Abstract
The present invention relates to a novel exercise device. The device is a set of lower body exercise equipment that makes use of resistance/tension bands. The device comprises a back support brace component for providing form and bracing for the various resistances. The device also comprises a waist band component that secures around a user's waist and attaches the plurality of tension bands to each leg. Further, the device comprises ankle braces secured to a user's ankles to provide support and tension to the ankles during use. Finally, additional tension bands can be utilized as needed, as well as a cross-ankle resistance band secured between a user's ankles to provide additional resistance and tension to the lower legs.
Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates generally to the field of exercise devices. More specifically, the present invention relates to an improved exercise device that provides users with a multipurpose resistance band system capable of improving leg workouts for athletes and those rehabilitating injuries. Accordingly, the present disclosure makes specific reference thereto. Nonetheless, it is to be appreciated that aspects of the present invention are also equally applicable to other like applications, devices and methods of manufacture.


BACKGROUND

By way of background, this invention relates to improvements in exercise devices. Generally, lower body workouts can be difficult for people to complete, especially when coupled with cardio workouts. Furthermore, applying tension to various muscle groups may require several different types of equipment. Additionally, an athlete's running mechanics may be ineffective and lead to poor form, requiring a device which provides good running mechanics. Further, normal stretching can be difficult for some people, and tension in the legs can develop after running for only a short period of time. In addition, rehabilitation from injuries like a soft tissue injury can be nagging and frustrating to deal with.


Further, resistance bands are popular pieces of strength training equipment that allow individuals to build and tone their muscles with a simple elongated strap. Most resistance bands are made from a durable rubber strap or an elongated piece of elastic able to withstand repeated stretching and relaxing. Many people enjoy the convenience of utilizing the bands because they are easy to store and transport compared to conventional strengthening pieces like barbells, kettlebells or hand weights. Because they are basically a flexible, elongated strap, people can easily take the bands wherever they go for an instant workout.


Conventional resistance bands merely target one specific area of muscles while in use. It would be beneficial to have several exercise components that work in conjunction to target different areas of the body simultaneously. As such, a unique exercise device that applies force and tension to different areas to help improve workouts and recoveries is needed.


Therefore, there exists a long-felt need in the art for an exercise device that provides users with a multipurpose resistance band system capable of improving leg workouts for athletes and those rehabilitating injuries. There is also a long-felt need in the art for an exercise device that features several components that work in conjunction to work out different areas of the body. Further, there is a long-felt need in the art for an exercise device that includes a back plate to maintain form and bracing, a waist band that attaches various tension bands to each leg, ankle braces to support the ankles, and a cross-ankle band to maintain resistance on the lower legs. Moreover, there is a long-felt need in the art for a device that applies force and tension to different areas to help cardio workouts and improve stretching to help recovery speed and process. Further, there is a long-felt need in the art for an exercise device that is a set of lower body exercise equipment that makes use of resistance. Finally, there is a long-felt need in the art for an exercise device that is effective at providing lower body workouts.


The subject matter disclosed and claimed herein, in one embodiment thereof, comprises an exercise device. The device is a set of lower body exercise equipment that makes use of resistance/tension bands. The device comprises a back support brace component for providing form and bracing for the various resistances. The device also comprises a waist band component that secures around a user's waist and attaches the plurality of tension bands to each leg. Further, the device comprises ankle braces secured to a user's ankles to provide support and tension to the ankles during use. Finally, additional tension bands can be utilized as needed, as well as a cross-ankle resistance band secured between a user's ankles to provide additional resistance and tension to the lower legs.


In use, one or multiple tension bands are utilized and attached to the ankle braces and waist band component, depending on the desired tension needed. Further, the ankle braces attach the tension bands from the waist band component, as well as attach the cross-ankle resistance bands. Finally, a middle ankle location clip attachment and a heel ankle clip attachment can be utilized for securing the cross-ankle resistance bands during use.


In this manner, the exercise device of the present invention accomplishes all of the foregoing objectives and provides users with a device that effectively applies force and tension to different areas simultaneously during a workout. The device features several exercise components that work in conjunction to work out different areas of the body. The device can be adapted to fit most standard users and can be adjusted based on a user's preferences.


SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The following presents a simplified summary in order to provide a basic understanding of some aspects of the disclosed innovation. This summary is not an extensive overview, and it is not intended to identify key/critical elements or to delineate the scope thereof. Its sole purpose is to present some general concepts in a simplified form as a prelude to the more detailed description that is presented later.


The subject matter disclosed and claimed herein, in one embodiment thereof, comprises an exercise device. The device is a set of lower body exercise equipment that makes use of resistance/tension bands. The device comprises a back support brace component for providing form and bracing for the various resistances. The device also comprises a waist band component that secures around a user's waist and attaches the plurality of tension bands to each leg. Further, the device comprises ankle braces secured to a user's ankles to provide support and tension to the ankles during use. Finally, additional tension bands can be utilized as needed, as well as a cross-ankle resistance band secured between a user's ankles to provide additional resistance and tension to the lower legs.


A personal training system that includes a set of resistance bands and back support and waist band components to provide a full body workout from the comfort and privacy of home and/or easily transportable and can be used anywhere with any workout. The present invention provides a resistance band exercise device that comprises multiple resistance/tension straps, a back support brace component and a waist band component and attachments to provide a user with a lower body strengthening workout. The resistance band exercise device may be used with common exercise movements like kicks, lunges, leg raises, burpees, walking, running, etc. to provide greater resistance to build strength as the user moves. The resistance/tension straps may be made from a strong rubber or elastic material for long-lasting, durable equipment. The resistance band exercise device is practical, convenient, and effective to provide a full gym exercise program from the comfort of the user's home and/or easily transportable wherever the user desires.


In one embodiment, the exercise device comprises a back support brace component. The back support brace component includes a back panel, a front panel, opposing side panels, and a closure system. The back support brace component also comprises an outer surface and an inner surface. The back panel is configured such that it is positioned on the lower back of a user, with the opposing side panels capable of wrapping around the user such that the opposing sides are generally positioned on the sides of the user. Further, in one embodiment, the back panel can include a support pad or other suitable support means, secured within the structure of the back panel, such as by sewing or gluing. In another embodiment, the back panel may be provided with a pocket such that the support means may be removable. Additionally, the front panel includes the closure system, which allows a user to secure the back support brace component around themselves. The closure system can be a buckle, snaps, hook and loop fasteners, etc. The back support brace component acts to support the lower back of the user and to provide form and bracing for the various resistance bands, as well as to support the user's form and athletic mechanics during exercising.


In one embodiment, the exercise device comprises a waist band component. The waist band component comprises an adjustable strap that can be adjustably fitted around a user's waist. The waist band component acts to support the waist, as well as to secure the plurality of resistance/tension bands. Further, the waist band component comprises a plurality of connecting means to connect the plurality of resistance/tension bands. The connecting means comprise rings, loops, straps, attachments, etc. Further, in one embodiment, the waist band component is also secured to the back support brace component via any suitable securing means as is known in the art, to further support a user's lower back during use of the device, as well as to provide bracing for the various resistance bands.


In one embodiment, the exercise device comprises a pair of ankle brace components. The pair of ankle brace components are each an adjustable strap that can be adjustably fitted around the ankle of the user's foot which is being exercised. The ankle brace component acts to support the ankles, as well as to secure the plurality of resistance/tension bands. Further, the ankle brace component comprises a plurality of connecting means to connect the plurality of resistance/tension bands. The connecting means comprise rings, loops, straps, attachments, etc.


The ankle brace component is secured with a cooperating hook and loop fastener, buckles, snaps, etc., to allow adjustability. Further, the ankle brace component could be elastic and therefore self-adjusting. In another embodiment, the ankle brace component includes weights that are sewn into the ankle brace or otherwise attached. This would give an additional form of resistance for the exerciser.


In one embodiment, the attachment end of the resistance/tension bands hooks to the connecting means of the ankle brace component. The length of the resistance/tension bands is such that it must be stretched for the attachment end to reach the connecting means of the ankle brace component. Any suitable number of resistance/tension bands can be secured to the ankle brace component. The more resistance/tension bands are secured to the ankle brace component, the more resistance is increased.


