The present invention relates to a stacking game system. More specifically, the present invention is a multi-component game structure providing several elements for a deeper, more fulfilling gameplay experience.
Many people enjoy playing board games or other types of interactive games. Whether amongst family, friends or strangers, engaging in a game of chance or a game of skill can be an energizing and exciting way for an individual to spend their time. Regardless of one's skill level or luck, he or she can enjoy time with other people in a constructive environment by playing games. In addition to the social benefits of board games and other interactive games, these activities can also be beneficial for an individual's physical and mental health. Some games can require an individual to use mathematical skills, or to wield their fine motor skills carefully. Many games are competitive, allowing for individuals to challenge those around them in games of luck and skill.
Over time, however, many interactive games may become dull. Particularly, some games may become so familiar to the players over time that the challenge associated with playing them may be diminished. Once a player becomes so good at an interactive game, the people around them may not wish to challenge them or to play with them anymore. Therefore, there is a defined need in the known arts for a game system that combines familiar elements to interactive game enthusiasts with new technologies to create an enhanced experience of interactive gaming.
In view of the foregoing disadvantages inherent in the known types of game systems and structures now present in the prior art, the present invention provides a stacking game system wherein the same can be utilized for providing convenience for the user when organizing a playing a stacking game.
The present system comprises a plurality of spinners. Each spinner comprises a base member and a rotational member. The rotational member is movably secured to the base member, such that the rotational member may rotate when the base member is in a stable position. Each base member comprises a plurality of slots. The plurality of slots is dimensioned to receive a plurality of playing cards therein. The plurality of playing cards correspond to a plurality of blocks. The plurality of playing cards may be sorted into a plurality of playing card groups and the plurality of blocks may be sorted into a plurality of block portions. The plurality of block portions is stackable, such that the plurality of block portions may be placed into a tower configuration.
Although the characteristic features of this invention will be particularly pointed out in the claims, the invention itself and manner in which it may be made and used may be better understood after a review of the following description, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings wherein like numeral annotations are provided throughout.
Reference is made herein to the attached drawings. Like reference numerals are used throughout the drawings to depict like or similar elements of the stacking game system. The figures are intended for representative purposes only and should not be considered to be limiting in any respect.

The base member 12 further comprises a rotational member 13. The rotational member 13 is movably affixed to the base member 12. The rotational member 13 is movably secured to the base member 12 by any suitable means. For example, the rotational member 13 may be secured to the base member 12 via a rivet or a pin inserted through the proximal end of the rotational member 13 into the base member 12. The rivet or pin should be rigidly affixed to the base member 12 such as to prevent movement of the base member 12 when the rotational member 13 is engaged. In the illustrated embodiment, the rotational member 13 is centrally disposed on the base member 12. The rotational member 13 comprises a distal indicator 14. The distal indicator 14 is configured to indicate a location at which the rotational member 13 is oriented. As such, when the rotational member 13 is moved or spun, the distal indicator 14 will indicate the location at which the rotational member stops.
Additionally, the base member 12 comprises a plurality of slots 15. The plurality of slots 15 are dimensioned to receive a playing card 16 therein. As such, a playing card 16 selected from a plurality of plurality of cards 16 may be inserted into a slot of the plurality of slots 15. The slots 15 are dimensioned and positioned upon the base member 12, such that when the rotational member 13 is engaged, the distal indicator 14 of the rotational member 13 will land on a slot of the plurality of slots 15. The slot 15 having a playing card 16 therein will elicit an action from the user based on the nature of the playing card 16 on which the distal indicator 14 of the rotational member 13 lands. A plurality of side walls 19 may extend upwardly from the base member 12, such as to more effectively define the plurality of slots 15. In the specific embodiment, the playing card 16 is arc-shaped. As such, the playing card 16 may be fully inserted into the slot 15 of the base member 12. Furthermore, in some embodiments, each playing card 16 comprises a numeric indicia 21 thereon. The numeric indicia 21 corresponds to a block of the plurality of blocks (shown in

As shown, the plurality of blocks 18 may be placed into a stacked configuration. In the demonstrated embodiment, the stacked configured is defined where a first set of four blocks 18a is placed into a linear alignment, wherein each block of the first set of four blocks 18a is in a parallel orientation. The first set of four blocks 18a are placed into contact with each other. On the top surface of the first set of four blocks 18a, a second set of four blocks 18b is placed. The second set of four blocks 18b are in parallel alignment with each other, but in perpendicular alignment with first set of four blocks 18a. As such, the length of each block of the plurality of blocks 18, in the shown embodiment, is equal to four times the width of each block of the plurality of blocks 18. This pattern is repeated until every block of the plurality of blocks 18 is placed into the stackable configuration. As demonstrated, in the stacked configuration, each block portion of the plurality of block portions 17 is segregated from the remaining block portions of the plurality of block portions 17.

In a method of playing the stacking game system, a plurality of players 22a, 22b, 22c are gathered in the vicinity of the stacking game system. Each player 22a, 22b, 22c will select a number of playing cards 16 corresponding to the number of slots 15 of the spinner 11. Once each player 22a, 22b, 22c has filled all of the slots 15 on their spinner 11, the first player 22a will engage the rotational member 13 of his or her spinner 11, resulting in its relocation to a slot 15 of the spinner 11. The first player 22a will then follow the action indicated by the playing card 16 in the slot 15 on which the rotational member 13 landed. The action may be indicated by a numeric indicia, where the first player 22a must select a block 18 corresponding to the numeric indicia 16. The block 18 itself, in such an embodiment, may further comprise an identical numeric indicia. Furthermore, the action may be indicated by a color, wherein the first player 22a must select a block 16 corresponding to the color of the playing card 16. Alternatively, a number of indicia, such as a numeric indicia and a color may indicate which block 18 that the user must remove from the plurality of blocks 18.
If the first player 22a is successful in removing the indicated block 18 from the plurality of blocks 18, the second player 22b will spin his or her rotational member to determine which block 18 he or she must remove from the plurality of blocks. The first player 22a will then select a playing card 16 from a plurality of playing cards 16 to replace the playing card 16 of which the action has been performed. The removed block may then be discarded or placed atop the plurality of blocks 18 to further lengthen the game. The corresponding playing card is then discarded or returned to the plurality of playing cards 16. If the first player 22a is unsuccessful, and the plurality of blocks 18 collapse or fall, the second player 22b and the third player 22c would win the stacking game.
It is therefore submitted that the instant invention has been shown and described in various embodiments. It is recognized, however, that departures may be made within the scope of the invention and that obvious modifications will occur to a person skilled in the art. With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of the invention, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by the present invention.
Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the invention. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the invention to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the invention.
