Claims
- 1. A dolly for supporting stackable trays comprising:
a body having an upper surface and a plurality of casters connected to a bottom surface; and a ridge extending along the upper surface for interacting with a tray to be stacked thereon for guiding sliding movement of the tray in at least one direction.
- 2. The dolly of claim 1, wherein the ridge has tapered ends for allowing the tray to be removed by lifting one edge of the tray to be removed and pulling the tray to be removed.
- 3. The dolly of claim 2, wherein the ridge further comprises at least two identical ridges extending generally parallel with respect to one another adjacent opposite sides of the body.
- 4. The dolly of claim 1 further comprising at least one locking projection formed on the upper surface for interacting with a tray to be stacked thereon for preventing movement of the tray in at least one direction.
- 5. The dolly of claim 4, wherein the locking projection prevents movement of the tray in at least two directions.
- 6. The dolly of claim 4, wherein the at least one locking projection extends outwardly from the ridge.
- 7. The dolly of claim 6, wherein the at least one locking projection prevents longitudinal movement of a stacked tray along the ridge.
- 8. The dolly of claim 1 further comprising at least one notch formed in the upper surface of the body for allowing a plurality of dollys to stacked with respect to one another, the at least one notch receiving the corresponding caster of an upper dolly to stacked thereon.
- 9. The dolly of claim 8, wherein the at least one notch includes an angled ramp portion.
- 10. The dolly of claim 9, wherein the at least one notch includes a recessed surface at least partially surrounded by at least one sidewall.
- 11. The dolly of claim 9, wherein the at least one notch further comprises a plurality of notches.
- 12. The dolly of claim 11, wherein the plurality of notches include angled ramp portions extending toward a common centerline of the body.
- 13. A dolly for supporting stackable trays comprising:
a body having an upper surface and a plurality of casters connected to a bottom surface; at least two identical ridges extending generally parallel with respect to one another adjacent opposite sides of the body, each ridge extending along the upper surface for interacting with a tray to be stacked thereon for guiding sliding movement of the tray in at least one direction; and at least one locking projection formed on the upper surface for interacting with a tray to be stacked thereon for preventing movement of the tray in at least one direction.
- 14. The dolly of claim 13, wherein the ridge has tapered ends for allowing the tray to be removed by lifting one edge of the tray to be removed and pulling the tray to be removed.
- 15. The dolly of claim 13, wherein the locking projection prevents movement of the tray in at least two directions.
- 16. The dolly of claim 13, wherein the at least one locking projection extends outwardly from the ridge.
- 17. The dolly of claim 16, wherein the at least one locking projection prevents longitudinal movement of a stacked tray along the ridge.
- 18. The dolly of claim 13 further comprising at least one notch formed in the upper surface of the body for allowing a plurality of dollys to stacked with respect to one another, the at least one notch receiving the corresponding caster of an upper dolly to stacked thereon.
- 19. The dolly of claim 18, wherein the at least one notch includes an angled ramp portion.
- 20. The dolly of claim 19, wherein the at least one notch includes a recessed surface at least partially surrounded by at least one sidewall.
- 21. The dolly of claim 19, wherein the at least one notch further comprises a plurality of notches.
- 22. The dolly of claim 21, wherein the plurality of notches include angled ramp portions extending toward a common centerline of the body.