The invention is best used in pairs whereby a user, wearing athletic shoes, straps and ankle brace component to the lower portion of each leg just above the ankles. The user attaches at least one resistance/tension band to the waist band component and stretches it to reach the ankle brace component worn on the leg. The user then attaches another resistance/tension band to the waist band component and stretches it to reach the ankle brace component worn on the opposite leg. The user then walks, runs, or performs an exercise of their choice, and the invention provides resistance to the muscles of the lower legs. This resistance strengthens the muscles and increases the effectiveness of the chosen exercise by increasing the calories burned and the heart rate achieved.


In one embodiment, the resistance/tension band is a tubular strap made from a rubber or elastic material with a first attachment end at one end and a second attachment end at the opposing end. Specifically, the tension bands are made of resiliently elastic material in order to provide some resistance to the legs and lower body. The tubular strap stretches between the first attachment end and the second attachment end. The first attachment end may be fastened to the waist band component and the second attachment end may be fastened to an ankle brace or vice versa. The attachment end may be a loop or a strap of fabric secured with a hook and loop fastener, commonly known as Velcro®, a carabiner, a hook attachment, a spring hook, etc.


When the first and the second attachment ends are secured, a user may pull on the band to stretch the strap. The resistance band provides the user with a counter force as they pull. The counter force assists the user to gain strength in the legs and back depending on the angle and direction they pull. Additionally, resistance/tension bands are provided in a plurality of varied elastic resistance strengths. Further, in one embodiment, multiple resistance/tension bands can be secured simultaneously to build up resistance as well.


In one embodiment, the resistance band is a wide resistance band. A wider resistance band provides for counter force that is stronger, making the workout more difficult, therefore, building greater endurance and muscle for the user. The wider resistance band may be two inches wide.


In one embodiment, the exercise device comprises a cross-ankle resistance band that is secured between the pair of ankle brace components. The cross-ankle resistance band is secured via a securing means, such as hook and loop fasteners, a carabiner, a hook attachment, a spring hook, etc. Any suitable number of cross-ankle resistance bands can be secured to the ankle brace components. In one embodiment, the cross-ankle resistance bands can be criss-crossed in attachment to provide additional resistance to the user. The cross-ankle resistance bands provide additional resistance and tension to the user's lower legs.


In one embodiment, the cross-ankle resistance bands comprise a middle ankle location clip attachment and/or a heel ankle clip attachment to further secure the cross-ankle resistance bands, or any other suitable securing means as is known in the art.


When used in conjunction with the back support brace component, the waist band component, and the ankle brace components of the present invention, the resistant/tension bands of the present invention serve to form a resistive exercise device that allows articulating, flexing, and extending of the lower limbs yet requires greater physical activity thereby increasing strength, endurance, aerobic capacity, and general well-being. Specifically, the user's legs and torso must work harder to overcome the restraints imposed.


In use, one or multiple tension bands are utilized and attached to the ankle braces and waist band component, depending on the desired tension needed. Further, the ankle braces attach the tension bands from the waist band component, as well as attach the cross-ankle resistance bands. Finally, a middle ankle location clip attachment and a heel ankle clip attachment can be utilized for securing the cross-ankle resistance bands during use.


In yet another embodiment, the exercise device comprises a plurality of indicia.


In yet another embodiment, a method of applying force and tension to different areas simultaneously while exercising is disclosed. The method includes the steps of providing an exercise device comprising a back support brace component, a waist band component that secures around a user's waist and attaches the plurality of tension bands to each leg, ankle braces secured to a user's ankles, and a cross-ankle resistance band secured between a user's ankles to provide additional resistance and tension to the lower legs. The method also comprises securing the back support brace component and the waist band component around the back and waist of a user. Further, the method comprises attaching a plurality of resistance/tension bands to the waist band component. The method also comprises securing the ankle braces to a user's ankles and securing the resistance/tension bands to the ankle braces. Finally, the method comprises performing a cardio workout while simultaneously working out the lower body with the exercise device.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PRESENT INVENTION

The innovation is now described with reference to the drawings, wherein like reference numerals are used to refer to like elements throughout. In the following description, for purposes of explanation, numerous specific details are set forth in order to provide a thorough understanding thereof. It may be evident, however, that the innovation can be practiced without these specific details. In other instances, well-known structures and devices are shown in block diagram form in order to facilitate a description thereof. Various embodiments are discussed hereinafter. It should be noted that the figures are described only to facilitate the description of the embodiments. They are not intended as an exhaustive description of the invention and do not limit the scope of the invention. Additionally, an illustrated embodiment need not have all the aspects or advantages shown. Thus, in other embodiments, any of the features described herein from different embodiments may be combined.


