Claims
- 1. A timepiece comprising a mainspring, said mainspring being formed from an amorphous metal.
- 2. A timepiece as recited by claim 1, wherein said mainspring defines a free-exploded S-shape.
- 3. A timepiece as recited in claim 2, wherein said mainspring includes an inner end which serves as a winding side for said mainspring, and an outer end, wherein said free-exploded S-shape has a curvature changing point where the curvature of the free-exploded shape changes, said curvature changing point being located at a point closer to said inner end than to a point midway between said inner end and said outer end.
- 4. A timepiece comprising a hairspring, said hairspring being formed from an amorphous metal.
- 5. A timepiece as recited by claim 4, wherein said hairspring defines a free-exploded S-shape.
- 6. A timepiece as recited in claim 4, wherein said hairspring includes an inner end which serves as a winding side for said hairspring, and an outer end, wherein said free-exploded S-shape has a curvature changing point where the curvature of the free-exploded shape changes, said curvature changing point being located at a point closer to said inner end than to a point midway between said inner end and said outer end.
- 7. A drive mechanism comprising:
two amorphous metal mainsprings; a plurality of barrel drums housing said two amorphous metal mainsprings; and a train wheel, said plurality of barrel drums simultaneously engaging said train wheel, for transmitting mechanical energy from said two mainsprings.
- 8. A drive mechanism as recited in claim 7, wherein said plurality of barrel drums are phase shifted from each other when they engage said train wheel.
- 9. A time piece having a drive mechanism comprising:
two amorphous metal mainsprings; a plurality of barrel drums housing said two amorphous metal mainsprings; and a train wheel, said plurality of barrel drums simultaneously engaging said train wheel, for transmitting mechanical energy from said two mainsprings.
- 10. A time piece as recited in claim 8, wherein said plurality of barrel drums are phase shifted from each other when they engage said train wheel.
