Claims
- 1. A solenoid operated blanking block valve for use in a well comprising,
- a housing having a bore therethrough,
- an upwardly facing valve seat in the bore,
- a flapper valve closure element positioned above the valve seat moving between an open position to a closed position seated on the valve seat for blocking off downward flow through the bore,
- a flow tube telescopically movable in the housing, and movable upwardly through the valve seat for opening the valve, and movable downwardly for allowing the flapper to close,
- biasing means in the housing for biasing the flow tube upwardly for opening the valve,
- an armature secured to the flow tube, and
- a solenoid coil in the housing for attracting the armature and moving the flow tube downwardly for allowing the valve to close.
- 2. The blanking block valve of claim 1 including,
- a transducer connected to the valve and electrically connected to the well surface for determining the position of the valve.
