioned on an exterior side 34 of the associated sock 12. The mating members 32 comprise a male snap 36 and a female snap 38. Each of a pair of apertures 40 extends through a respective one of the socks 12. Each mating member 32 engages an associated one of the straps 22 through the aperture 40 extending through the associated one of the socks 12. The collar section 26 of each strap 22 is positioned in the aperture 40 in the respective one of the socks 12. Each aperture 40 is positioned between the heel 16 and the perimeter edge 18 of the associated sock 12. Each aperture 40 is further positioned closer to the perimeter edge 18 of the associated sock 12 than the aperture 40 is positioned to the heel 16 of the associated sock 12. Thus, each mating member 32 is configured for positioning outside of a low cut shoe or the like to prevent abrasion of the shoe by the exposed mating member 32 while the socks 12 are worn. Each aperture 40 is positioned opposite the toe 14 wherein the aperture 40 is configured for aligning with a respective Achilles tendon of a wearer of the socks 12.


In use, while not being worn the socks 12 are coupled together using the mating members 32. The socks 12 remain engaged for washing, sorting, and storing until ready to be worn again.


With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.


Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.

Claims
  • 1. A sock coupling device comprising: a pair of socks, each of said socks having a toe, a heel, and a perimeter edge defining respective openings into said sock;a pair of straps, each said strap being coupled to a respective one of said socks, each said strap having a planar section and a collar section, said collar section extending from a surface of said planar section;a pair of mating members, each said mating member being coupled to an associated one of said straps wherein said socks are coupled together when said mating members are coupled together; anda pair of apertures, each said aperture extending through a respective one of said socks, each said collar section being positioned in a respective one of said apertures, each said mating member having a respective protrusion engaging a receiver extending into said collar section of an associated one of said straps through said aperture extending through said associated one of said socks.

  • 5. The device of claim 1, further comprising said mating members comprising a male snap and a female snap.
  • 6. The device of claim , further comprising each said aperture being positioned between said heel and said perimeter edge.
  • 7. The device of claim 6, further comprising each said aperture being positioned closer to said perimeter edge of said associated sock than said aperture is positioned to said heel of said associated sock.
  • 8. The device of claim 8, further comprising each said aperture being positioned opposite said toe wherein said aperture is configured for aligning with a respective Achilles tendon of a wearer of said socks.
  • 9. The device of claim 1, further comprising each said strap being constructed of a nylon material.
  • 10. The device of claim 1, further comprising each said strap having an elongated shape, a longitudinal axis of each said strap being oriented transverse to a flat bottom surface of said associated one of said socks.
  • 11. The device of claim 1, further comprising each of said mating members being constructed of a nylon material.
  • 12. A sock coupling device comprising: a pair of socks, each of said socks having a toe, a heel, and a perimeter edge defining respective openings into said sock;a pair of straps, each said strap being coupled to a respective one of said socks, each said strap having a planar section and a collar section, said collar section extending from a surface of said planar section, each said strap being constructed of a nylon material, each said strap having an elongated shape, a longitudinal axis of each said strap being oriented transverse to a flat bottom surface of said associated one of said socks;a pair of mating members, each said mating member being coupled to an associated one of said straps wherein said socks are coupled together when said mating members are coupled together, each of said mating members being constructed of a nylon material, each said mating member being coupled to said collar section of said associated one of said straps such that each said mating member is positioned on an exterior side of said associated sock, said mating members comprising a male snap and a female snap; anda pair of apertures, each said aperture extending through a respective one of said socks, each said mating member having a respective protrusion engaging a receiver extending into said collar section of an associated one of said straps through said aperture extending through said associated one of said socks, said collar section of each said strap being positioned in said aperture in said respective one of said socks, each said aperture being positioned between said heel and said perimeter edge, each said aperture being positioned closer to said perimeter edge of said associated sock than said aperture is positioned to said heel of said associated sock, each said aperture being positioned opposite said toe wherein said aperture is configured for aligning with a respective Achilles tendon of a wearer of said socks.
