Abstract
A stem for fastening artificial fruits and flowers to articles of clothing comprising a member of a pair of interlocking disks.
Description

Ornaments are generally attached to articles of clothing by means of pinning. This method however is cumbersome when attaching plastic fruit or flower, and can leave a permanent hole in the garment with repeated use.


BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention offers a means of easily fastening and unfastening artificial fruit or flower to articles of clothing, and more particularly offers a stem for artificial fruit or flower.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Referring to FIG. 1, there is illustrated the general configuration of a stem for artificial fruit or flower. It is contemplated that said stem be molded from a suitable polymer material, sufficiently rigid, so as to maintain the strength and appearance similar to the stem of a natural fruit or flower. At the neck 10, of said stem, there is a stud or male portion 12, of a pair of interlocking disks. The socket or female companion portion 14, of said interlocking disks pair, is housed in the article of clothing as disclosed in FIG. 4


As shown in FIG. 3, is a preferred embodiment of the neck 10, of the present invention, molded flat with an eyelet 32, to accommodate a post style snap male portion 12, and the retainer cap 22, on the opposite side. Male portion 12 is secured to the stem by injecting the post thereof through eyelet 32 and pressing unto retainer cap 22. At the extremities of the body of the stem are formed T tips to receive and retain the fruits of flowers, 34, 36, in part.


The foregoing example of the embodiment of a stem for artificial fruit or flower is intended to be illustrative rather than restrictive. The essential element of subject invention is a pair of interlocking disks comprising of a stud or male portion and a socket or female portion. Accordingly, it is contemplated that the socket member could be interchanged with the stud member, meaning portion 12 in FIG. 1 could be made female, and portion 14 in FIG. 4 could be made male.


A yet further embodiment of the present invention is a singular polymer material molded Stem, wherein the stud portion of the interlocking disk, or the socket portion of the interlocking disk, is made a part thereof the stem as a whole, at inception of the molding process. In such embodiment the portion of the interlocking disk, male or female, is formed with the stem.


A stem with retention means other that T tips, such a pine, or cone formation, is also envisioned within the scope of the invention.

  • 1) A stem for artificial fruit or flower is claimed.
  • 2) The stem in claim 1 molded from of a polymer material.
  • 3) The stem in claim 2 wherein the neck has an eyelet.
  • 4) The stem in claim 3 comprising a stud or male portion of a pair of interlocking disks.
  • 5) The stem in claim 3 comprising a socket or female portion of a pair of interlocking disks.
  • 6) The stem in claim 4 wherein the portion of the interlocking disk is a metal attachment
  • 7) The stem in claim 4 wherein the portion of the interlocking disk is a polymer attachment
  • 8) The stem in claim 5 wherein, the portion of the interlocking disk is a metal attachment.
  • 9) The stem in claim 5 wherein the portion of the interlocking disk is a polymer attachment.
  • 10) The stem in claim 4 wherein the portion of the interlocking disk is singular with the stem.