As noted above, there is a long-felt need in the art for an exercise device that provides users with a multipurpose resistance band system capable of improving leg workouts for athletes and those rehabilitating injuries. There is also a long-felt need in the art for an exercise device that features several components that work in conjunction to work out different areas of the body. Further, there is a long-felt need in the art for an exercise device that includes a back plate to maintain form and bracing, a waist band that attaches various tension bands to each leg, ankle braces to support the ankles, and a cross-ankle band to maintain resistance on the lower legs. Moreover, there is a long-felt need in the art for a device that applies force and tension to different areas to help cardio workouts and improve stretching to help recovery speed and process. Further, there is a long-felt need in the art for an exercise device that is a set of lower body exercise equipment that makes use of resistance. The present invention, in one exemplary embodiment, is a novel exercise device. The device is a set of lower body exercise equipment that makes use of resistance/tension bands. The device comprises a back support brace component for providing form and bracing for the various resistances. The device also comprises a waist band component that secures around a user's waist and attaches the plurality of tension bands to each leg. Further, the device comprises ankle braces secured to a user's ankles to provide support and tension to the ankles during use. Finally, additional tension bands can be utilized as needed, as well as a cross-ankle resistance band secured between a user's ankles to provide additional resistance and tension to the lower legs. The present invention also includes a novel method of applying force and tension to different areas simultaneously while exercising. The method includes the steps of providing an exercise device comprising a back support brace component, a waist band component that secures around a user's waist and attaches the plurality of tension bands to each leg, ankle braces secured to a user's ankles, and a cross-ankle resistance band secured between a user's ankles to provide additional resistance and tension to the lower legs. The method also comprises securing the back support brace component and the waist band component around the back and waist of a user. Further, the method comprises attaching a plurality of resistance/tension bands to the waist band component. The method also comprises securing the ankle braces to a user's ankles and securing the resistance/tension bands to the ankle braces. Finally, the method comprises performing a cardio workout while simultaneously working out the lower body with the exercise device.


Referring initially to the drawings, FIG. 1 illustrates a perspective view of one embodiment of the exercise device 100 of the present invention. In the present embodiment, the exercise device 100 is an improved exercise device 100 that is a set of lower body exercise equipment that makes use of resistance/tension bands 114. Specifically, the device 100 comprises a back support brace component 102 for providing form and bracing for the various resistances. The device 100 also comprises a waist band component 104 that secures around a user's waist and attaches the plurality of tension bands 114 to each leg. Further, the device 100 comprises a pair of ankle brace components 106 secured to a user's ankles 112 to provide support and tension to the user's ankles 112 during use. Finally, additional tension bands 114 can be utilized as needed, as well as a cross-ankle resistance band 108 secured between a user's ankles 112 to provide additional resistance and tension to the lower legs.


A personal training system that includes a set of resistance bands 114 and back support 102 and waist band components 104 to provide a full body workout from the comfort and privacy of home and/or easily transportable and can be used anywhere with any workout. The present invention provides a resistance band exercise device 100 that comprises multiple resistance/tension straps 114, a back support brace component 102 and a waist band component 104 and attachments to provide a user 110 with a lower body strengthening workout. The resistance band exercise device 100 may be used with common exercise movements like kicks, lunges, leg raises, burpees, walking, running, etc. to provide greater resistance to build strength as the user 110 moves. The resistance/tension straps 114 may be made from a strong rubber or elastic material for long-lasting, durable equipment. The resistance band exercise device 100 is practical, convenient, and effective, to provide a full gym exercise program from the comfort of the user's home and/or easily transportable wherever the user 110 desires.


The exercise device 100 comprises a pair of ankle brace components 106. The pair of ankle brace components 106 are each an adjustable strap that can be adjustably fitted around the ankle of the user's foot which is being exercised. The ankle brace component 106 acts to support the ankles 112, as well as to secure the plurality of resistance/tension bands 114. Further, the ankle brace component 106 comprises a plurality of connecting means 116 to connect the plurality of resistance/tension bands 114. The connecting means 116 comprise rings, loops, straps, attachments, etc.


