Claims
- 1. A mattress assembly for use in a sofa sleeper and adapted to be folded within the sofa sleeper, comprising:
a first mattress having an innerspring construction; a second mattress having an air bladder therein, the second mattress disposed on top of the first mattress, the first and second mattresses each having a head end and a foot end, the second mattress including:
a cover border coupled to an edge of the first mattress and extending upwardly therefrom; and a top cover removably coupled to the cover border, the top cover and cover border forming a cavity for receipt of the air bladder; and a valve adapted to selectively allow air into and out of the air bladder, wherein the top cover selectively exposes the valve for operations thereon.
- 2. The mattress assembly of claim 1, wherein a top surface of the air bladder is made from a noise-reducing material.
- 3. The mattress assembly of claim 1, wherein the top cover is coupled to the cover border with a zipper extending substantially all the way around the top edge of the cover border.
- 4. A sofa sleeper, comprising:
a sofa frame having a back and a pair of opposed arms; a sleeper assembly coupled to the sofa frame, the sleeper assembly including:
a mattress frame that folds into and out of the sofa frame, the mattress frame extendable into a position to provide a sleeping support surface; a mattress assembly having:
a first mattress having an innerspring construction; a second mattress having an air bladder therein, the second mattress disposed on top of the first mattress, the first and second mattresses each having a head end and a foot end, a cover border coupled to a top edge of the first mattress and extending upwardly therefrom, and a top cover removably coupled to the cover border, the top cover and cover border forming a cavity for receipt of the air bladder; and a valve coupled to the air bladder on the second mattress that is adapted to selectively allow air into and out of the air bladder, wherein the top cover selectively exposes the valve for operations thereon.
- 5. The sofa sleeper of claim 4, wherein a top surface of the air bladder is made from a noise-reducing material.
- 6. The sofa sleeper of claim 4, wherein the top cover is coupled to the cover border with a zipper extending substantially all the way around the top edge of the cover border.
- 7. A mattress assembly for use in a sofa sleeper and adapted to be folded within the sofa sleeper, comprising:
a first mattress having an innerspring construction; a second mattress having an air bladder therein, the second mattress disposed on top of the first mattress, the first and second mattresses each having a head end and a foot end, the second mattress including:
an inner panel coupled to an edge of the first mattress; a cover border coupled to an edge of the inner panel and extending upwardly therefrom; and a top cover removably coupled to the cover border, the top cover, inner panel, and cover border forming a cavity for receipt of the air bladder; and a valve adapted to selectively allow air into and out of the air bladder, the valve being coupled to the air bladder on the second mattress and located adjacent the head end of the second mattress, wherein the top cover selectively exposes the valve for operations thereon.
- 8. The mattress assembly of claim 7, wherein a top surface of the air bladder is made from a noise-reducing material.
- 9. The mattress assembly of claim 7, wherein the top cover is coupled to the cover border with a zipper extending substantially all the way around the top edge of the cover border.
- 10. A sofa sleeper, comprising:
a sofa frame having a back and a pair of opposed arms; a sleeper assembly coupled to the sofa frame, the sleeper assembly including:
a mattress frame that folds into and out of the sofa frame, the mattress frame extendable into a position to provide a sleeping support surface; a mattress assembly having:
a first mattress having an innerspring construction; a second mattress having an air bladder therein, the second mattress disposed on top of the first mattress, the first and second mattresses each having a head end and a foot end, an inner panel coupled to a top edge of the first mattress, a cover border coupled to the inner panel and extending upwardly therefrom, and a top cover removably coupled to the cover border, the top cover, inner panel, and cover border forming a cavity for receipt of the air bladder; and a valve coupled to the air bladder on the second mattress that is adapted to selectively allow air into and out of the air bladder, the valve located adjacent the head end of the second mattress, wherein the top cover selectively exposes the valve for operations thereon.
- 11. The sofa sleeper of claim 10, wherein a top surface of the air bladder is made from a noise-reducing material.
- 12. The sofa sleeper of claim 10, wherein the top cover is coupled to the cover border with a zipper extending substantially all the way around the top edge of the cover border.
- 13. The sofa sleeper of claim 10, wherein the valve is located adjacent a corner on the head end of the second mattress.
