Claims
- 1. An unsubstituted sulfonium salt having the formula SH.sub.3 .sup.+SbF.sub.6 .sup.- which is a solid that is stable at 25.degree. C.
- 2. The method of producing SH.sub.3 .sup.+SbF.sub.6 .sup.- consisting of the steps of:
- forming a homogenous mixture of SbF.sub.5 and liquid anhydrous HF,
- cooling said mixture to -196.degree. C,
- adding hydrogen sulfide, and
- gradually warming the resulting mixture until a white solid is formed.