Further, the ankle brace component 106 is secured with a cooperating hook and loop fastener, buckles, snaps, etc., to allow adjustability. Further, the ankle brace component 106 could be clastic and therefore self-adjusting. In another embodiment, the ankle brace component 106 includes weights that are sewn into the ankle brace 106 or otherwise attached. This would give an additional form of resistance for the exerciser.


Generally, the attachment end 118 of the resistance/tension bands 114 hooks to the connecting means 116 of the ankle brace component 106. The length of the resistance/tension bands 114 is such that it must be stretched for the attachment end 118 to reach the connecting means 116 of the ankle brace component 106. Any suitable number of resistance/tension bands 114 can be secured to the ankle brace component 106. The more resistance/tension bands 114 are secured to the ankle brace component 106, the more resistance is increased.


The invention is best used in pairs whereby a user 110, wearing athletic shoes, straps an ankle brace component 106 to the lower portion of each leg just above the ankles 112. The user 110 attaches at least one resistance/tension band 114 to the waist band component 104 and stretches it to reach the ankle brace component 106 worn on the leg. The user 110 then attaches another resistance/tension band 114 to the waist band component 104 and stretches it to reach the ankle brace component 106 worn on the opposite leg. The user 110 then walks, runs, or performs an exercise of their choice, and the invention provides resistance to the muscles of the lower legs. This resistance strengthens the muscles and increases the effectiveness of the chosen exercise by increasing the calories burned and the heart rate achieved.


As shown in FIGS. 1-2, the exercise device 100 comprises a cross-ankle resistance band 108 that is secured between the pair of ankle brace components 106. The cross-ankle resistance band 108 is secured via a securing means, such as hook and loop fasteners, a carabiner, a hook attachment, a spring hook, etc. Any suitable number of cross-ankle resistance bands 108 can be secured to the ankle brace components 106. In one embodiment, the cross-ankle resistance bands 108 can be criss-crossed in attachment to provide additional resistance to the user 110. The cross-ankle resistance bands 108 provide additional resistance and tension to the user's lower legs.


In one embodiment, the cross-ankle resistance bands 108 comprise a middle ankle location clip attachment 200 and/or a heel ankle clip attachment 202 to further secure the cross-ankle resistance bands 108, or any other suitable securing means as is known in the art, depending on the needs and/or wants of a user.


As shown in FIG. 3, the resistance/tension band 108 is a tubular strap made from a rubber or elastic material with a first attachment end 118 at one end 300 and a second attachment end 118 at the opposing or second end 302. Specifically, the tension bands 108 are made of resiliently elastic material in order to provide some resistance to the legs and lower body. The tubular strap stretches between the first end 300 and the second end 302. The first attachment end 118 may be fastened to the waist band component 104 and the second attachment end 118 may be fastened to an ankle brace component 106 or vice versa. The attachment end 118 may be a loop or a strap of fabric secured with a hook and loop fastener, commonly known as Velcro®, a carabiner, a hook attachment, a spring hook, etc., or any other suitable attachment means as is known in the art, depending on the needs and/or wants of a user.


When the first and the second attachment ends 118 are secured, a user 110 may pull on the band 114 to stretch the strap. The resistance band 114 provides the user 110 with a counter force as they pull. The counter force assists the user 110 to gain strength in the legs and back depending on the angle and direction they pull. Additionally, resistance/tension bands 114 are provided in a plurality of varied elastic resistance strengths. Further, in one embodiment, multiple resistance/tension bands 114 can be secured simultaneously to build up resistance as well.


In one embodiment, the resistance band 114 is a wide resistance band 304. A wider resistance band 304 provides for counter force that is stronger, making the workout more difficult therefore building greater endurance and muscle for the user 110. The wider resistance band 304 may be two inches wide, or any other suitable size as is known in the art.


