- 25. A sensor comprising:
a generally annulus-shaped base, said base configured for attachment with a tissue location on a patient; a lid hingedly connected at its near end with a near end of said base; an emitter disposed on a first side of said lid; a detector disposed on said first side of said lid; and a clasp connected with a far end of said lid and configured to engage a far end of said base.
- 26. The sensor of claim 25 further comprising an adhesive layer disposed on a first side of said generally annulus-shaped base for attachment with a tissue location on a patient.
- 27. The sensor of claim 25 further comprising a plurality of stacked independent adhesive layers disposed on a first side of said generally annulus-shaped base for attachment with a tissue location on a patient.
- 28. The sensor of claim 25 wherein said sensor is configured to operate in a first mode and a second mode,
wherein in said first mode said clasp engages said base, and said lid and said base together form a substantially flat sensor, and wherein in said second mode, said clasp is disengaged from said base and said lid is lifted from said tissue location.
- 29. The sensor of claim 25 wherein said sensor is an oximeter sensor.
