Claims
- 1. A method of installing a spaced sheathing roofing system on a plurality of batten strips spanning across truss rafters, the method comprising the steps of:
positioning a plurality of roof tiles on the batten strips; and applying an adhesive to the batten strips and the underside of the roof tiles.
- 2. The method of claim 1, wherein said step of applying an adhesive comprises spraying adhesive on the underside of the roof tiles.
- 3. The method of claim 2, wherein said step of applying an adhesive takes place after said step of positioning the plurality of roof tiles on the batten strips.
- 4. The method of claim 2, wherein said step of applying an adhesive includes spraying adhesive on the batten strips.
- 5. The method of claim 1, wherein the adhesive is a polymer adhesive.
- 6. The method of claim 1, wherein the adhesive is a polyurethane foam.
- 7. The method of claim 6, wherein the polyurethane foam is a froth liquid polyurethane foam.
- 8. The method of claim 6, wherein the polyurethane foam is a plural component polyurethane foam.
- 9. The method of claim 6, wherein the polyurethane foam has a density of about one to about four pounds per cubic foot.
- 10. The method of claim 6, wherein the polyurethane foam has a reactivity period of about one half to about ten minutes.
- 11. The method of claim 1, wherein said step of applying an adhesive secures the roof tiles to the batten strips.
- 12. The method of claim 11, wherein said step of applying an adhesive forms a waterproof barrier for the roofing system.
- 13. The method of claim 11, wherein said step of applying an adhesive forms an insulative layer for the roofing system.
- 14. A method of installing a spaced sheathing roofing system on a plurality of batten strips spanning across truss rafters, the method comprising the steps of:
positioning a plurality of roof tiles on the batten strips; and spraying a polymer adhesive onto the batten strips and the underside of the roof tiles.
- 15. The method of claim 14, wherein said, step of spraying a polymer adhesive takes place after said step of positioning the plurality of roof tiles on the batten strips.
- 16. The method of claim 14, wherein the polymer adhesive is a polyurethane foam.
- 17. The method of claim 16, wherein the polyurethane foam is a froth liquid polyurethane foam.
- 18. The method of claim 14, wherein said step of spraying a polymer adhesive secures the roof tiles to the batten strips.
- 19. The method of claim 18, wherein said step of spraying a polymer adhesive forms a waterproof barrier for the roofing system.
- 20. The method of claim 18, wherein said step of spraying a polymer adhesive forms an insulative layer for the roofing system.
- 21. In a spaced sheathing roofing system having a plurality of batten strips spanning across truss rafters and a plurality of roof cladding supported by the batten strips, the improvement comprising a polymer adhesive layer sprayed on the combination of the batten strips and an underside of the roof cladding to secure the roof cladding to the batten strips.
- 22. The spaced sheathing roofing system of claim 21, wherein said polymer adhesive layer forms a monolithic structure of the combination of batten strips, roof cladding and polymer adhesive layer.
- 23. The spaced sheathing roofing system of claim 21, wherein said polymer adhesive layer forms a waterproof barrier.
- 24. The spaced sheathing roofing system of claim 21, wherein said polymer adhesive layer forms an insulative layer.
- 25. The spaced sheathing roofing system of claim 24, wherein said polymer adhesive layer forms a waterproof barrier.
- 26. The spaced sheathing roofing system of claim 21, wherein said polymer adhesive layer is formed from a polyurethane foam.
