Claims
- 1. A solenoid operated fluid valving arrangement, comprising electrical field coil means, a relatively stationary discharge port for the flow therethrough of said fluid, a valve seat generally circumscribing said discharge port, pole piece means effective for carrying the magnetic flux generated by said electrical field coil means whenever said electrical field coil means is electrically energized, said pole piece means comprising a pole piece end face portion, armature means at least partly situated generally within said field coil means, said armature means comprising an armature end face portion, wherein said armature means is situated with respect to said pole piece means as to thereby cause said armature end face portion to be juxtaposed to and spaced from said pole piece end face portion a preselected distance, a valving portion carried by said armature means so as to at times operatively engage said valve seat, spring means normally urging said armature means toward said valve seat, spring seat means, wherein said spring seat means comprises first and second generally axially aligned spring seat members, wherein said spring means operatively engages said armature and said second spring seat member, wherein said spring means also urges said second spring seat member into operative abutting relationship with said first seat member, and wherein said second spring seat member is articulatingly movable with respect to said first spring seat member.
- 2. A solenoid operated fluid valving arrangement according to claim 1 and further comprising first magnetic flux conducting means situated at a first axial end of said electrical field coil means, second magnetic flux conducting means situated at a second axial end of said electrical field coil means opposite to said first axial end of said electrical field coil means, and tubular cylindrical sleeve means, said sleeve means being at least partly received by said second magnetic flux conducting means and effective for axially abutting against said first and second magnetic flux conducting means thereby preventing said first and second magnetic flux conducting means being positioned with respect to each other a distance less than that determined by the axial abutting of said sleeve means.
- 3. A solenoid operated fluid valving arrangement according to claim 2 wherein said tubular cylindrical sleeve means is comprised of non-magnetic stainless steel.
- 4. A solenoid operated fluid valving arrangement according to claim 1 and further comprising first magnetic flux conducting means situated at a first axial end of said electrical field coil means, second magnetic flux conducting means situated at a second axial end of said electrical field coil means opposite to said first axial end of said electrical field coil means, and tubular cylindrical sleeve means, said sleeve means being at least partly received by at least one of said first and second magnetic flux conducting means and effective for axially abutting against said first and second magnetic flux conducting means thereby preventing said first and second magnetic flux conducting means being positioned with respect to each other a distance less than that determined by the axial abutting of said cylindrical sleeve means.
- 5. A solenoid operated fluid valving arrangement according to claim 4 wherein said tubular cylindrical sleeve is characterized by a reduced diameter portion proximate one end thereof forming an annular shoulder at the juncture with the remainder of said sleeve, said annular shoulder abutting said one of said first and second magnetic flux conducting means in which said sleeve means is partly received.
- 6. A solenoid operated fluid valving arrangement according to claim 4 wherein said sleeve means comprises a cylindrical inner surface, and wherein said armature means is slidably received by said cylindrical inner surface as to be movable therein in response to the existance of said magnetic flux.
- 7. A solenoid operated fluid valving arrangement according to claim 4 and further comprising a bobbin, wherein said field coil means is carried by said bobbin, wherein said bobbin comprises a cylindrical surface, wherein said sleeve means comprises a cylindrical inner surface and a cylindrical outer surface, wherein said armature means is slidably received by said cylindrical inner surface of said sleeve means for movement therein in response to the existance of said magnetic flux, and wherein said bobbin is received generally about said sleeve means by having said cylindrical surface of said bobbin piloted about said cylindrical outer surface of said sleeve means.
- 8. A solenoid operated fluid valving arrangement according to claim 4 wherein said tubular cylindrical sleeve is characterized by a reduced diameter portion proximate one end thereof forming an annular shoulder at the juncture with the remainder of said sleeve, wherein said annular shoulder is radially outwardly of the reduced diameter portion, said annular shoulder abutting said one of said first and second magnetic flux conducting means in which said sleeve means is partly received.