As shown in FIG. 4, the exercise device 100 comprises a back support brace component 102. The back support brace component 102 includes a back panel 400, a front panel 402, opposing side panels 404, and a closure system 406. The back support brace component 102 also comprises an outer surface 408 and an inner surface 410. The back panel 400 is configured such that it is positioned on the lower back of a user 110, with the opposing side panels 404 capable of wrapping around the user 110 such that the opposing sides 404 are generally positioned on the sides of the user 110. Further, in one embodiment, the back panel 400 can include a support pad 412 or other suitable support means, secured within the structure of the back panel 400, such as by sewing or gluing. In another embodiment, the back panel 400 may be provided with a pocket such that the support means 412 may be removable. Additionally, the front panel 402 includes the closure system 406 which allows a user 110 to secure the back support brace component 102 around themselves. The closure system 406 can be a buckle, snaps, hook and loop fasteners, etc., or any other suitable closure system as is known in the art. The back support brace component 102 acts to support the lower back of the user 110 and to provide form and bracing for the various resistance bands 114, as well as to support the user's form and athletic mechanics during exercising. The back support brace component 102 can also help to support and activate a user's core while exercising.


Further, the exercise device 100 comprises a waist band component 104. The waist band component 104 comprises an adjustable strap that can be adjustably fitted around a user's waist. The waist band component 104 acts to support the waist, as well as to secure the plurality of resistance/tension bands 114. Further, the waist band component 104 comprises a plurality of connecting means 414 to connect the plurality of resistance/tension bands 114. The connecting means 414 comprise rings, loops, straps, attachments, etc., or any other suitable connecting means as is known in the art. Further, in one embodiment, the waist band component 104 is also secured to the back support brace component 102 via any suitable securing means as is known in the art, to further support a user's lower back during use of the device 100, as well as to provide bracing for the various resistance bands 114.


As shown in FIG. 5, when used in conjunction with the back support brace component 102, the waist band component 104, and the ankle brace components 106 of the present invention, the resistant/tension bands 114 of the present invention serve to form a resistive exercise device 100 that allows articulating, flexing, and extending of the lower limbs yet requires greater physical activity thereby increasing strength, endurance, aerobic capacity, and general well-being. Specifically, the user's legs and torso must work harder to overcome the restraints imposed.


In use, one or multiple tension bands 114 are utilized and attached to the ankle braces 106 and waist band component 104, depending on the desired tension needed. Further, the ankle braces 106 attach the tension bands 114 from the waist band component 104, as well as attach the cross-ankle resistance bands 108. Finally, a middle ankle location clip attachment 200 and a heel ankle clip attachment 202 can be utilized for securing the cross-ankle resistance bands 108 during use.


Furthermore, the exercise device 100 comprises a plurality of indicia 500. The back support brace component 102 of the device 100 may include advertising, a trademark, or other letters, designs, or characters, printed, painted, stamped, or integrated into the back support brace component 102, waist band component 104, and ankle brace components 106, or any other indicia 500 as is known in the art. Specifically, any suitable indicia 500 as is known in the art can be included, such as, but not limited to, patterns, logos, emblems, images, symbols, designs, letters, words, characters, animals, advertisements, brands, etc., that may or may not be exercise, resistance band, or brand related.



FIG. 6 illustrates a flowchart of the method of applying force and tension to different areas simultaneously while exercising. The method includes the steps of at 600, providing an exercise device comprising a back support brace component, a waist band component that secures around a user's waist and attaches the plurality of tension bands to each leg, ankle braces secured to a user's ankles, and a cross-ankle resistance band secured between a user's ankles to provide additional resistance and tension to the lower legs. The method also comprises at 602, securing the back support brace component and the waist band component around the back and waist of a user. Further, the method comprises at 604, attaching a plurality of resistance/tension bands to the waist band component. The method also comprises at 606, securing the ankle braces to a user's ankles and securing the resistance/tension bands to the ankle braces. Finally, the method comprises at 608, performing a cardio workout while simultaneously working out the lower body with the exercise device.


Certain terms are used throughout the following description and claims to refer to particular features or components. As one skilled in the art will appreciate, different users may refer to the same feature or component by different names. This document does not intend to distinguish between components or features that differ in name but not structure or function. As used herein “exercise device”, “resistance band device”, and “device” are interchangeable and refer to the exercise device 100 of the present invention.


Notwithstanding the foregoing, the exercise device 100 of the present invention can be of any suitable size and configuration as is known in the art without affecting the overall concept of the invention, provided that it accomplishes the above-stated objectives. One of ordinary skill in the art will appreciate that the exercise device 100 as shown in FIGS. 1-6 is for illustrative purposes only, and that many other sizes and shapes of the exercise device 100 are well within the scope of the present disclosure. Although the dimensions of the exercise device 100 are important design parameters for user convenience, the exercise device 100 may be of any size that ensures optimal performance during use and/or that suits the user's needs and/or preferences.


