Sound of power

Abstract
This is a golf swing training device, consisting of a single unit which is placed over the grip end of a golf club. The golfer uses this apparatus by swinging the golf club allowing the equipment to slide down the shaft of the golf club during the forward swing process, causing it to slide into the club head, thus creating a loud audible sound, giving the golfer a frame of reference as to where the release took place, whether early or late.
Description

This golf swing training device is intended to improve a golfers swing by encouraging the release of the wrists while swinging a golf club shaft at a golf ball to increase club head speed at impact of the ball. This apparatus includes only the round machined disk, no other parts or material are required for this invention. The apparatus is constructed from polycarbonate 3″ round rod, machined on a lathe to the drawing dimensions. The device is one that is placed over the club grip, through the center hole of the apparatus, which will slide down the shaft of the golf club during the front swing, and will come in contact with the club head making an audible noise dictating the location of the release of the golf club generating maximum impact and club head speed at the point of impact at the golf ball.

Claims
  • 1. This invention is a golf swing training aid and a golf swing training method. The apparatus provides a golfer with an audible sound while assisting in correcting the release of the golf club on the downward swing of a golf club. Important to a fundamentally sound and repeating golf swing is the ability to consistently deliver the club head at impact on the proper path and with the club face square to the target line. This device will give the user feedback as to whether the users club is in the proper position at impact and will let them know whether they have released the club at the proper place thus imparting the maximum club head speed at the point of impact. The invention is a training aid used by golfers to train and/or improve golf playing techniques by teaching fundamentals in the swinging of a golf club.