Various modifications and additions can be made to the exemplary embodiments discussed without departing from the scope of the present invention. While the embodiments described above refer to particular features, the scope of this invention also includes embodiments having different combinations of features and embodiments that do not include all of the described features. Accordingly, the scope of the present invention is intended to embrace all such alternatives, modifications, and variations as fall within the scope of the claims, together with all equivalents thereof.

Claims
  • 1. An exercise device comprising: a waist band component;a plurality of resistance bands; anda pair of ankle brace components;wherein each of the pair of ankle brace components is secured around a respective ankle of a user; andfurther wherein the waist band component is secured around a waist of the user and attaches the plurality of resistance bands to the pair of ankle brace components during use.
  • 2. The exercise device of claim 1 further comprising a back support brace component that can be secured to the waist band component during use.
  • 3. The exercise device of claim 2, wherein the back support brace component is comprised of a back panel, a front panel, opposing side panels, and a closure system within the front panel.
  • 4. The exercise device of claim 3, wherein the back panel of the back support brace component comprises a support pad.
  • 5. The exercise device of claim 4 further comprising a cross-ankle resistance band secured between the respective ankles of the user at the pair of ankle brace components.
  • 6. The exercise device of claim 5, wherein the cross-ankle resistance band comprises a middle ankle location clip attachment and a heel ankle clip attachment to further secure the cross-ankle resistance band.
  • 7. The exercise device of claim 1, wherein the pair of ankle brace components comprise an adjustable strap and a plurality of connecting means for securing the plurality of resistance bands.
  • 8. The exercise device of claim 7, wherein each of the plurality of resistance bands comprise an attachment end.
  • 9. The exercise device of claim 8, wherein the attachment end is a carabiner that attaches to the ankle brace components and to the waist band component.
  • 10. The exercise device of claim 9, wherein at least one of the plurality of resistance bands is a wide resistance band.
  • 11. The exercise device of claim 10 further comprising a plurality of indicia.
  • 12. An exercise device comprising: a waist band component;a back support brace component that can be secured to the waist band component during use;a plurality of resistance bands;a pair of ankle brace components, wherein ach of the pair of ankle brace components is secured to a respective ankle of a user; anda cross-ankle resistance band secured between the respective ankles of the user at the pair of ankle brace components;wherein the waist band component is secured around a waist of the user and attaches the plurality of resistance bands to the pair of ankle brace components during use;wherein each of the plurality of resistance bands comprises an attachment end; andfurther wherein the attachment end secures to each of the pair of ankle brace components and to the waist band component.
  • 13. The exercise device of claim 12, wherein the cross-ankle resistance band comprises a middle ankle location clip attachment and a heel ankle clip attachment to further secure the cross-ankle resistance band.
  • 14. The exercise device of claim 12, wherein the attachment end is a carabiner.
  • 15. The exercise device of claim 12 further comprising a plurality of indicia.
  • 16. The exercise device of claim 12, wherein the back support brace component is comprised of a back panel, a front panel, opposing side panels and a closure system within the front panel.
  • 17. The exercise device of claim 16, wherein the back panel of the back support brace component comprises a support pad.
  • 18. The exercise device of claim 12, wherein each of the pair of ankle brace components comprises an adjustable strap and a plurality of connecting means for securing the plurality of resistance bands.
  • 19. The exercise device of claim 12, wherein at least one of the plurality of resistance bands is a wide resistance band.
  • 20. A method of applying force and tension to different areas of a user simultaneously while exercising, the method comprising the steps of: providing an exercise device comprising a back support brace component, a waist band component that secures around a user's waist and attaches the plurality of tension bands to each leg, ankle braces secured to a user's ankles, and a cross-ankle resistance band secured between a user's ankles to provide additional resistance and tension to the lower legs;securing the back support brace component and the waist band component around the back and waist of a user;attaching a plurality of resistance/tension bands to the waist band component;securing the ankle braces to a user's ankles and securing the resistance/tension bands to the ankle braces; andperforming a cardio workout while simultaneously working out the lower body with the exercise device.
